WHEN TECHNOLOGY WORKS

C-Span isn’t coming in this weekend, as it often reacts when there is a heavy cloud cover.  The less technologically-touchy NPR, however, is coming in just fine.  All the technology required is to plug the radio into the wall, if our local grid is still functioning.  Advertising has ignored the FACT that the more complicated the technology, the less dependable it is.  And so do our industry-purchased politicians so ignore.  But the money is nice. read more

CAN WE ENTRUST THE PUBLIC WITH MONEY?

Hierarchy is hierarchy by indoctrination of enough of the public that supremacy for a few is a good idea for everyone.  That idea may not be the FACTual.  Capitalism promised that unlike it’s co-authoritarian system of communism, capitalism would keep down costs, increase general lifestyle for the most people, and would ensure empty store shelves would not happen.  The evidence suggests differently.  Public/private partnerships seem a hierarchical shell game to transfer wealth from the public sector to private commerce.  Under the commercial system Climate Change is expanding and worsening.  Citizens United has legalized the corruption of ownership of legislators by commercial interests.  This seems corrupt. read more
