RELIGION AND POLITICS

One wonders if it is supposed to be impolite, discussion about politics or religion, the better for hierarchical Establishment to use both to control We The People.  Perhaps this also keeps the public in the dark about ideas other than those in each particular cubicle of thinking.

Send US manufacturing to foreign nations and then put tariffs on imports, put Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court and expect gender justice, attempt world peace by waging war, expect that money buying politicians won’t lead to corruption, voter-rights groups begging commercial interests for voter rights, Ukraine will hold our coat if we’ll fight Russia and pay for it, the public has forgotten the austerity program imposed upon the people of Greece by international oligarchs…….it seems too harsh to say Americans are imbibing insomnia in their water, (decided not to say stupid) but a serious person must raise concerns……

It’s like they don’t know the USA is coming apart at the seams.  But then, they are “protecting American interests overseas”, …..AKA where they’ve transferred the wealth of the USA along with our manufacturing and jobs.

The Democratic-Republican Duopoly pretend as being 2-Party, but the effect on the US public is singular toward dictatorship.

In patriarchy that makes up the foundation of our capitalistic system, women are uniquely used and also expected to act as enablers.  Institutionalized religion is a tool of patriarchy in many instances.

One loves and is fascinated by religion….all religions.  Religious history is the story of humanity trying to understand ourselves.  That includes investigation into the place we share in the world,  Welcome would be more religion and less institution.

C-Span hosted a bit of a discussion about pieces of religion.  https://www.c-span.org/video/?521359-3/washington-journal-daniel-suhr-rebecca-markert-discuss-religious-liberty-us     —

A topic this week has been about a school coach praying on the 50-yard line, whatever that is.  Apparently it is on public display.  One doesn’t see a problem with a person making a display of their religious enactments; but apparently the objection was that it was by a public-school official among students who are specifically enjoined to be trained by said official.

Another lead story this week is about a Supreme Court decision overruling Roe v. Wade that protected privacy of women.

These pro-institutionalized religious victories follows political campaigns that have used women in political strategy.  One wonders if hierarchical Establishment hasn’t been built upon the backs of women.  An absorbing book provides documented history about this in https://www.goldenageproject.org.uk/bloodlineholygrail.php     —

A heresy is described as ‘an opinion which is contrary to the orthodox dogma of the Christian bishops’. The word ‘heresy’ is nothing more than a derogatory label – a tag used by a fearful establishment that has long sought to maintain control of society through fear of the unknown. It can therefore define those aspects of philosophy and research which quest into the realms of the unknown and which, from time to time, provide answers and solutions that are quite contrary to authorized doctrine.–end of goldenageproject info–

Most people are vaguely aware of the virgin-whore paradox placed upon women by institutionalized hierarchical characters of all sorts, and particularly by institutionalized religion, which the book Bloodlines touch upon.

Some people noticed the political institutional Parties in the US, during the 2020 election cycle, use this perspective.  One of “our” political Parties put on pedestals, so-labeled pro-life women who were generally of one race, while the other political Party adulated the virtues women of a supposedly opposite race.

This could continue as nothing other than political staging if not for the real-life result of privatization of women’s rights into the “protection” of pro-life views.

Another Supreme Court ruling includes governmental funding of religious institutional education.  Aside from the misogyny in some religious authorities, the US anomaly of lack of taxation of religious institutions belies a caller at about 8:35 Am who suggested he saw nothing wrong with governmental funding of religious institutional education because “everybody pays taxes”, which seems specifically questionable.  One can compare the taxation of religious institutional schools with the taxing of public schools, which are similar and non existing.  However that supposes that religious institutions are not financial engines, similar to commercial interests not being financial engines.  Both seem to be. To pretend that institutionalized religion isn’t largely a profit-making entity is disingenuous.

This seems to be different from the attempts by Jesus, supposes one who admits to ignorance on the topic of Judeo Christian religions.  But then, the denominations themselves are a curiosity aside from perceived teachings of Jesus, opines one who is admittedly not an expert as may be, for example, Biden or Trump.

We probably need a discussion about equal taxation of a decidedly political religious institutionalization in the USA.

Or otherwise or along side we could discuss the growing theocracy that the USA is moving toward.

But back to the whore/virgin mentality, this happens to seem to be a particularly Judeo Christian concept, and curiously including Islam.  In other words, the Bible religions.  One has heard many people, including politicians, say “the USA is based on Judeo Christian values”.

That assumption can be seriously questioned.

https://wildhunt.org/2022/06/supreme-court-upholds-right-to-pray-on-the-50-yard-line-can-pagans-now-circle-there-also.html –Retired attorney, Hecate Demetersdatter told TWH, “The justices appear to have made up facts that they think sound better for them. The case seriously erodes the wall between church and state and is wrongly decided.”

She continued with, “I’m waiting for the uproar when a Wiccan priestess leads her class in The Charge of the Goddess. If I were still practicing, I’d take that case, pro bono.”

–end of wildhunt info—–Non Judeo Christian practitioners aren’t the caricature they are made out to be, but are serious and dedicated human beings in their own right.   Some people see as caricatures, the differing denominations aside from the direct teachings of Jesus.  And again, this is one corner of the overall expanse of faith beliefs.  And one suspects the Supreme Court ruling would be challenged with open displays of non Judeo Christian behavior in a nation that doesn’t own historical reputation of a theocracy.

One would find it interesting to see in pubic schools, dancing Sufis, Torah reading in class, Buddhist meditation in place of science class, and maybe Roman Catholic nuns in full medieval garb.  We can imagine modern-day Roman Catholic nuns chuckling about this, considering it would make living their actual faith much more cumbersome, as public display generally does.  Still it would be fun.

FACTually speaking, it seems The Founders depended heavily upon the Iroquois Confederacy.  This foundation to the US Constitution is not Judeo Christian.

https://www.pbs.org/native-america/blogs/native-voices/how-the-iroquois-great-law-of-peace-shaped-us-democracy/#:~:text=In%201988%2C%20the%20U.S.%20Senate,incorporated%20into%20the%20constitution%20itself.%22     –The Iroquois Confederacy, founded by the Great Peacemaker in 11421, is the oldest living participatory democracy on earth2. In 1988, the U.S. Senate paid tribute with a resolution3 that said, “The confederation of the original 13 colonies into one republic was influenced by the political system developed by the Iroquois Confederacy, as were many of

democratic principles which were incorporated into the constitution itself.”

–end of pbs info–

Some women may be uncomfortable in the role of spoiler in the Judeo Christian tradition, when such a large group of beliefs abound that are distinctly unconcerned with this notion of tradition.

The religious dust-up at home continues along with the imperialism of the USA that is anything but consistent with teachings of Jesus.         —

Typical is the US political obsession with “democracy” in Ukraine that is missing in the USA, with Biden shooting off the sound bite at American women losing rights to control their own body to “go vote in November” as his contribution.  The $54,000,000,000 (with a B) earmarked for war in Ukraine, could have been used for lifelong support of US pregnant women and their children.  And so the hypocrisy and political strategy shows.

From lakotalaw  –Over the weekend, in the hours following the U.S. Supreme Court’s unconscionable decision to overturn a woman’s constitutionally protected right to choose what happens with her own body, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem made a television appearance. In this interview, she defended South Dakota’s new trigger law, which now makes abortion illegal in our state in nearly every circumstance — including instances of rape or incest.

As shockwaves echo across the nation and our new reality begins to set in, it’s time for a reckoning. In this moment, as we women are being told once again that we must be controlled, we have to demonstrate our leadership. Of course, here in Lakota Country, we have been doing that for a long time. We see grave injustice every day of our lives, and we have never stopped fighting for our sovereignty. We know that the white patriarchy — aided by religious zealots like Noem and Supreme Court Associate Justice Amy Coney Barrett — will stop at nothing to preserve its own power. Again, we’ll resist.

I want you to know that the people in this organization have a long history of defending women’s rights. In the 1970s, along with my sister in arms Phyllis Young and a few others, I created Women of All Red Nations to advocate for Native and women’s issues in solidarity with the American Indian Movement. Around the same time, Sara Nelson, the executive director of the Romero Institute (which houses the Lakota People’s Law Project), led the National Labor Task Force for the National Organization of Women. In fact, she met our president and chief counsel, Danny Sheehan, while winning justice for a woman who was killed while organizing for labor rights at a nuclear power plant — Karen Silkwood.

We’ve been in this fight for what seems like forever. Now, in light of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision, we’ll redouble our efforts and explore every option to support women’s sovereignty and health in Indian Country. As a Native woman elder in America, I’m here to tell you: we can face down the bleakest moments, and there’s reason for hope.

On this very week in 1876, we Lakota beat General George Custer at the Battle of Greasy Grass. And in January of 1972, the High Court ruled in a 7-2 vote to legalize abortion throughout the land. Nothing is permanent. We must stick together bravely now — even in the face of overwhelming odds — to create the future we want for our next seven generations. Please stay with us!

****As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-

This is a reminder of how much we don’t know.  This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought.  We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.

One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate.  Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United.  But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy.  Who knew?

The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw          —#GreenSocialist Notes #76

Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate.  Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary.  This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People.  Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.

The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.
