C-Span hosted a discussion with Grover Norquist, the anti-corporate-tax lobbyist. His sales presentation for capitalism is quite ’80’s. It’s like the public hasn’t lived the reality and has experience to compare alongside his fantasy.

Having experienced the financial change through the ’80’s including urging from the Reagan Administration to trust their theory called “Trickle Down”, followed by de-regulation as insisted upon by capitalistic hierarchical Establishment that demanded faith in their honesty in financial matters, the admonishments from lobbyist Norquist are quite familiar.
A conversation between a Constitutional scholar and lobbyist Norquist would be of interest. Corporations were forbidden from attempting to influence elections, public policy, and other realms of civic society.Initially, the privilege of incorporation was granted selectively to enable activities that benefited the public, such as construction of roads or canals. Lobbyist Norquist spoke of the harm to the public if the stock market value decreased. This could be remedied by sole-proprietorship by the public, defined benefit retirement plans from corporations to workers, and education about the safer savings accounts for the public. In the stock market, enforcement of ROR by the financial institutions is surely not a free market. Bankruptcy by a corporation into which one has invested means the investor loses all of their so-called IRA retirement account. Lobbyist Norquist didn’t mention these FACTS. The implication we should only consider the high of a bull market, overlooking the bear markets. Both happen.
The concepts of capitalism have hitched its wagon to the star of free markets as being one and the same. They are not. Consider for yourself—

One would offer too similar concepts of economics if one didn’t also at least have a superficial idea about other economic perspectives. In anyone’s study, should be included Karl Marx’ Communist Manifesto. We would seem to be better served by simply adhering to principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic that spells out a solid form of government that encompasses much more than only the economic well-being of Establishment. Consider the Preamble to the US Constitution–We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.—end of preamble——

To be quite frank, one is as troubled by the shenanigans of both branches of the Democratic/Republican duopoly, that have worked a monopoly on elections in the USA. This nation was not intended to value political Parties over the wishes of the electorate. The duopoly has seized control of elections that should be non-partisan (and we must refer to non-partisan rather than bi-partisan in order to escape control by words) and tolerant of other political Parties.
The Republican/Democratic duopoly are driven by lobbyists and big-money campaign contributions. Jump into the information for yourself. You won’t learn much from political Party strategists and/or lobbyists.
