BOYCOTT IN DEMOCRACY

When the public is disturbingly susceptible to Establishment sound-bite phrases and hierarchical pandering, we may forget to think for ourselves.  Consider “free trade” and the curious insinuation by capitalists that they are the foundation of this system, and that it is good for you.—

https://mailchi.mp/nader/damages-from-corporate-managed-free-trade-8x9ew7lw4j?e=cfd1bea9b5        –The theory’s endurance was remarkably resistant to contrary obvious empirical evidence. Whether Ricardo envisioned it or not, “free trade” became an instrument of colonialism, entrenching poor nations in the extraction and exportation of natural resources while becoming almost totally dependent on western nations’ value-added manufactured products. “Iron ore for iron weapons,” as one observer summed it up. Tragically, too often, the weapons came with the invaders/oppressors.

Fast forward to today’s supply chain crisis disrupting the flow of commerce. Why does the world’s largest economy and technology leader have a supply chain problem forcing businesses and consumers to helplessly wait for simple and complex goods to arrive at our shores? Why did we find ourselves in March 2020 desperately waiting on an Italian factory to sell us simple protective equipment to safeguard patients, nurses, and physicians to address the pandemic’s deadly arrival? Answer – the touted theory of comparative advantage embedded in so-called “free trade.”

In reality, there is no such thing. It is corporate-managed trade under the guise of “free trade.”

The farmer-thinker, Berry, listed numerous erroneous assumptions behind corporatist global trade. A few follow:–end of ralphnader info–

The Supreme Court is insinuating adherence to historical principles of governance in the USA.  Reality needs FACTS.

From lakotalaw—-

Today, it happened. The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. This horrifying decision eliminating our right to choose what we do with our own bodies is an affront to birthing people everywhere, and it will needlessly create a healthcare crisis with an outsized impact on women of color. It’s also sadly symbolic of this nation’s long history of disregarding our rights and our lives.

On that note, you may recall that, just over a year ago, we published a hard-hitting blog discussing the horrifying discovery of 215 unmarked graves of First Nations children on the grounds of former Canadian residential schools. Then, a few months back, my Unci Madonna shared with you our own family’s harrowing journey through U.S. boarding schools set up to convert Native children to the ways of the colonizer.

Now, under the direction of U.S. Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland — a tribal member of the Pueblo of Laguna who understands the real history — the federal government has released a comprehensive report outlining the scope of its own 150-year culpability in genocidal policy toward us as Native Peoples.

If you can set aside the time and are willing to sit with difficult material, I encourage you to read the entire 105-page Federal Indian Boarding School Initiative Investigative Report. It pulls no punches in its descriptions of the horrifying conditions the children faced in these institutions — even the “hunting” of them if they dared to run away back to their family homes.

The schools were, of course, there to help accomplish what the report describes as a twin policy of “Indian territorial dispossession and Indian assimilation, including through education.” Here’s how the U.S. Senate put it, as quoted in the report: “Beginning with President Washington, the stated policy of the Federal Government was to replace the Indian’s culture with our own. This was considered ‘advisable’ as the cheapest and safest way of subduing the Indians, of providing a safe habitat for the country’s white inhabitants, of helping the whites acquire desirable land, and of changing the Indian’s economy so that he would be content with less land. Education was a weapon by which these goals were to be accomplished.”

The report also states that at least 500 children are known to have died in these halls of “education,” a count that will no doubt rise significantly with further research. The investigation has “identified marked or unmarked burial sites at approximately 53” of the 408 schools across the Federal Indian boarding school system. The specific locations have not been released.

It’s important to remember that this report focuses only on federal Indian boarding schools. But there were many more of these institutions — where children were forced to perform manual labor, perform military drills, speak only English, undergo corporal punishment, and discipline younger students. We are still only scratching the surface of how widespread the government’s attempt was to wipe out our Native cultures.

Given the scope of the violations, and the lasting generational trauma inflicted on our communities, it’s critical that we find a path that helps us move forward in a good way. Right now, to help begin that process, Congress is considering passing truth and healing legislation. Your solidarity can make a difference, so if you have not already done so, I ask you to email your reps, tell them to pass the bills before both the Senate and the House, and share this action with your loved ones. —-end of lakotalaw info–

One might think the story of the USA includes predatory behavior.

By the way, unlike most modern and industrialized nations in the world, the USA needs and does not have a universal health care system.  The USA supports a profiteering health industry that makes more money on disease than good health of the public.

And Claudia Tenney, who I didn’t vote for and I have no reassurance my vote was counted in the curiously inept election that placed her in power, seems to be against Choice.  Before voting for Claudia Tenney, ask her about this, when she comes up for re-election.

NYS has strong pro-Choice laws in place, and this can change depending on the voters involvement.  Be sure for whom you vote.  To “hold your nose and vote” seems to be a fools game.

Neither the Democratic branch or the Republican branch of the political-Party duopoly have protected the autonomy of women.  When the topic of women’s autonomy could have been a debate issue in the 2020 Presidential campaign, the Democratic-Party campaign strategists vilified women…..especially white women (to use the phrase coined by said strategists)…..for many evils of the nation, usually acted out by men.  Many women jumped on this political-game bandwagon.

This brings us around to enablers.  Patriarchy is a system of control by hierarchical Establishment that is based on a specifically masculine view of the world.  We are out of balance and in actuality care nothing about women or children as a nation.  If we did we wouldn’t support so viciously the War in Ukraine.  It is about the money, and Ukraine has become a laboratory for patriarchal supremacy.  As examples one can mention Joe and Hunter Biden and Donald Trump.

This conversation would be senseless without remembering the patriarchal system has an origin in religion.  One believes an overarching number of Supreme Court justices are of a faith that has in the past used precepts of their hierarchy to suppress, for example, Indigenous People.

http://ili.nativeweb.org/sdrm_art.html      –When Christopher Columbus first set foot on the white sands of Guanahani island, he performed a ceremony to “take possession” of the land for the king and queen of Spain, acting under the international laws of Western Christendom. Although the story of Columbus’ “discovery” has taken on mythological proportions in most of the Western world, few people are aware that his act of “possession” was based on a religious doctrine now known in history as the Doctrine of Discovery. Even fewer people realize that today – five centuries later – the United States government still uses this archaic Judeo-Christian doctrine to deny the rights of Native American Indians.

–nativeweb info–

Make no mistake, this is a financial and hierarchical system, cloaked in curious robes of religious office.  In a nation that is supposed to have respect for faith, only that of one religion seems to count.   And that one seems to be based in political privilege and greed.

In fulfilling this time-honored quest, penetrating new light is cast upon the Grail Code of Service and the venerated feminine element, upheld in chivalry but forsaken by the Church in order to forge a male dominated society. This unique work offers revelatory insight concerning the descendant heirs of Jesus and his brother James while, in documenting a hidden legacy of the Messiah, it unveils hitherto guarded facts about characters such as Mary Magdalene and Joseph of Arimathea. Tracing the sacred lineage through centuries of persecution and Inquisition, Bloodline of the Holy Grail reveals a systematic suppression of authentic records and a strategic manipulation of the New Testament Gospels.

In a patriarchal system based upon privilege and greed, laws are passed to encourage people into the fold of supporting a seriously corrupt system, considering Citizens United.

Some people have seen this crack-down on women arriving over decades.  The money chase has replaced women’s rights for many youngsters who didn’t live through the reality.

Some people see the value of a strong boycott as another method of using one’s power.

Once again one heard someone say “we are not a democracy, we are a Constitutional republic”.  And once again one reminds that governments don’t do democracy, the people do democracy (As heard on a Bill Moyers discussion).  If women’s equality was wrestled out of the hands of patriarchy in the ’60’s and ’70’s, the same can happen today.  By the way, this wasn’t done with violence, but rather by simply being present.  One worries about the need of today’s youngsters to be liked.  If rights are on the line, it’s okay to have a bad attitude.

Democratic action seems more vibrant in South America than North America, and this is a personal opinion.  Capitalism reigns in North America, is hierarchical, and has more to do with greed than human or environmental rights.

Recent Supreme Court decisions seem founded on the hierarchical system, which by the way rules the institutionalized religions of a predominate number of players.  The USA seems so indoctrinated into capitalism, which is not “our system”, as to seem to motivate notions in some people, that equality for themselves involves moving into the hierarchical ranks in which they can dominate others.  The reason is greed.

We as a nation have so much to work out, WTF are we doing in foreign nations as we so-called “spread democracy around the world”?

Women’s rights are human rights.  The phrase “all men are created equal” suggests much work needs to be done.  To be an enabler of patriarchy seems a sad path to ensuring women’s rights.

In the ’60’s and early ’70’s abortion was one among many issues of freedom for women, including contraceptives which also weren’t available to most women.  But the number of rights denied to women of that era went far beyond Choice.  Youngsters really have no idea.  This is one step down a slippery slope. Youngsters may wish to risk being labeled as having a bad attitude, or their rights will disappear.

****As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-

This is a reminder of how much we don’t know.  This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought.  We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.

One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate.  Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United.  But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy.  Who knew?

The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw          —#GreenSocialist Notes #76

Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate.  Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary.  This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People.  Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.

The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.
