Electronic Communism
One is no more impressed or distressed by communism as one is with capitalism; because each seems opposite sides of the same coin of authority and hierarchy. One prefers principles of our democratic Constitutional republic. One dares to mention democracy as we are flirting with a world war under the banner of supporting democracy in the Ukraine, even as we are reminded that the USA is not a democracy by some authority/hierarchy characters. What could be their purpose?
The phrase electronic communism was borrowed from a C-Span caller from Monday who used this to speak to the barrage of information, misinformation and indoctrination posing as news reports. He could have as easily called this electronic capitalism in one person’s view.
The best media source to hear views from fellow Americans seems to be C-Span; although the bridle on the callers is strict. Still, dribbles of Free Speech come through. War reporting by corporate-owned-state-run MSM extol the courage of the Ukrainian people which is undeniable. But Americans should not take 2nd place to anyone on the topic of maintaining courage and independence in the face of hierarchical indoctrination and aggression. This applies to either of voices from the left or right or anywhere in between.
C-Span–7:35AM–paraphrase–host reading from a morning news report (professional/legitimate)–Don’t look forward to Biden’s State of the Union speech to be less than information about the Russia/Ukraine military action. This will strengthen the flagging 2022 electoral prospects for the Democrats.
Gee, a war just in time.
Inability of corporate-owned-state-run MSM to critique ourselves isn’t supportive of national security, or that of anyone else—https://countercurrents.org/2022/02/how-the-u-s-started-a-cold-war-with-russia-and-left-ukraine-to-fight-it/ –In the larger context though, Ukraine has become an unwitting victim and proxy in the resurgent U.S. Cold War against Russia and China, in which the United States has surrounded both countries with military forces and offensive weapons, withdrawn from a whole series of arms control treaties, and refused to negotiate resolutions to rational security concerns raised by Russia.

Russian vodka seems to be the current-day Freedom Fries. For those too young and uninterested, Freedom Fries was the corporate-owned-state-run battle cry before the “War in Iraq”. That war was also questionable.
7:44AM–caller–paraphrase–Covid vaccine questions are being raised. (With absolutely no idea as to the FACTual nature of this caller paraphrase, this recalled a twitter feed statement of yesterday that (paraphrase) — Covid is going away due to poor ratings.
Meanwhile the existential risk of Climate Change expands, along with the risk to national security. What could have been done if corporate-owned-state-run MSM had addressed Climate Change 5 years ago, as they do war today?
The following seems to be vital environmental information that should be critical to the public about our Supreme Court that is devolving in reputation. Democracy requires information. As I try to open the information within the link, google is advising this may be spam, and I’m unable to open. In light of the commercial bullying in Ukraine since 2014, and with corporate-owned-state-run MSM protecting said bullying that has been instigated by Western hierarchy, it would seem the same may be increased in the USA–
http://email.edf.org/q/1HK1E4wbhMgoiUZMToPPp/wv –Our progress in the fight against climate change is under threat. Today, the Supreme Court heard from coal companies and their allies who want to put tight restrictions around EPA’s authority to regulate climate pollution. This case, West Virginia v. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA),is a sweeping attack on EPA’s authority to limit dangerous carbon pollution from the nation’s power plants.
It’s a complex issue, but we’re here to help. We want to connect you with the tools and resources to understand what is at stake and how you can show your support for the EPA and its authority to protect public health and the environment.–end of edf info–(environmental defense fund)
Included belowis a relevant news presentation about the responsibility of each individual to think independently. An example from this simple explanation is the news about the Russian invasion of the Ukraine as though it is an anomaly and instead of “have content that’s from several years ago”, currently ignores the history of the recent past and going back decades of use of US military action around the globe, including Libya, Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq. To insinuate that expression of Free Speech is presumption to journalism is an interesting manipulation. In a democracy each individual is best served by involvement and voice. https://www.wbng.com/2022/03/01/how-spot-misinformation-when-it-comes-online-articles-social-media/ –“It’s also easily manipulated. And you can’t really place a source on that as you’re seeing it live. It hasn’t yet been vetted by legitimate journalists that have journalistic practice and all this kind of stuff,” he said. “You can have content that’s from several years ago and be portrayed as being from current stuff.”–end of wbng info–
So-called legitimate/professional journalists seem to receive political tracts to read to the public as news. Local problems are so-called researched by going to the source of the problem and reporting to the public the findings. As mentioned on 60-minutes on Sunday, lack of independent journalists allows for local political corruption. Political corruption whether local, national or international is rampant. Citizens who wish to use rights of Free Speech are not presuming to be journalists. But if so-called professional/legitimate journalists presume to crack-down on said Free Speech, it seems an extension of this issue.
We need and do not have a working Free Press. Call out the corporate-owned-state-run MSM talking heads whether left or right, who support “spreading democracy around the world” when the USA doesn’t have a Free Press.https://www.cbsnews.com/news/local-news-financial-firms-60-minutes-video-2022-02-27/ –The point was made that local politicians are able to get away with corruption due to lack of citizen oversight that is impossible with a Free Press.
The USA has seen its share of protests recently, similar to those in Russia. This seems to support the notion that it is more about class than nationality—-https://portside.org/2022-02-28/russians-continue-anti-war-rallies-despite-protesters-arrests –“I have two sons and I don’t want to give them to that bloody monster. War is a tragedy for all of us,” 48-year-old Dmitry Maltsev, who joined the rally in St. Petersburg, told The Associated Press.–end of portside info–
And again, for those too young and under informed to know, the Vietnam War protests were as serious in the USA. That was a time when boys straight out of high school were drafted to fight in another war to protect American oligarchical interests on the other side of the world. The protests of that era included the right for 18-year-old citizens to vote because if they were old enough to die in war, they were old enough to vote. One wishes more 18-20 year-old people would vote in 2022. We could vote against Climate Change.
https://www.ecowatch.com/us-oil-lobby-ukraine-biden-climate-agenda.html –The American Petroleum Institute (API), a lobby group which represents ExxonMobil, Chevron and Shell, tweeted out a series of policy suggestions hours before the invasion began Wednesday, The Guardian reported. “As crisis looms in Ukraine, U.S. energy leadership is more important than ever,” API tweeted. The oil-industry group called for:
- Permits for fossil-fuel extraction on public lands.
- A five-year offshore leasing plan.
- Speeding up the permitting process for fossil-fuel infrastructure.
- Reducing legal and regulatory uncertainty.

What Karl Marx referred to as the original expropriation of the commons in England and in much of the world (often involving the expropriation of the laborers themselves in various forms of slavery and forced labor) generated the concentrations in wealth and power that propelled the late eighteenth- and early nineteenth-century Industrial Revolution.1 In the process, the entire human relation to nature was alienated and upended. As Karl Polanyi wrote in The Great Transformation, “What we call land is an element of nature inextricably interwoven with man’s institutions. To isolate it and form a market for it was perhaps the weirdest of all the undertakings of our ancestors.”2–end of mronline info–
