EVERY ISSUE IS A FEMINIST ISSUE

The world and especially the USA have so many issues that have risen to the forefront that need to be handled.  Years of peremptory assumption of superiority of motive or importance by people in power in one way or another, may have violated human rights and environmental rights for so many people.  Issues that elevate hierarchy seem to have received inordinate attention and glorification to the undermining of other issues that uplift so many of us.  A discussion seems appropriate as to these topics.

In addressing what is of importance, we seem to be an odd people—https://www.michaelmoore.com/p/a-memorial-to-the-terrorists?token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjoxMTA4OTQzLCJwb3N0X2lkIjo0NDM3NDg5MiwiXyI6IitCcEYzIiwiaWF0IjoxNjM3NjAyNTc5LCJleHAiOjE2Mzc2MDYxNzksImlzcyI6InB1Yi0zMjA5NzQiLCJzdWIiOiJwb3N0LXJlYWN0aW9uIn0.lRMJPJDnNgctPUjBygqrhaEOohtt4tATbQ8k6vkUfFs    –A memorial to the victims, the brave Americans who’ve died in The Global War on Terrorism. Is this an Onion prank? An Orwell novel? Because my first question is — the victims of whose terrorism? The scattered actions of a few crazed Muslims?Or the massive, organized, government-sponsored terror from a half-crazed Christian nation where half of its people still worship an orange man in a long red tie? –end of michaelmoore info–
Such beauty has too often been subjugated into obscurity by preoccupation with a progress defined in terms of exploitation, greed and privilege.  This type of progress seems to require spreading authoritarianism to inflict upon local communities.  Should we as a society discuss the type of society in which we wish to live, rather than that mandated by hierarchy?  The following local news story raises concerns—
https://www.wbng.com/2021/11/23/sentencing-date-announced-man-found-guilty-attempted-murder/   —Korchack said the jury found Mawhiney guilty of attempted murder in the first degree, possession of a weapon, and a harassment charge against State Trooper Ryan Thorp. He was found guilty on Nov. 19.–end of wbng info–A few thoughts—*Governor Cuomo had passed Executive orders limiting gun ownership*As a 2nd Amendment supporter, limits seem reasonable*Law enforcement seems to promote gun ownership with sparse regulation*NYS law enforcement en masse have called for “crack down” on “activists”*”Activists” in NYS are not known for gun use in their activist actions*”Activism” seems protected as Free Speech*An seemingly inordinate local news reports tell of local gun owners shot by law enforcement*Support of gun toting along with “crack down” on speech feels odd as bureaucratic policy*If local law enforcement supports gun ownership with minimal restriction, but feel so threatened as to need to shoot local citizens owning guns, how much more uncomfortable  would be those who don’t feel compelled to own guns*Is an arms race style of society necessary or desirable?*Does gun ownership that may be posed as less naive than those who prefer to live free of the aggression of gun use, a deflection from the FACT that those reticent to engage in aggressive posture may actually exhibit the courage and wisdom to live in this unusual world without the gun ownership,  enhancing local community quality of life?*That gun owners seem to be shot by law enforcement resulting from domestic violence or dispute situations reveals a very dark side of the seeming patriarchal support for gun ownership devoid of responsibility
Perhaps the resilience, stability, and ability of nature and women are the reasons they are both so exploited and taken for granted by those with more bellicose posture.  Bellicosity may not translate into actual superiority.
NOW has for decades been a foundation for voices that traditionally have been minimized or ignored in order to maintain business as usual.  Notably in this time and place is the support of NOW for voting rights.https://mailchi.mp/1f4215db5f0f/build-back-better-for-women-13453532?e=f9e4231b9e     —

Received from lakotalaw—-If you’ve been with us for some time, you’ve witnessed our struggle at Standing Rock to stop the Dakota Access pipeline and the Anishinaabe resistance to the Line 3 pipeline. You’ve been a friend to us, and you’ve come to know many Indigenous water and land protectors fighting for our sacred lands and waterways. What you may not know is that, for years, our Wet’suwet’en relatives have undertaken a similar struggle in their own territory, to our north in what we now call Canada. They need our attention and support, too.On Friday, Royal Canadian Mounted Police raided an Indigenous-led blockade with dogs and assault rifles. They arrested two journalists and at least 13 others at the frontlines, the latest in a series of arrests dating back to 2019. The Wet’suwet’en are doing all they can to stop construction of TransCanada’s 670km Coastal GasLink pipeline, because a third of this pipeline would cross their homelands on its way to a facility in coastal Kitimat. Wet’suwet’en hereditary chiefs have refused to give consent for the project, and, crucially, they have never signed a formal treaty with the provincial government or relinquished their land. Much like our #NoDAPL fight, this is both an environmental and a sovereignty issue; the Wet’suwet’en are also attempting to protect sensitive headwaters. In September, they put out a call for support, and this newsletter is an amplification of that call. I ask that, for now, you please visit their page to get more up to speed. As we go forward, the Lakota People’s Law Project will keep our eyes on things, and — just as so many did for us at Standing Rock — we’ll stand with our First Nations relatives in the best way we can.Wopila tanka — thank you for supporting our struggle against Big Extraction!

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
Along with Climate Change, many people oppose the imperialism of the USA under control of the Republican/Democratic duopoly.  Use of the wealth of our nation should be to enhance quality of life for We The People rather than for imperialism.  Some people vote accordingly.I———————–That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.
