Freedom without responsibility is tyranny.  The USA as  a government could benefit by remembering this.  For those who love to remind thinking adults that ours isn’t a democracy, but is a Constitutional republic, one could remind that government doesn’t do democracy, people do democracy.  This is the same reason human rights and enviornmental rights cannot be violated legitimately using bureaucratic lawmaking.

Efforts by politicians attempting quality for local communities seem logical and genuine.

Civics 101 Podcast Hosts Discuss Civics Education

Hannah McCarthy and Nick Capodice, hosts and producers of New Hampshire Public Radio’s Civics 101 Podcast, discuss the creation of their show and the role of civics education.–end of c-span info–
McCarthy and Capodice seem interested in principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic along with the importance of journalism.  As Ms. McCarthy said, (paraphrase) as a journalist I don’t advocate for a position.
This is a distinction that talking heads posing as journalists of state-controlled-corporate-owned MSM have compromised for cash.  And for those who relentlessly remind that “our government style isn’t democracy”, one reiterates the FACT that governments don’t do democracy, people do.
Reference to experts in MSM has become more nearly a tool of indoctrination, in one person’s view.  Journalism seems to uncover FACTS and report that information to the general public.  Information is crucial to maintain democracies.  
C-Span also predictably included a discussion on the Rittenhouse trial in Wisconsin.  7:17AM–caller–paraphrase–People should put down the gun and pick up a book.7:31AM–caller–paraphrase–Where did Rittenhouse (age 17) get the gun?  Whoever gave him the gun should be charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
This brings to mind a recent political flyer one’s husband received in the mail, just a week or so after I contacted said politician.  One wonders where my flyer is since the politician has my name and address, but my husband is comically, irreverently,and sublimely  unconcerned with politicians, to put this mildly.  Perhaps said politician stereotypes one’s husband as out beating the bushes to murder bunnies, which is again, totally contrary to reality.
But as to the flyer; it was startling to open it to see a photo of a previously-presented as respectable a leader, in the photo clothed in hunting gear, holding a gun, and looking down peremptorily at the public, from a camera person who must have been crouching to capture this menacing posture.  As one who supports the 2nd Amendment, aggressive posture may however be a problem.  Having grown up in a household where a loaded shotgun maintained a space leaning behind the back door and alluding to the 17 year old gun carrier, none of the children would ever consider touching that shotgun.  It was a time when children more nearly feared their parents than they did bureaucrats.  The system worked better, it seems.
One also doesn’t pretend to prefer those who pretend to non-cruelty by buying their meat in a grocery store, rather than hunting the meat themselves, to shoot, kill and eat.
However, one does look forward to a flyer from politicians that may suggest more gentility.  One suggests politicians reading books to school children, or perhaps smoking a joint.  Any activity peacefully photographed as indicative of expectations for local community behavior aside from armed aggression could be welcome.
But we are still grappling with the negativity, violence, and aggression of patriarchy, and may have a way to go.  In the meantime, one lauds the actions of Governor Hochul who remembers civilization that could be a motivating factor in governance.

Meeting must be well-advertised, including efforts to include the Plain Sect communites residing within this region.The National Guard is required to prepare a detailed Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). It must be complete, comprehensive and must be published for all those affected may view it.The EIS must include any adverse effects and alternatives to the proposed action.  In short, the National Guard must clearly justify all Federal actions which affect the quality of our environmentThe National Guard’s very premature statement of FONSI ( Finding Of No Significant Impact ). Demonstrates bad faith.  The National Guard must conduct a full Environmental Impact Study and then host public meetings in each of the impacted counties (Cameron, Clinton, Elk, McKean and Potter).The National Guard has not considered a simple, safe and reasonable alternative:  Set up courses for training at their airports which resemble the Red Bull aircraft race courses to safely practice maneuvers.Previous training flights by the NY National Guard were at tree-top level and had resulted in extremely dangerous situations.DCNR reports detailed several incidents during previous A-10 (Warthog) flights by the NY National Guard which raised serious safety concerns during training flights over the PA Wilds area.[  ]     While using an air tanker on a wildfire, our plane was flying in a generally easterly direction from the Moshannon Air tanker base, approaching the side hill fire header.  Airspace was closed to all other traffic, but a Warthog was flying low just above the west branch of Susquehanna River. The air tanker was diverted just in time to avoid a disastrous mid air collision. The Air operations manager for Bureau of Forestry made an official complaint.[  ]    Where a power line crosses the West Branch of the Susquehanna River in the vicinity of the village of Keating in western Clinton County, an A-10 was flying low above the river and the tail sections of the aircraft severed a power line which crossed the river.  The high voltage power line whipped across Pa Route 120.  [  ]    While BOF crews were planting tree seedlings by using mechanized tree planters pulled by small dozers, National Guard Warthogs would practice strafing by using the active tree planter as targets. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.
