WHEN TECHNOLOGY WORKS

C-Span isn’t coming in this weekend, as it often reacts when there is a heavy cloud cover. The less technologically-touchy NPR, however, is coming in just fine. All the technology required is to plug the radio into the wall, if our local grid is still functioning. Advertising has ignored the FACT that the more complicated the technology, the less dependable it is. And so do our industry-purchased politicians so ignore. But the money is nice.

OLIGARCHS vs HUMANITY

US incursions around the globe are explained by saying it is “spreading democracy around the world”. Which nation in the last 50 years subjected to US benevolence by military action, is better off? In FACT, the USA is not better off and in FACT has incredible problems that need attention yesterday. These problems are ignored by US oligarchs/politicians. And why are oligarchs and politicians so often one and the same?
DENIAL NATION

Hyperbole is typical in a political campaign but should have become undignified in a leader by the time political office has been reached.
CHALLENGE DELUSION

Indoctrination seems to be an ability to pretend to what can be obvious isn’t. This works best, it seems, during group think. Apparently it is soothing to agree with others, even if that requires delusion.
A ROSE BY ANY OTHER NAME

When government is run like a business the predictable result on a continuum is organized crime or fascism. The USA has a high incarceration rate of its residents, a justice system that seems to be in place to control according to class rather than crime, transfer of wealth from the 100% to the 1%, a policy of sending US jobs overseas that further exacerbates crime issues, and use of the military for aggression rather than defense.

The silver lining behind Democratic Establishment misogyny as campaign strategy has been a spotlight on bird watching. The precious importance of birds that continues with or without misogyny deserves such attention
