THE OTHER RUSSIA….LIKE THE OTHER USA
Patriarchy lives in world oligarchs. The aggression and violence are endemic with most of these people, to gain supremacy and power.
https://anticapitalistresistance.org/russias-feminists-are-in-the-streets-protesting-putins-war/ –As Russian citizens and feminists, we condemn this war. Feminism as a political force cannot be on the side of a war of aggression and military occupation. The feminist movement in Russia struggles for vulnerable groups and the development of a just society with equal opportunities and prospects, in which there can be no place for violence and military conflicts.War means violence, poverty, forced displacement, broken lives, insecurity, and the lack of a future. It is irreconcilable with the essential values and goals of the feminist movement. War exacerbates gender inequality and sets back gains for human rights by many years. War brings with it not only the violence of bombs and bullets but also sexual violence: as history shows, during war, the risk of being raped increases several times for any woman. For these and many other reasons, Russian feminists and those who share feminist values need to take a strong stand against this war unleashed by the leadership of our country.–end of anticapitalistresistance info–
The Pentagon have sent what they have labeled as “enablers” to Europe in the wake of the Russian attack on the Ukraine. The patriarchal system of both Russia and “The West” are struggling for supremacy in a way that recalls the struggle between the Democratic branch and the Republican branch of the duopoly in the USA, in the game for eminence in capitalistic hierarchical Establishment. This system has long used misogyny in their game, and some women will recognize the expected place in this game of women as enablers. The open insinuation is sexist and is typical.
Meanwhile and over millennia, others both women and men have attempted sanity against this power struggle of the progress defined in terms of greed, privilege and exploitation.

From Toward Freedom—towardfreedom.org/story/archives/europe/ukraine-a-conflict-soaked-in-contradictions-and-new-patterns-in-war-and-media/ –No one, which is to say the political forces in the North Atlantic states, cares about the suffering of children in Africa and Asia. They are, however, gripped by the war in Ukraine, which should grip them, which distresses all of us, but which should not be allowed to be seen as worse than other conflicts taking place across the globe that are much more brutal and are likely to slip out of everyone’s memory due to the lack of interest and attention given by world leaders and media outlets to them. When the United States invaded Iraq in 2003, neither the United Nations secretary-general nor the president of the European Commission came forward to make any immediate condemnation of that war. Both international institutions went along with the war, allowing the destruction of Iraq, which resulted in the death of more than a million people. –end of towardfreedom info———-Support for wars to “spread democracy around the world” by US oligarchs have been, incomprehensibly, supported by Americans of too many background. This raises troubling questions to a thoughtful person.
We’re a curious people if we see this as “the other”—–https://towardfreedom.org/story/archives/americas/in-puerto-rico-paradise-for-a-few-and-austerity-for-the-masses/ –Because austerity has impacted all aspects of life, family crises are becoming normal, Velásquez said. Violence has skyrocketed, leading to an increase in suicides, as well as in the deaths of children and women. Last year, the Puerto Rico Police Bureau, which is responsible for the whole island, reported a 20 percent rise in violent crimes. Suicide was the third leading cause of deaths in 2021, according to the Commission for Suicide Prevention of Puerto Rico. “[Austerity] is going out to work—to ‘buscarse el peso,’ [search for money] as they say out there—and having to see your peers in a state of emotional uncontrol to a certain point that leads them to be violent consistently,” said Velásquez.–end of toward freedom info–
One can view the Ukraine-Russian war as culmination within a too-small space of oligarchs struggling for supremacy. Along this path is the destruction of so much such as environment and people that are exploited as fodder in this violent game. Almost unnoticed by many is people of age—–https://psyche.co/ideas/simone-de-beauvoir-recommends-we-fight-for-ourselves-as-we-age?utm_source=Aeon+Newsletter&utm_campaign=ccbf89634c-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_03_07_11_08&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_411a82e59d-ccbf89634c-70464341 —Another reason for the identity crisis of elderhood, according to Beauvoir, is that our ageing is a situation that exists outside of us. We are old for others because there is a disconnect between how we feel inwardly and the ungraspable, judgmental gazes of other people. Beauvoir reflects:
A Frenchwoman, a writer, a person of 60: this is my situation as I live it. But in the surrounding world this situation exists as an objective form, one that escapes me.
