Marija Gimbutas is an archaeologist who expresses controversial views.  Controversy seems to originate from views of past cultures that aren’t embedded in patriarchy, or one may say yang.  In the following LA Times story about her, you will find many said criticisms.  Many women, however, could be interested to consider that women throughout history were vital members of society.  That aggression and violence have often defined “the winners”, one shouldn’t be surprised that history is written by said “winners”.

The reality of modern-day forever wars along with spreading inequality and rights violations enforced by hierarchy, could suggest failure of the current system which includes more yang than yin.  As nations “spread democracy around the world” at gunpoint, this seems more nearly to be movement away from sincere civilization.

Civilization is often considered as that which is healthy for families, while modern nations move toward what Gimbutas might consider as a warrior society.  A warrior society is out of synchronization with notions of civilization.  

Vague excuses such as promoting “Western values” can and do mean many things.  The USA is living reality in a time of growing violence and inequality, especially in the much-lauded “Western value” of economy.  Curiously religion often supports yang to the extent of unbalancing the natural order into forms of dictatorship.  The notion that women are equal and functional human beings is held in contempt by many members of the USA.  Intervention of too many men, seem promoted between women and her idea of The Creator,in whatever way each sees It/She/He/Cause-And-Effect.  This is odd and dangerous.  It’s also irritating and patronizing.

What is the reason for the man-‘splaining to women about Creation to those who give birth?

Ultimately this seems like the best way to prop up a system that is highly questionable as pertains to civilization.

Double-talk reigns on the topic of the Ukraine, as we hear reports of Nazis fighting against Russia to maintain democracy in Ukraine and to secure “Western values”, while warning against socialism, while courting entrance of socialist nations such as Sweden and Finland into NATO that is the figurehead in this action.  Finland and Sweden are wealthy nations based in socialism that offer as a benefit to their citizens, universal health care that is denied to the funders (sic) of NATO in the USA.  One looks forward to funding from Finland and Sweden of NATO in order to provide to the disturbingly-sanctioned people of the USA, the same benefits.

US military experts seem tickled pink to have Sweden and Finland join NATO due to their highly-mechanized military that has been supported with the socialism of these nations.  Perhaps the citizens of the USA who are tasked with funding of other peoples’ wars will feel some relief.

But similar to the questionable association between the Pope and Hitler that is based in politics rather than integrity, a point can be made that official rhetoric doesn’t match reality.

As we ponder and question the work of Marija Gimbutas and her perspective of history that includes women, we may remember that for examples of long-standing civilizations, we need look no further back in time or space than Native People of the Americas. 

While Native cultures of Eastern Europe have been decimated by hierarchical Establishment over eons, Native People of the Americas are sustaining semblances of that which has been suggested by Marija Gimbutas.  In FACT, the US Constitution ideas have originated from precepts from the Haudenosaunee of the American Northeast.  Wisdom of The Founders has also been tarnished by violence and aggression of hierarchical Establishment.
