IF YOU DON’T USE IT YOU LOSE IT
Consider the progress in terms of good health, peace, and equality over just 100 years. It is almost impossible to imagine that I was born only 30 years after the ratification of Suffrage for Women. That NOW is only about 50 years old is even as fascinating. That the right for a woman to control her own body in 2022 is on the line is disturbing; but compared to the journey, just a bump in the road. It is a reminder that freedom and autonomy is each a journey, not a destination. The ERA could be an important goal for young women going forward. The success of the past, emerging from the deepest rights violations, reminds that the successes can be even sweeter. Loss of gains made were quite predictable to those not heady with hubris of the freedom and autonomy handed to them on silver platters.

Between the push for the ERA and voting rights, the midterm elections, a Supreme Court decision that will determine the future of abortion access and more, 2022 is shaping up to be a crucial year. We promise to keep you in the know—if you promise to join us, and keep fighting for change.–end of msmag info–https://www.archives.gov/historical-docs/19th-amendment#:~:text=Passed%20by%20Congress%20June%204,decades%20of%20agitation%20and%20protest. —
Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment guarantees all American women the right to vote. Achieving this milestone required a lengthy and difficult struggle; victory took decades of agitation and protest. Beginning in the mid-19th century, several generations of woman suffrage supporters lectured, wrote, marched, lobbied, and practiced civil disobedience to achieve what many Americans considered a radical change of the Constitution. Few early supporters lived to see final victory in 1920.–end of archives info–

Progress in terms of privilege, greed and exploitation continues—-https://www.desmog.com/2021/12/20/ground-flare-exxon-sabic-plastics-petrochemical-plant-gulf-mexico-texas/?utm_source=DeSmog%27s+Weekly+Newsletter –Castillo clarified that the “barbecue” was a ground flare at the $10 billion manufacturing complex — a joint venture between ExxonMobil and Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) known as Gulf Coast Growth Ventures (GCGV). The site is home to the world’s largest ethane steam cracker plant, which will feed the production of nurdles – tiny pellets that form the building blocks for plastic products.
The ground flare at the Exxon-SABIC plant lit up the sky and was visible for miles. It alarmed many who hadn’t seen warnings posted on social media or gotten an email alert from the facility. The email said the ground flare “will create a glowing effect near ground level and produce a rumbling sound.”

Michael Knowles Discusses His Podcast & Political News of the Day
Conservative political commentator Michael Knowles, host of “The Michael Knowles Show” at The Daily Wire, discusses his podcast and news of the day.–end of c-span info–
A system of capitalism regulated by government according to principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic could work in the USA. The Supreme Court decision called Citizens United that interjected money into elections also promoted corruption. When the people gaining wealth in the system are the same who pass legislation, the system is corrupt. This is “running government like a business” that on a continuum becomes organized crime.
It is said that the best way to hide something is in plain sight. And so we have the Democratic/Republic duopoly with each branch self-describing as the champion of democracy while functioning according to ostensible fascism. Fascism is feared by some nations that were intimately impacted by WWII and fascism, against which said nations fought and died.
US bureaucrats and politicians need to be more clear about promotion of so-called capitalism into said nations, and in FACT into the USA. It may not be better wielded by the USA than by another nation.
Michael Knowles is a smooth mouthpiece for what he calls middle right policies. He can as realistically call himself a mouthpiece for middle left ideas….tomato/tomoto….

The very stuff of life is food, and could be a topic of interest to those consuming food.
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3777541/ –Are human genes patentable? On June 13, the Supreme Court gave its long-awaited answer—a unanimous “no.” The case, Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics,1 has generated enormous interest among medical institutions, industry organizations, patient advocacy groups, and scientists. “Life’s instructions,” James Watson asserted in one of 49 amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs, “ought not be controlled by legal monopolies created at the whim of Congress or the courts.” For some, the gene patents were a symbol of a shrinking commons and an over-reaching patent system that traded too much monopolistic power for too little innovation. For others, the challenge to Myriad’s gene patents amounted to an attack on the intellectual property protections that fuel private investment in biomedical discovery.–end of ncbi info–
