DENIAL NATION

Hyperbole is typical in a political campaign but should have become undignified in a leader by the time political office has been reached.

https://countercurrents.org/2022/02/bidens-russia-speech-hypocrisy-lies-and-warmongering/           —–Every part of Biden’s speech was filled with hypocrisy, lies and warmongering. Let us cite only a few passages.Biden began his remarks by declaring:“From the beginning of the crisis, I have been absolutely clear and consistent: The United States is prepared no matter what happens.”Does “no matter what happens” include nuclear war? How, exactly, is the US “prepared” for that potential catastrophe? The use of the phrase, “No matter what happens” can only mean that Biden and his advisers have not thought through the possibly disastrous consequences of their provocative actions and threats.—-end of countercurrents info–
A Free Press would be helpful as military aggression by the USA is contemplated, but our state-influenced-corporate-owned MSM is complicit as would be expected in fascism.
As a past-US-government official named Michael Maloff expressed on a news report, the rhetoric reveals characters running around with their hair on fire trying to put it out with a frying pan.  In other words, war advertising.
But hysteria is contagious and said rhetoric may take the minds of some Americans off of our own questionable governance.
The tired excuse for foreign policy aggression that the US cares about democracy could be believable if Americans experienced democratic action.

Hearing on Protecting U.S. Allies in Eastern Europe

A House Oversight and Reform subcommittee held a hearing on how the U.S. can protect its allies and interests against Russian aggression in eastern Europe.–end of c-span info–
One listens to testimony in the hearing on protecting U. S. Allies in Eastern Europe with many people speaking to national security for the USA.  Joe Biden warned the American people of pending economic pain due to this situation.  Joe Biden explained sanctions that, by the way, will harm the Russian public in a way that won’t touch Russian oligarchs.  Joe Biden didn’t mention to the American people that their economic pain would not be equally shared by American oligarchs, and that wealth could further accrue to American oligarchs which has been customary during times of military conflict overseas involving the US military.
In other words, whether referring to Russia or the USA, it’s about the money.
One remembers listening to politicians similarly discuss armed intervention in 2022 in the same rote hypocrisy as was witnessed in the build up to the War in Iraq.  Which nation that the USA has invaded as it “spreads democracy around the world”, is the better for the invasion?
Which oligarchs are the richer for the invasions?
Apparently the USA has a mental-health crisis, as discussed this morning on C-Span.  Ya think?  When adults act like children, children may get nervous.  But patience, everyone.  After said children, if they survive, are ground through the capitalistic-occupied system of education, and particularly after achieving having earned a degree from an institution of higher learning, each will probably be a roboticly-nodding (sic) contributor and sycophant to hierarchical Establishment.
Recognizing what could be considered a bad attitude, one reminds this is war we’re talking about.

Viewers commented on what to do about America’s youth mental health crisis. U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy said in a December 2021 report, which was referred to reiterated in a previous day Senate Finance Committee hearing on the issue, said there is a mental health crisis among American youth. Contributing factors include self-worth, cyberbullying, drug abuse, and suicide, all exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic–end of c-span info–
Americans  might have more empathy for foreign nations our own plight wasn’t so dire——https://portside.org/2022-02-15/biden-fine-mass-civilian-death    –Moreover, that the Biden administration is trying to use “aid” to camouflage its pillaging is paternalistic at best. In its announcement, the Biden administration blamed the Taliban for the economic contraction, and said its decision to release some of the funds in the form of aid is “one step forward” in meeting “the needs of the Afghan people.” In reality, it’s a move to preserve the illusion of US dominance. Even now, after the US has failed in nearly every aspect of its nation-building project in Afghanistan, Biden seems to want to toss crumbs at the country’s starving people by channeling their own money through slow-moving Western-backed NGOs.–end of portside info———-
Need we pretend anti-war voices in the USA are heard?  Talking to an American Oligarchy is like talking to a stone wall.  In other words, Putin and Biden are doing fine.https://tomasoflatharta.com/2022/02/16/ukraine-left-without-a-voice-anti-war-russians-pen-open-letters-to-putin/    –Anti-War activists in Ireland and other parts of the world should extend solidarity to anti-war activists in Russia. Watching the hearing on the tension in the Ukraine, a politician (one wishes one had caught his name) at 10:55AM asked the question of the reason the Russian-caused famine in the Ukraine 9 years ago hasn’t been addressed.  That seems important, and while we’re at it maybe we could address the US-caused famine in Afghanistan that is current.
Oligarchs are the same whether Democratic or Republican, US or Russian…..https://portside.org/2022-02-15/warren-testify-sanders-led-hearing-threat-us-oligarchy        —S Senate Budget Committee Chair Bernie Sanders revealed Tuesday that Sen. Elizabeth Warren will testify this week at the panel’s hearing on “Wall Street greed and growing oligarchy in America.”The Thursday morning hearing organized by Sanders (I-Vt.)—titled “Warrior Met and Wall Street Greed: What Corporate Raiders are Doing to Workers and Consumers”—will use the fossil fuel company and its striking workers as a case study.–end of portside info–

Let’s address oligarchs and the harm they pose to local communities worldwide.

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
Along with Climate Change, many people oppose the imperialism of the USA under control of the Republican/Democratic duopoly.  Use of the wealth of our nation should be to enhance quality of life for We The People rather than for imperialism.  Some people vote accordingly.I———————–That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.
