WHAT WE VOTE FOR
A democracy requires FACTual information and this implies a Free Press. Notoriously the news sources in the USA are owned and controlled by only several corporate entities that seem as involved in disseminating reports as they may be in donating to political campaigns. This further implies that commercial interests and governance are closely connected.
The USA is hampered with a private sickness-care policy, counting far behind other industrialized nations that provide the safety of a 1-payer comprehensive health policy—-http://healthjusticemonitor.org/ —Summary: Despite majority support, single payer faces huge political obstacles. In response, Joseph Q. Jarvis, a longstanding family and public health physician, proposes a political tool: a Super PAC, a political action committee which raises money from varied donors to advocate on an issue, without coordinating with parties or candidates.–end of hjm info–
The electorate so far continues to vote into positions of power, those who promote wealth transfer from the 100% to the 1%. The results are predictable—-https://www.nationofchange.org/2022/03/22/the-hidden-link-between-corporate-greed-and-inflation/ –If the market were actually competitive, corporations would keep their prices as low as possible as they competed for customers.–end of noc info—————Capitalism is not Free Enterprise anymore than it is democracy.
We should all demand this– ——–stop profiting from war, genocide and colonial violence————-https://popularresistance.org/breaking-activists-scale-roof-of-raytheon-facility-to-protest-wars/ –Right now a group of activists with Resist and Abolish the Military Industrial Complex (RAM INC) are taking over the roof of Raytheon’s facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Raytheon’s parking garage has also been blockaded and there is a disruption happening in the facility’s main lobby. They are there to demand that Raytheon stop profiting from war, genocide and colonial violence.–end of popularresistance info–
Capitalism is hierarchical and requires control from the top. Democracy is not hierarchical and censorship mitigates democracy. This is one way you can tell capitalism from democracy, for those having difficulty differentiating.———https://twitter.com/LeeCamp/status/1505368849167826945 –@LeeCamp @StateDept @NSA_CSDirector @uspresstracker @nedprice my apologies for my French I’m still tight , the UNITED STATES has freedoms some only dream about n the founding fathers worst nightmare has come true. It isn’t so much about establishing so-called trust in the intelligence by which American policy proceeds as it is about so-called intelligence that is built to promote a specific foreign policy that has less to do with national security than it does in promoting, for example, the globalism that has functioned more nearly like the ages-old imperialism by hierarchy. — –https://www.aol.com/news/cia-applies-lessons-iraq-debacle-090001982.html –The U.S. would continue to operate “in good faith and share everything that we know to the best of our ability while protecting sources and methods,” said Sullivan. As this interchange revealed, the use — and abuse — of intelligence to justify the U.S. invasion of Iraq has cast a long shadow over U.S. politics, sowing distrust in America’s intelligence community and wider national security bureaucracy. —-end of aol info–
Because misplaced trust in the judgement and motives of past Administrations resulted in, for example, The War in Iraq and the subsequent deaths of millions of innocent civilians in that nation, some people are careful in believing the information disseminated by corporate-owned-state-run MSM. One would be foolish if care wasn’t taken in accepting said news sources. For example, after several years of growing reporting from said MSM about expanding fascism in the USA, replete with videos and testimony from “ex Nazis”, the public is expected not to question the so-called “Western ideals” that are insinuated into the Ukraine as being something other than fascism. The Russian military actions against innocent civilians are despicable; reporting that doesn’t touch upon the agitation from “The West” in foreign regions that have a history of WWII attack from Nazis, seems disingenuous. In FACT the lack of questions about “Western” support for Nazis is curious–https://www.blackagendareport.com/lies-and-times-how-new-york-times-gives-cover-fascists –It is true that we focus a lot on the neo-Nazis in this conflict. It is not because they are the only and major problem in the conflict. But the lack of reporting on them in US media is disturbing. Aren’t Nazis supposed to be the bad guys? You would think it would be easy for journalists of such a “reputable” publication such as the New York Times to report on the neo-Nazis who took over and now control the city of Mariupol. But no.Even The Guardian – the British newspaper of note, with at least some standing – reported on the fascists controlling Mariupol back in September 2014 . –end of bar info–From popularresistance—https://popularresistance.org/cnn-promotes-neo-nazi-commander-from-ukraines-white-supremacist-azov-regiment/ –CNN is far from the only Western media outlet that has actively promoted neo-Nazis in Ukraine. Many major media outlets amplified a propaganda photo shoot that was staged by Azov before the Russian invasion.–end of popularresistance info–
Reasons exist for expressing concern about the sparse nature of a Free Press in the USA — https://mronline.org/2022/03/22/how-much-less-newsworthy-are-civilians-in-other-conflicts/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-much-less-newsworthy-are-civilians-in-other-conflicts&mc_cid=ff9e07510e&mc_eid=2833cdb99b –In effect, then, U.S. news media have largely allowed U.S. officials to frame the terms of the conflict for viewers. While officials lambasted the Russian government and emphasized “what we’re going to do to help the Ukrainian people in the struggle” (NBC, 3/1/22), no sources questioned the U.S.’s own role in contributing to the conflict (FAIR.org, 3/4/22), or the impact of Western sanctions on Russian civilians.–end of mronline info–
