REMEMBER RIGHTS?

One was mollified to hear Senator Schumer give a discussion that seemed sane and humane about the genocide toward Palestinians.  This is a marked difference from his preliminary reaction on the topic of the Israeli/Hamas conflict that seemed to be the opposite side of the coin from anti-semitism.  You really can’t have one without the other.

Absolutely Horrific.’ What American Volunteer Doctors Saw in Gaza

— In some ways, the horror of Gaza can be expressed in staggering statistics. The Gaza Ministry of Health puts the death toll since Oct. 7 at more than 30,000. The U.N. warns that more than 1 million Palestinians face “emergency” levels of food insecurity, and that the danger facing 500,000 others is “catastrophic.” The World Health Organization has found children dying of starvation or suffering from malnutrition.

C-Span hosted a discussion on the topic of the proposal from Bernie Sanders about a law for a shorter work week for “workers”.  Apparently this refers to the majority of Americans, rather than to the CEO’s who quasi-embezzle untold wealth via corporate sponsored laws passed by characters bought into office by way of Citizens United and campaign donations.  Is this a form of racketeering/money laundering?  If not, why does it feel so similar?

An informative discussion could be about worker-owned business.

Washington Journal | Series | C-SPAN.org

–this discussion was about Social Security and Medicare.  One is aware that any financial shortcomings could be immediately fixed by removing the Social Security contribution cap.  Also to the predictable caller who said that corporate paid half into Social Security and it was not only employee funded, the 1/2 contribution from corporate represents employee compensation, not corporate profiteering, so to become exercised over this notion is uninformed.

Each time Bernie Sanders voters were disenfranchised by the Democratic Party bosses, one voted for the Green Party candidate of Jill Stein or Howie Hawkins.  This would have generated the opening for discussion about worker-owned business.

The bill, over a four-year period, would lower the threshold required for overtime pay, from 40 hours to 32 hours. It would require overtime pay at a rate of 1.5 times a worker’s regular salary for workdays longer than 8 hours, and it would require overtime pay at double a worker’s regular salary for workdays longer than 12 hours.–end of bernie sanders info–

Nothing in the work world of the ’70’s was easy, but it was more fair.  Full employment was expected rather than the curious new normal of part-time workers that deny “workers” the benefits a full-time worker has rights.  Time and a half was a thing, that was very helpful, as was time and a half for working on weekends.

Yet this young woman was unable to make ends meet.  And so one studied to earn a license permitting a sales career that was indeed a type of self-employment, though affiliated with a corporation that in the ’70’s seemed to have a level of ethics.  One was also able to make my own hours, that was as close to Nirvana as one has found.

In other words, the frightening requirement of self-promotion and questionable earning ability could be rewarded with astonishing lifestyle change favorable to this lowly “worker”.

That so many consumers/workers have been brainwashed into capitalistic-corporate servitude is an oddity of the mores of America.  Young people can create the lifestyle they wish.  The lack of imagination is sad.  A hint of this is identifiable on people who earn income on Tik Tok.

The loss of the initiative of American consumer/workers has been promoted by American lawmakers and bureaucrats who manically attempted fast-tracking of such human violation creating policies such as TPP that imposed competition by American consumers/workers with the worldwide cadre of consumers/workers.  Worldwide workers are sometimes slaves in FACT.  But this has engorged American oligarchs with the wealth they apparently have sold themselves to maintain, by way of Citizens United.

A case in point is the self-defined community organizer turned Jamie Dimon buddy Obama.

Yet the Democratic-Party bosses promoted pro-capitalist politicians over Bernie Sanders.

Watch for the subtle and quiet maintenance of the patriarchal-capitalist control system that is kept under wraps but really quite noticeable to those who aren’t susceptible to brainwashing.

A small city in Oklahoma elected a white nationalist. Will it be able to vote him out?

In it, Blevins, bearded and heavyset, held a tiki torch on the University of Virginia campus, on the eve of Unite the Right, a 2017 coming-together of the nation’s neo-Nazi and white supremacist groups.

Connie Vickers had found the photo online along with others showing Blevins marching alongside an angry mob — a crowd of men recorded throughout the night spitting and shouting “Jews will not replace us!” Vickers had it enlarged at a local print and copy shop. On a January night in 2023, she and Nancy Presnall, best friends, retirees and rare Democrats in a deeply red Oklahoma county, brought it to a sparsely attended forum where Blevins, a candidate running to represent Ward 1 on Enid’s six-seat City Council, was making his case.-end of Oklahoma info–

White Nationalists/patriarchy/authoritarianism, in the imagination of some people.  – Fred Akshar’s relationship spurs Broome DA candidate to call for new policies

– The letter continues by asking the legislature to present any guidelines to local police agencies for consideration of adopting them into each department’s standards of conduct for police officers.

To read through the may facets of this fascinating story raises topics for discussion for governance that applies as surely in the Southern Tier as in most of the USA.

The interference by Mitch McConnell in choosing Supreme Court justices has surely exposed the turpitude of a system that the players resist sunlight upon, by presuming the Supremacy they cherish.  We may wish to discuss these types of political chicanery.

Patriarchal/white Supremacy has used said chicanery while hiding behind despicable notions, such as the immunity for criminal behavior from politics.  Immunity was traditionally bestowed to protect against stupid governing policy, not for criminal acts.  To bestow immunity for criminal acts creates a Feudal system.  We now are enduring a Feudal system of government.  The corruption and greed are beyond excuse.  Meanwhile we get to listen to those of the ilk of Mike Davis as they ‘splain patriarchal dictatorship.  We should discuss this.
