CRONY NATION
Some people have noted the difference in the management culture of law enforcement between the City of Binghamton, NY and next-door neighbor JCPD.  While the culture in Binghamton seems quite authoritarian, ultimately they appear to create more problems for themselves than does the style of the JCPD.

An ol’-boy network may be as dangerous as the criminals.

This is a reason for a need of confrontational journalists.

Helen Thomas Retires After Controversial Remark–Legendary White House correspondent Helen Thomas has retired after 50 years of covering U.S. presidents, after controversial remarks she made about Israel. The 90-year-old doyenne of the White House press corps said that Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and go back to Germany and Poland.

Journalists were once confrontational and spoke truth to power.  Young-‘uns may be ignorant of courage from professionals in by-gone days, but they did exist.  Surely Presidents cringed when questioned by journalist Helen Thomas.  In 2024 supposed journalists are generally nothing but mouthpieces for corporate might and authority.

During the Bush administration, Thomas was moved to the back row during press conferences; she was called upon at briefings on a daily basis but no longer ended presidential news conferences by saying, “Thank you, Mr. President.” When asked why she was seated in the back row, she said, “They didn’t like me. . . .

If we are concerned to maintain democracy we may be a day late and a dollar short.

This attitude of patriarchal Supremacy was on display as one watched the Trump interview with 3 journalists.  The Ex attempted to squelch “impolite questions” from 3 actual journalists on C-Span.  The Ex dis-remembers his place.  The Journalists did not.

Echoes of journalist Helen Thomas.  Meanwhile The Ex tried to pull his patriarchal Supremacy.

We have watched the same from our local ol’-boy Network who have performed in full view of the public, their group hug of cross endorsement of cronies.

Finally we have reached the extent of NYS Rep Molinaro proposing legislation that will undermine Free Speech by labeling anti-war protesters or those who criticize the genocidal and intrusive Israeli government as anti semitic.  Ultimately this exposes both Palestinians and the Jewish community who have so criticized.  This is distinctly legislating thoughts as expressed by Free Speech, contrary to the choosing of NYS Rep Molinaro.  Slick….
