WHY IS LIFE EXPECTANCY DROPPING?
In a nation where the life expectancy continues to drop and water is unavailable to growing numbers of people, we might question funding of foreign wars that seems beneficial to American oligarchs but at the cost of US citizens.

President Joe Biden is planning to declare Ukraine an official U.S. military operation, the Aug. 24 Wall Street Journal reports, making it a separate command with its own general. Should Biden do that, it would put the Ukraine operation on par with the U.S. military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Biden and Congress are stepping up war spending and expansion, while workers have taken a pay cut of almost 4% this year. This is good old guns-not-butter politics. In the words of Gen. Dwight Eisenhower:
Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies, in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

Some boomers may recall a time about 30 years ago when we were warned to beware of subliminal advertising that was being imagined and applied for the future. Consider the next 2 links as suggestive of that which was meant. Most people probably thought such advertising would be to sell you a car you didn’t want, or cologne you didn’t need. Most people didn’t imagine use of subliminal advertising by our own government against the public for lifestyle and money-use purposes. By the way, may this be a tactic of dictatorship?

Jim Banks (R-Ind.) tweeted shortly after the announcement.
In the six years since Banks first ran for Congress, he has taken more than $400,000 from defense contractors, weapons manufacturers, and other major players in the military industrial complex. Corporate political action committees for Raytheon, Boeing, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, L3Harris Technologies, and Ultra Electronics have each donated tens of thousands of dollars to Banks, according to FEC data analyzed by OpenSecrets. He now sits on the House Armed Services Committee, which oversees the Department of Defense and United States military.
Members of the committee have already collectively received more than $3.4 million from defense contractors and weapons manufacturers this election cycle.

How well did it work? A 2008 study from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology found that “30% of all Americans ages 16 to 24 had a more positive impression of the Army because of the game and, even more amazingly, the game had more impact on recruits than all other forms of Army advertising combined.”–end of mronline info–
Some people believe the US military is in 2022 used less for defense of the Homeland than for promotion by imperialism of US oligarch interests. Honesty could be a difficult recruitment campaign to sell.
And then we have the people who originally modeled a democracy in North America and lent the concept to immigrants. That would be Native Americans.

As you’ve followed these newsletters over the past months, you’ve heard a lot about our mission to protect the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA). You may know, for instance, of our history providing enforcement guidelines to the Department of Justice for this critical law, and you’re likely aware of our legal team’s production of a compelling amicus brief for the Supreme Court in the Brackeen v. Haaland case. Today, I invite you to read our finished brief, which has been officially submitted to the Court along with 20 others prepared by our friends with the Tribal Supreme Court Project.
Of course, given the extremely conservative makeup of this Court — it has already overturned Roe v. Wade and struck a savage blow to Native sovereignty in Castro-Huerta v. Oklahoma — we must be united, strategic, and comprehensive in our arguments. So the good news is that 497 of 574 federally recognized tribes, more than 60 organizations (including the ACLU and the American Bar Association), 23 U.S. states (and Washington, D.C.), a bipartisan coalition of 87 Congress members, and 27 child welfare and adoption organizations signed onto the 21 amicus briefs the Court now holds. This is a powerful coalition, and we’re confident we can win!
As shared with you previously, Lakota Law’s brief details the history of ICWA from the studied perspective of former South Dakota Senator James Abourezk, a primary sponsor and author of the law, who also chairs Lakota Law’s Advisory Board. It incorporates stats from South Dakota, where rates of Indian child removal continue to be the highest among all 50 states. Throughout the drafting process, we collaborated with Senator Abourezk and our teammates at the Tribal Supreme Court Project to make sure our message harmonized with other submissions.
Together, the amicus briefs speak to issues including: the constitutionality of ICWA and Congress’ essential exercise of its powers in enacting the law; the ongoing crisis of Native child welfare; and the scientific evidence confirming the significant psychological benefits of Native children remaining in Native homes.
You know this issue is close to my heart, as I continue to work hard, every day, for a tribally-run child welfare department here at Cheyenne River. And I know it’s close to yours, as you have stuck with us through thick and thin. Your support keeps Indigenous families together and protects the sovereignty of Native nations. We are still here. And, with you by our side, we’ll continue to win justice for our families and our future.
Wopila tanka — thank you for your solidarity with our children!

As one who has drawn strength from the ubiquitous culture of Native Americans on the topic of democracy, which is an action of people, not governments, one continues to hear voices of people who are practiced in longevity, solidarity, and humanity.
That isn’t to ignore one’s own heritage from Eastern Europe, where local communities have challenged invading capitalistic hierarchy over millennia.
One doubts that most Americans know enough about the history of Eastern Europe to make intelligent decisions as to which nation is admirable and which is otherwise.

One hears corporate-owned-government-run MSM talking heads actually speaking of the developing fascism in the USA, even as they may be a part of it. So why would such talking heads fail to understand the same trepidation from foreign nations who watch it spread into their neighborhoods?
Consider use of the military to attract youngsters using video games, and explain the reason to accept the death of a young Russian who may speak contrary to such systems. In FACT, what about the growing number of voices questioning these systems?
This Ralph-Nader link speaks of a crucial portion of democracy that has been chiseled away over decades by capitalistic hierarchical Establishment using money in politics that veritably has purchased into power most politicians. The ongoing, predictable, and likely next step is to have We The Public in their back pocket, too. —

There is no time to lose. Consumers need an all-American advocacy organization to protect and defend the use of paper cash, checks and money orders for the consumers’ control, freedom and the privacy these payment systems enable. In the USA we are watching the polarization of groups of American citizens by the Democratic/Republican duopoly as political Parties are attempting Supremacy where political Parties are supposed to be tools for the electorate, not masters of the electorate. Some of the electorate seem to grow more aware of this subtle tyranny, some have not.
Either way, harm is perpetrated by this disgusting system against We The People. Spread of capitalism around the globe as a euphemism for democracy is perpetrated by government-run-corporate-owned MSM talking heads who are paid handsomely to do so. Consider the impact on people; and remember that this is a prediction of the future for all local communities.

Ignorance about the harm perpetrated around the globe by capitalism calls to mind to question people in so-called wealthy nations, such as the citizens of Jackson, Mississippi, how they intend to bail-out citizens in nations such as, for instance, Pakistan. Will beneficiaries of capitalism do this for us? One doubts that.
Exceptionalism will not cover the check written by hubris of wealthy nation voters. Racism is rampant although hidden within the microphone-drop droll humor of sycophantic leaders. How will we cover the check written in momentary fits of exceptionalism?
****As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-
This is a reminder of how much we don’t know. This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought. We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.
One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate. Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United. But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy. Who knew?
The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw —#GreenSocialist Notes #76
Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate. Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary. This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People. Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ7kn2-GEmM —

Centralization is the lifeblood of the R&D duopoly. It’s the way to enforce capitalism onto workers in 2022.———————–We can do better———-
That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM. In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican. The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.
Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic. Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped. The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show. Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored. (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control). The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression. Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
Along with Climate Change, many people oppose the imperialism of the USA under control of the Republican/Democratic duopoly. Use of the wealth of our nation should be to enhance quality of life for We The People rather than for imperialism. Some people vote accordingly.
