NATURAL OPULENCE

C-Span hosted a discussion about water this morning. Water is as important as are bees to the survival of everything.

Joshua Partlow on the New Colorado River Water Sharing Deal
Washington Post reporter Joshua Partlow discusses the new agreement between the Biden administration and Colorado River states to conserve their water supply.–end of c-span info–
9:50AM–caller–paraphrase–commented about abuse of water including for recreational purposes such as golf courses that require opulent use of water for recreation. This caller also mentioned the use by Saudi Arabia of Western-state water to grow alfalfa for export to Saudi Arabia. This seems to tie together under the label of globalism about which paid-to-play politicians have been giddy over decades. Obama seemed especially intent about “fast-tracking” TPP, which was a trade agreement that would prioritize interests of multi-national corporations over US nature and people. This was depressingly corrupt but as Zurlina Maxwell ‘splained, “everybody does it”. Indeed…but typically capitalists.
But as to the use of water, another caller questioned about moving water around the US from areas inundated to areas in drought.
Several thoughts about these threads of reality–
*The pretense of Saudi friendship toward the US is open to debate
*The 9/11 attackers had association with Saudi Arabia, and that nation has ended with ostensibly greater support from the US government than enjoys We The People
*The topic off Saudi golf tournaments that offer pay-to-play participants quasi bribes enter, currently operating in the US, further exacerbates the water issues —(https://www.si.com/golf/news/saudi-backed-golf-league-announces-2022-schedule-with-four-us-events#:~:text=The%20schedule%20includes%20fo)
*Western states seem to imagine a greening of low-rainfall areas to make more comfortable, new residents they are trying to entice for their region, and shipping water to this end seems another facet in the plan
*Industrial manipulation of nature has proved to be a bad policy, and shipping of water for social engineering is no different
*Investigation into Hunter Biden seems justified but no more so than should be consideration of the Trump family association with Saudi Arabia, including the Kushners
*The buying off of the US by politicians also needs a look
*Lawmakers have passed laws protecting bureaucrats and politicians at the expense of nature and the public, and if this isn’t dictatorship, what is?
Nature is one object of manipulation by Establishment for cash; another is time. — https://www.yesmagazine.org/issue/thirst/2023/05/18/time-isnt-money?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=YESDaily_20230528&utm_content=YESDaily_20230528+CID_dc743f802f4ec77ae58acf1d01e9e092&utm_source=CM&utm_term=Time%20Isnt%20Money –The time structures we operate under aren’t arbitrary; they’re designed to support capitalism, and, as workers, we’re selling our time. Implicit in this line of thought is a question: What do we lose when we’re forced to sell our time to capitalism? This exposition is, in part, to show readers that “time is money” isn’t written in stone and that we would benefit from questioning it. “When the relationship of time to literal money is expressed as a natural fact, it obscures the political relationship between the seller of time and its buyer,” Odell argues.

The joke is on We The People if we think the only victim of industrialization is nature. —

“Is it ever possible to pursue and experience refreshment and joy outside of capitalism?”
