WAR, WATER, AND ELECTRICITY

Use of the word “forgets” (link below) is extremely diplomatic.  Real intellectual gymnastics are needed to ignore NATO intrusion onto the borders of Russia.  At the same time one condemns the Russian invasion into Ukraine, childish trust is required to overlook the same from NATO toward Russian security. read more

REAGAN CONCEPTS WERE A NATIONAL SECURITY RISK

We still are subjected to Conservative propaganda of the Reagan wonder years that were a lie then and are rewritten history today.  The harm to We The People is real and the time needed for the public to understand the extent of the lie, and then to act accordingly, may be long.  Denial seems to be the reason for ongoing Reagan worship in the same way as is the denial in ongoing Trump worship.   read more

TIME TO INVESTIGATE INANITY

Today C-Span at around 2:30PM, is airing a Congressional Q&A on the topic of US Drone Strikes.  This is an eyeopener on a topic about which most people have a passing awareness and little more.  Transparency is stressed by such groups as the ACLU, and defended against by some politicians.  That drones are used by one nation against the citizens of another seems to be beyond the pale. read more

FRIGGED SYSTEM

In a republic run similarly to a Pyramid Scheme and not a democracy, the euphemism for price gouging appears to be inflation. read more

CLIMATE CHANGE, HURRICANE, AND WAR

Some people see the origin of Creation less as a man with a beard and wearing a night gown, standing in the clouds, and more like cause and effect orchestrated by each individual.  A C-Span caller the other day said the hurricane was a judgment on Florida for shipping migrants to Martha’s Vineyard. read more

IT’S LIKE THEY’RE ABOVE THE LAW

Legalized corruption in elections byway of Citizens United seems to have produced the culture in which politicians don’t think they are above the law, they are above the law.
Big-money campaign donors have highly questionable influence over local politicians.  One doesn’t suggest money was an influence in the following scenario.  But what happened to the governmental suggestion that politicians should avoid the appearance of corruption? read more

IF YOU DON’T USE IT YOU LOSE IT

Consider the progress in terms of good health, peace, and equality over just 100 years.  It is almost impossible to imagine that I was born only 30 years after the ratification of Suffrage for Women.  That NOW is only about 50 years old is even as fascinating.  That the right for a woman to control her own body in 2022 is on the line is disturbing; but compared to the journey, just a bump in the road.  It is a reminder that freedom and autonomy is each a journey, not a destination.  The ERA could be an important goal for young women going forward.  The success of the past, emerging from the deepest rights violations, reminds that the successes can be even sweeter.  Loss of gains made were quite predictable to those not heady with hubris of the freedom and autonomy handed to them on silver platters. read more

CORPORATE CHARTER REVOCATION

Indoctrination that a so-called free market is the best system by which to provide opportunity for the most people can be questioned.  This has been the co-option by capitalistic hierarchical Establishment that has taken this concept and twisted it into a Pyramid  Scheme economy.  Now would be a great time to reconsider control by those who may have tendencies toward self-promotion rather than to maintaining a livable planet including human rights and rights of nature. read more
