Representative Dan Kildee (D-MI), the Democrats’ chief deputy whip, talked about President Biden’s “Build Back Better” agenda, upcoming fiscal deadlines, and congressional news of the day.–end of c-span info–
Representative Dan Kildee expressed as though FACT that “our system is capitalism”. At the same time free markets seem to be suggested in the US Constitution to one who isn’t a student of the Constitution, reference in any manner doesn’t seem included on the topic of capitalism. Yet politicians bought into public office by big-money interests seem to continue to spread this questionable information in a way that is curious and unsettling. Such misinformation seems implicated in several issues discussed on C-Span today.
The interesting new normal of an inability of business to find workers to fill positions, even though salaries and benefits are not commensurate with desire to fill positions, seem to have made workers reluctant to accept sub-par employment.
Presumption that workers are obligated to fit themselves into the business model rather than to look out for their own interests seems quite capitalistic, and surely are not free market concepts.
Another anomaly is opining by many politicians against our nanny state at the same time politicians/business require uncompromising attention from parents to the extent that schools and media have become babysitters for the children of workers.
But some politicians are opining the lack of parental control of their children, as regards content on social media. Capitalistic hierarchical Establishment seem unrealistic in demands from the public that is seeping into the status of dictatorship.

These realities in 2021 are indicative of the hierarchical control of capitalism that Representative Dan Kildee insists is “our system”. None of these fulfill principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic. A discussion would be of interest between the big-money-interest-purchased politicians and a professor of the US Constitution on the topic of capitalism as our system.

“Our system of capitalism” seems to prefer a system as whatever hierarchy says it is with no reference to ideals stated in The Preamble to The Constitution and no connection with the US Constitution.

Another function of capitalism is hierarchy in commerce in which small businesses are absorbed into larger businesses and corporations. Regulation is explained in investopedia (link above) as necessary in capitalism. In the USA the de-regulation that characterizes a free market has been applied to capitalism that is hierarchical by character. Employers have the ability to fire employees and this is FACTual of vaccine mandates and mask mandates. Due to the monopoly of capitalistic practice rather than free market practice in which more small businesses would predominate, the USA has a quasi-captured workforce in place of free market sole-proprietors. In other words, corporations are quasi-governance by mandate, and can be imagined is a type of sub-government. This doesn’t comport with freedom and equality.
