STRIVING FOR FREEDOM
The USA has presumed capitalism as “our system”, rather than regard for principles of a democratic (small d) Constitutional republic. Capitalism has a goal of profit. Profit in the USA means money. People who have no money and are attempting survival under capitalism do not have freedom.
https://inkstickmedia.com/how-private-contractors-disguise-the-real-costs-of-war/ –Among the report’s findings were that the biggest beneficiaries by far were the top five weapons contractors, namely Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Raytheon, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman. –end of inkstickmedia info–
In one person’s perspective, capitalists who are occupying our democracy and who profit byway of foreign-military intrusion have also abused ideas of MLK, Jr to an under-informed and Establishment-educated public. The corporate-owned-politically-influenced MSM have cherry-picked topics from the words of MLK, Jr., while white-washing, for example, the words of MLK, Jr. on the topics of democracy, capitalism, and socialism. By the way, the time and place of MLK, Jr. was rife with push-back against the Vietnam War, and MLK, Jr. also spoke to that travesty.
https://popularresistance.org/martin-luther-king-jr-internationalist/ –But King’s global perspective was not limited to condemning war — it was also about making change. He took inspiration from struggles for freedom around the world and used it to fuel campaigns for civil rights and against poverty here.King was inspired by the Indian anti-colonial movement, studied Gandhi’s strategies, and brought lessons to fellow activists as they crafted campaigns against racism and poverty in the United States. He was also present in Ghana for that country’s declaration of independence from British rule and the inauguration of its first prime minister, Kwame Nkrumah.–end of popularresistance info–
Insinuation by capitalistic stalwarts that voting rights is a policy of capitalism is simply questionable. Capitalism is hierarchical and does not thrive by respect for populism.
We need to keep this in mind as pertains to our actions against foreign nations. In FACT, with stupendous problems in the USA, shouldn’t we solve our own issues first?
People who were graced with hearing the actual words of MLK, Jr. are quite aware that his ability to consider more than one issue coincided with the activism of the time that was broad, connected, and supportive of each other. The current model of activism of a 1-trick pony is not helpful.
A common-core style of education as promoted by both Democratic and Republican branches of the duopoly both are funded by capitalism. Ignorance about one’s own status in our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic is the result, with a diminishing of ability to self-govern or even to self-survive.
As a supporter of CRT, one also suggests a better understanding of the functions of our government in general, and the characters we elect into pubic office—-https://portside.org/2022-01-15/how-scholars-are-countering-well-funded-attacks-critical-race-theory —Invoking Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in mid-December, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced new legislation that allows parents to sue schools for teaching critical race theory. “You think about what MLK stood for. He said he didn’t want people judged on the color of their skin, but on the content of their character,” said DeSantis, a political ringleader in the latest chapter of the United States’ culture war. In using a quote from Dr. King to justify an attack on curricula that uplifts racial justice, the Republican governor inadvertently created a strong case for why critical thinking on the history of race and racism in the U.S. is necessary.–end of portside info–
The anomaly of DeSantis evoking the memory of MLK, Jr. to excuse political policies is the opposite side of the coin of the Democrats doing the same by distorting or censoring his words to torture into capitalistic ideals, it would seem.
C-Span this morning offered an interesting project of highlighting slave-owners who were in positions of power in our government throughout history. Also suggested was to broadcast their words and speeches supporting this disgrace with words and speeches of current-day politicians attempting similar human rights violations. What a wonderful idea.
By the way, it seems too many of each of the Democratic Base and Republican Base are so smitten with political Parties as to ignore views outside of capitalism—https://portside.org/2022-01-15/bernie-wants-democrats-fight-working-class-they-wont –The danger is real. As Bernie puts it: “It is no great secret that the Republican party is winning more and more support from working people. It’s not because the Republican party has anything to say to them. It’s because in too many ways the Democratic party has turned its back on the working class.”

Disappointment with so-called Base voters is complete.
Monopolies are recognized in commercial violation but when it happens in government it may be known as dictatorship. That is a reason some people are interested in the undemocratic notion of describing as a “2-Party” system in a nation that should not cater to political Parties but should support the citizenry.

The longing for freedom is ineradicable. It will express itself in protest against servitude and inaction unless the striving for freedom be made to seem immoral.” – Louis Brandeis, 1914–end of mattstoller info–
In a nation where everything is measured by money, if money is illusive, one does not have freedom.
Hierarchical Establishment attempting freedom for citizens would use the wealth of the nation for citizens, not for foreign military intervention. Ensure you are aware of “how the money is spent”. Vote accordingly.
Some voters don’t know the name of their Representatives, and how they vote on important matters.
https://countercurrents.org/2021/12/us-congress-approves-massive-770-billion-war-budget/ –By an overwhelming bipartisan margin of 88-11, the US Senate voted Wednesday to approve the largest military budget in history, nearly $770 billion, some $25 billion more than the Biden administration had requested. The legislation passed the House of Representatives last week by a similar bipartisan margin, 363-70, and it now goes to the White House for President Joe Biden’s signature. The bill sets policy for the Pentagon and authorizes countless military programs, ranging from nuclear weapons development to a pay raise of 2.7 percent for military personnel, both uniformed and civilian. Congress must still pass appropriations bills, but in the case of the military these are largely a formality.–end of countercurrents info–

Be sure your Representative isn’t voting away your freedom that in the USA is measured by money.
