NEWS BLACK-OUT
This summer we seem to have reached a tipping point about effects of global warming on humanity and nature that would permit denial as an obviously inane view. And so Establishment has assumed a policy of mitigation as to the impact, rather than dealing with the underlying anomalies of lifestyle that contributed to the global warming. This seems to be a policy that indulges big-money campaign donors who profit by the harmful policies that contribute to global warming, and is based on dependence of lawmakers on the largess of Citizens United, to their personal well being. This leaves out attention to the needs of We The People.
In a May 30 essay for the New York Times titled “The New Climate Law Is Working. Clean Energy Investments Are Soaring,” one of the architects of last year’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), Brian Deese, wrote,
Nine months since that law was passed in Congress, the private sector has mobilized well beyond our initial expectations to generate clean energy, build battery factories and develop other technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
There’s just one problem. Those technologies aren’t going to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The only way to reduce emissions fast enough to prevent climate catastrophe is to phase out the burning of oil, gas, and coal by law, directly and deliberately. If, against all odds, the United States does that, we certainly will need wind- and solar-power installations, batteries, and new technologies to compensate for the decline of energy from fossil fuels. There is no reason, however, to expect that the process would work in reverse; a “clean-energy” mobilization alone won’t cause a steep reduction in use of fossil fuels.
The unfathomable quantities of ores that will be mined to manufacture batteries required by electric vehicles and vast new power grids, and the damage and suffering that will result, have been the subject of many recent headlines. But if countries keep pushing for new energy systems big enough to fully support 100 percent of the economic activity now made possible by oil, gas, and coal, they will not only fail to stop greenhouse gas emissions but will fail to prevent the violation of other critical planetary boundaries, including biodiversity loss, nitrogen and phosphorus pollution, and soil degradation. We’ve already crossed those red lines, and we’ve kept going. Nothing can grow forever. But the mere attempt to keep the world’s big, rich economies growing into the long future will crush any hopes we may have for that very future.–end of mronline info–
One recently heard a voice on NPR ‘splaining the topic of lack of reports on MSM about global warming, that “scientists have been warning us for years” about the distinct possibility of generating global warming for cash. Indeed more than a few people have raised these concerns, and many have been labeled as protesters, activists, or domestic terrorists by big-money enablers. So labeling better justifies persecution by the justice system. In other words, such labeling supports censorship.
Another means of censorship is a lack of a Free Press, in which the same big-money profiteers that control lawmakers also control MSM. So while scientists, protesters, activists, and domestic terrorists have been speaking out for decades about the turpitude that has resulted from Citizens United and oligarchical rule, have been silenced by this system of profiteering.
If this wasn’t America, one could suspect dictatorship. Perhaps 25 years ago one would hear from MSM notions of news black-outs, usually applied to foreign nations. This is a phrase ripe for bringing out of the closet.
On the topic of global warming and Establishment intentions to build out a growth system that maintains infinite growth using finite resources, black-out is a perfect description about de-growth and its benefits and integrity.
But those who even dare to suggest de-growth are treated like traitors. May one suggest that any harm inflicted upon the planet is also as surely inflicted upon the state of humanity.
Locally the news has been about the most violent forms of harm toward women, but that is no more absolute than is indicated in the national and international news reports today.
Anecdotally one would say that a drive into town for groceries is too often accompanied by aggressive male drivers in large vehicles who seem to find sport in taking out aggression on the open road. This is by no means typical of everyone, but it is certainly not a minor event.
That a few actors in law enforcement also are adorned with historical rumblings about questionable use of women, doesn’t enhance confidence in chauvinistic patriarchy uplifted and protected by cronyism.
One feels compelled to include once more a very under-discussed perspective that one found from Lee Camp. It is a description of the subtle forms and actions of dictatorship, one may say.————–
License exercised erroneously by hierarchically protected members of the class of cash wealth uses a pretense of authority that in an urban slum could manifest by groups of toughs hanging around your parked car and following you to your destination. That a militarized law enforcement is used to subdue one but not the other is a trick of capitalistic Establishment.

US Government Can’t Explain This
–end of leecamp info–
Someone needs to explain, with the eminent threat of global warming on humanity and nature, the reason the NATO that does little to nothing to address this national security threat, is used as a hammer to further spread “Western values” that seems at least implicated in the devastation of Climate Change. – https://popularresistance.org/ukraine-is-dying-for-nato-nato-will-never-die-for-ukraine/ – NATO leaders met in Vilnius, Lithuania on July 11 and 12. The major topic of the summit was what to do about Ukraine. Clearing the FOG spoke with Scott Ritter, a former Marine intelligence officer and UN weapons inspector, who wrote recently that the NATO meeting was “a theater of the absurd.” Ritter explains why Ukraine is not being admitted to NATO and why NATO will require Ukraine to fight to the end. He provides a history of NATO to place current events in context and important insights into the recent failed mutiny by Wagner leader Yevgeny Prighozin. Ritter states that the best the West can do at this point is to “normalize defeat” in Ukraine and what this means for President Biden.

For any who are unaware of who is Scott Ritter, he raised a voice among many others pre-War in Iraq, that the propaganda about WMD’s was just that.
Deflection from the preeminent national security threat of global warming is consistently deflected by oligarchical veering toward war postures.
So a 3rd-Party challenge to the D&R duopoly would be short-circuited if we had the freedom in elections of ranked choice voting, that would be equally fair to everyone. Aside from this sane electoral policy, one noted the discussion this morning on C-Span about the No-Labels political Party that is threatening to run a candidate for President. MSM including C-Span avoids like poison, mention of the Green Party that has as one pre-Primary Presidential candidate, the enormously respected and supported Cornel West. A Free Press is necessary in a democracy.

Exclusive: Interview with Presidential Candidate Dr. Cornel West
–end of cornelwest info–
Cornel West is not as yet the Presidential candidate for the Green Party, but he is in the run. You won’t know his popularity by listening to MSM, who seem quite ignorant of the growing support the Green Party and Cornel West has earned.****
As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate——–
