WHEN STATE RUNS NEWS

As a 70’s Feminist, skepticism would be the attitude with which to hear the views of an Iranian Ayatollah.  But to understand how others view the USA only seems intellectually honest.

https://moguldom.com/397472/iran-supreme-leader-the-united-states-created-the-ukraine-crisis/?utm_source=moengage&utm_medium=push&utm_campaign=subscribed   –Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei accused what he describes as the “mafia-like regime” of the U.S. for creating the Ukraine-Russia crisis by adopting foreign policies that “feed on various crises”.Iran wishes for the war in Ukraine to end but believes the crisis is rooted in the policies of the U.S. and other Western nations, Khamenei said in a televised speech.–end of moguldom info–

Can anyone agree that to stir the pot as a function of foreign policy leads to deadly results?  Is it legitimate to do so to promote ideology called Western ideas?  Do said Western ideas actually work for the majority of US citizens, by the way.
Everyone must condemn the military actions against local communities, but can we be intellectually honest enough to recall the same by most nations.  When we remember that a hierarchical elite often labeled as oligarchs, regardless of nation of origin, we can clearly see a class warfare of a deeply troubling type—https://socialistproject.ca/2022/03/geopolitical-consequences-of-escalation-in-ukraine/#more      —At the same time, the Russian president invokes the “responsibility to protect” in the name of “Russians abroad,” as was previously used by the West and NATO in instances like the invasion of Libya in 2011 to justify their own war-like measures and regime-change policy. Moreover, the secession and recognition of the Donbass republics copies the Western model of secession and recognition of Kosovo in the wake of the NATO war against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) in 1999.

Have we ever experienced a nation that promotes military action under the definition of “spreading democracy around the world” when it suits them, and warning local-community democracy advocates that the “the USA is not a democracy, but is a constitutional republic”?—-https://popularresistance.org/maine-ethics-commission-votes-to-subpoena-alec-over-its-campaign-software-scheme/    –The Maine Commission on Governmental Ethics and Election Practices voted 3-2 today to subpoena the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) for information about its provision of sophisticated campaign software to its legislative members. The Center for Media and Democracy (CMD) filed a complaint with the Ethics Commission last July alleging that ALEC’s gift of valuable voter management software, developed by Republican operatives and linked to the Republican National Committee’s voter database, constituted an illegal and unreported in-kind campaign contribution.
–end of popularresistance info–Aside from “illegal and unreported in-kind campaign contribution” should anyone be concerned about outright authoritarianism and deep connection with the political party that can be imagined as the Democratic/Republican duopoly?
The notion that the Russian attack on the Ukraine was unanticipated and unprovoked isn’t necessarily FACTual—https://popularresistance.org/putin-lenin-imperialism-and-the-real-history-of-ukraine/      –In 2014 having, having given little thought to Ukraine to that point, people in this county (self-defined Americans and others) were informed by the most authoritative sources they knew, the cable TV news anchors and commentators. They were treated to a history lesson that went something like this: The country of Ukraine has always been oppressed by Russia. It was colonized by Russia for centuries. Russia still, after the end of the Soviet Union, wants to control Ukraine! So it responded to a popular revolution in Kyiv, an expression of the Ukrainians’ longing to fulfill its “European aspirations,” by invading Ukraine!
All this was delivered in a tone of such indignant solemnity and moral authority that I imagine most people believed it. The fact of the matter was that Moscow—having repeatedly expressed alarm at NATO’s relentless expansion towards its border from 1999, having declared in 2008 that the inclusion of Georgia and Ukraine in NATO was a “red line” issue, having faced with frustration the U.S.–end of popularresistance info–
A corporate-owned-state-run MSM talking head expressed ideas about Frederick The Great as relates to Russia.  Being unaware of this Frederick the Great, and researching to learn more, this historical character seems to have attacked Russia from Prussia in the past, and thereafter chose never to do so again.  One imagines the talking head from MSM mixed Frederick the Great in place of Peter the Great.  Peter the Great seems to have been instrumental in attempting to bring Russia into modern times, including so-called Western ideas.  This attempt worked quite well but was especially difficult to the mass of people in Russia attempting to live their private lives amidst modernization that was beneficial more to oligarchs than to people.
The history of Russia seems an endless string of stories of attacks from without, including from the East in centuries gone by, and the current USA attempt to “spread democracy around the world”.  Democracy meanwhile is feeble at best in the USA, and where censorship is rampant and growing.
Bill Barr was interviewed on MSM this morning, ‘splaining his role in the Trump Administration and selling his book, bless his heart.  The USA has problems of our own.
If we don’t like it, why should foreign nations accept our Western ideas.
This seems an apt moment for Establishment to put a sock in it—-https://stephensemler.substack.com/p/establishment-foreign-policy-commentary?s=r        –There doesn’t seem to be much thought by establishment analysts as to how either policy choice (sanctioning Russia, arming Ukraine) expedites reaching a peace settlement. For example, the US has no plan in place to lift sanctions should Russia de-escalate or withdraw. And, given how quickly sanctions piled up on Russia, no one’s sure if the US would even be able to remove all of them even if it wanted to. Attempting to stop wars with sanctions usually doesn’t work, anyways.Amid all their tough talk, mainstream political commentators are also reluctant to acknowledge that 90% of the world’s nukes are owned by either the US or Russia, and because of that, we’d really ought to do our best to avoid policy choices that augment the risks inherent to these weapons.–end of mronline info–
American history explains so much of what capitalistic hierarchical Establishment needs to redact for their self-interest—-https://portside.org/2022-03-06/remembering-black-hawk           –Was the Moredock Lake of my childhood named for this “Indian hater”? I found the answer in a local history book: “One of the most remarkable persons who ever lived in this part of the country, was John Moredock. In his honor this precinct received its name. His house was on the south side of Moredock lake.” What Melville describes as Moredock’s “vacations” from genocide and his indulgences in the “soft enticements of domestic life” took place on the shore of that familiar little lake.–end of portside info–
One gets giddy thinking of all the tiny bits of information found quietly reading through books, along with a growing need to bring said information to the attention of the indoctrinated masses; the above seems to hold true for this resident of Moredock Lake.

Ketanji Brown Jackson Stands with Lockheed Martin Against Black Workers

Although the Democratic Base incomprehensibly votes contrary to the interests of back workers, I for one voted for Howie Hawkins for  President in support of all workers.  Also the industries complicit in The Military-Industrial Complex seem questionable.  But the vote for Biden rather than Bernie Sanders or Howie Hawkins ensured this.
Inequities in the USA are deflected away by outrage toward foreign nations; not that there are reasons to be outraged.

That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
