Simplicity of struggling toward protection of the environment is difficult in a war culture; excitement from war-mongers toward infliction of military action that devastates the environment and promotes Climate Change is an added drag on efforts.
We need to define progress in terms of equality, peace, and good health instead of in terms of greed, exploitation and privilege.
C-Span presented a speech by Mike Pence to a student body with UVA in Virginia.  He touched on the importance of Free Enterprise.  Free Enterprise is as often confused by Citizens United-purchased politicians with capitalism as often as capitalism is confused with democracy.  One notices politicians using the phrase Free Enterprise while in actuality promoting the hierarchical system of capitalism.  This is a lie perpetrated by both Republicans and Democrats.  The notion of inequality is rife in this lie.
Another example is the quasi-rabid demand by Obama in his time, to promote TPP in which he openly stated “there will be winners and losers”.  It is troubling that this was not recognized as distinctly contrary to principles of a democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  
One doesn’t believe these are bad men, only deeply indoctrinated men with the status and position to presume integrity that hasn’t been examined.  This implies a high ability to indoctrinate others into lies.  And so goes the system of hierarchy.
These “Western values” must be discussed and identified.  We needn’t accept the notion of integrity in indoctrinated politicians or that inflicting these “Western values” is anything other than hierarchical tripe.  We surely shouldn’t go to war to protect such so-called values.
