Is the requirement for ongoing “enemies of the USA” to use as a resource to persecute Americans struggling for civil or human rights, and also environmental rights. —https://popularresistance.org/indictment-of-african-peoples-socialist-party-is-a-racist-assault-on-the-black-liberation-movement/ —
Not since the Palmer Raids of the early 20th century, nor since the indictment of W.E.B DuBois in 1951, or the confiscation of Paul Robeson’s U.S. passport during the anti-communist “McCarthyist” era, has there been such a hysterical response to African people asserting their rights and freedom of speech in the United States. This renewed attack against anti-imperialist Africans, framed within the absurd notion of “Russian influence,” comes as capitalism decays and U.S. global hegemony loses its hold on the world. The attacks on the APSP and the Uhuru Movement are part of a historical tendency to align African political activists with U.S. “adversary” states to marginalize African internationalism (including solidarity with Cuba and Palestine, for example) and to suppress Black radicalism.–end of popularresistance info–
Environmental protection advocates are aware of the tool by law enforcement of labeling anyone they wish as a domestic terrorist, which label enables exotic levels of jail terms. Quickly the right to protest and Free Speech are wrestled into the confines of domestic terrorism, the better to persecute.

Greetings from Pine Ridge, South Dakota. Recently, I wrote to you about the Pope’s repudiation of the Doctrine of Discovery. This papal bull from the 1400s and organized religion have played outsized roles in centuries of colonization and subjugation of Indigenous People. In that message, I also connected the dots between religious doctrine and the current attack on the Indian Child Welfare Act. Today, I’m following up by sharing some further thoughts in the form of a blog I co-wrote with my father, Lakota Law co-director Chase Iron Eyes. Please give it a read!
It’s just a big moment in general for Indigenous People on the international stage. In the wake of the Vatican’s announcement, the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues is now meeting in New York City for it’s twenty-second session.
I’m happy, because this year’s theme at the Forum — “Indigenous Peoples, human health, planetary and territorial health and climate change: a rights-based approach” — is particularly close to my heart. As you may remember, I’ve been bringing attention to climate issues and promoting Indigenous knowledge-based solutions for many years. I’ve spoken on panels, led direct actions, and helped promote the return of sacred lands to Indigenous care.
It’s thus encouraging to hear UN Secretary-General António Guterres back Indigenous communities in his opening address at this year’s event by saying that we “hold many of the solutions to the climate crisis and are guardians of the world’s biodiversity.” That’s true. From the snowy Himalaya to the Amazon Rainforest, from the interior plains of Turtle Island to the Kingdom of Hawaii, aboriginal people have long lived in harmony with the natural splendor of Unci Maka, our Grandmother Earth.
As Mr. Guterres also referenced, our efforts to respect and preserve biodiversity have historically been met with human rights violations (or outright genocide), mostly as a consequence of colonial greed and industry backed by the legacy of the Doctrine of Discovery. So I’m hopeful that U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland of the Laguna Pueblo is correct in remarking at this year’s Forum, “Indigenous Peoples are experiencing a new era unfolding worldwide.”
Onward….
Wopila tanka — my gratitude for your solidarity!

McIntosh 21 U.S. 543 (1823). Early leaders of the United States were only too happy to recognize the whole lie that Europeans gained a right of “discovery” merely by landing on our shores and performing various rituals. It is by this Doctrine that every subsequent decision of the U.S. Supreme Court and other subordinate courts reinforce this inherently racist and oppressive view of us.

Patriarchy has a history of collaboration with institutionalized religion to suppress others. If the beliefs of others are so threatening to institutions, one wonders how stable is their own belief system.
https://wildhunt.org/2023/04/editorial-spiritual-warfare-rhetoric-and-anti-pagan-sentiment-is-reaching-contagion.html –Growing segments of Christian denominations and other conservative faiths are targeting “the occult,” claiming it is a dangerous societal trend that must be exposed. Commensurate with that rise is an increase in Christian media attention about “spiritual warfare” and the need for surveillance and elimination of occult movements – which includes “Witchcraft” and “Paganism.”

So was it Republicans or Democrats who wrote the laws that transferred the wealth of the nation from the 100% to the 1%, and which Administrations signed into law the bills? Would anyone be surprised to learn the duopoly branches collaborated? And both received campaign donations from industry in so doing. And to further enhance this system, industry-mandated education of the financial-industry personnel taught transfer of wealth under the guise of economics. —

History has excluded the reality of many women. I was fascinated while reading poems by Emily Dickinson, to realize this nearly-cloistered woman was so much more worldly wise than many highly educated and sophisticated people in 2023, who are probably not aware of punishment imposed upon others, and to a large extent women, in efforts by patriarchy to dominance.
Perhaps along with seeking degrees of graduation from modern-day institutions of higher learning, our youngsters should be informed about those who went before in reality, and not as written into patriarchal history.

Auto-da-fé — the burning of a heretic by the Spanish Inquisition.
“he was burned at the stake in what was arguably the biggest auto-da-fé ever in New Spain”
—-end of definition—-
The Spanish Inquisition seems to have been directed toward so-called heresy as imagined by patriarchal institutions. Practices perfected in this time seemed to extend into the Middle Ages Witch trials.
One finds it curious that such a noteworthy practice in our common backgrounds, go unmentioned.
The same patriarchy that wrote laws to undermine women, also did the same for those they wished to colonize. Was this accidental, or intentional? And by he way, nature was also in the cross hairs.

http://ili.nativeweb.org/sdrm_art.html —When Christopher Columbus first set foot on the white sands of Guanahani island, he performed a ceremony to “take possession” of the land for the king and queen of Spain, acting under the international laws of Western Christendom. Although the story of Columbus’ “discovery” has taken on mythological proportions in most of the Western world, few people are aware that his act of “possession” was based on a religious doctrine now known in history as the Doctrine of Discovery. Even fewer people realize that today – five centuries later – the United States government still uses this archaic Judeo-Christian doctrine to deny the rights of Native American Indians.
