The US government seems more involved in policing the globe than protecting the US public. Lack of a 1-payer universal health care policy is an example, at the same time the Pentagon is absorbing the wealth of the nation with no accountability and in FACT with disturbing evidence of having misplaced $22,000,000,000,000 (with a T) of taxpayer money. C-Span hosted a discussion in which a caller questioned the reason for foreign aid to Israel, that is a wealthy nation. Where is that money going and to what end? Why is a wealthy foreign nation prioritized over a US public that is in need?

Aside from denial, the US government is not doing its job of protecting the US mainland, Hawaii, and Alaska, rather than protecting the interests of oligarchs around the globe. That the MAGA crowd and the Democratic Base continue to support the R&D duopoly feels indicative of indoctrination.
To replace global-oligarchical excellence for excellence for local US communities could be a first step in what could be called a type of degrowth that coincides with principles of the US Constitution, and will make the USA safer and healthier.
By the way, these principles of care for US citizens rather than global oligarchs, could have been been a restraint to igniting the Russia/Ukraine War, that seems obviously to have begun with the threat of NATO on the border of Russia.
And speaking of NATO, we must question US involvement with the NATO nations in the Ukraine neighborhood often offer a 1-payer health care system to their citizens while letting US citizens pay for the Ukraine/Russia War.
In the same way we are veering more surely toward Climate Change, have we as a species veered toward armed conflict. If we can’t do better, any pretension to intelligence must be questioned.

Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate. Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary. This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People. Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
