DEMOCRACY AND WAR
War is a perfect reason for government to suspend democracy.
Under the guise of “spreading democracy around the world”, Establishment is demanding economic sacrifices from the US public in order to “protect American interests overseas”, which some people see as active capture of human resources (people) and natural resources (environment) for the further profiteering of commercial interests. Consider the globalism that has been sold by politicians as being the best system for the most people and seems to have given us worldwide inflation and diminishing income for the mass of people. One can almost imagine this is a system of transfer of the wealth from the 100% to the 1%, which feels dictatorial, or at least fascist and/or organized crime. https://moguldom.com/413316/africom-biden-selects-michael-langley-to-manage-americas-military-and-imperial-affairs-in-africa/?utm_source=moengage&utm_medium=push&utm_campaign=subscribed –The Black Alliance for Peace’s Africa team and the U.S. Out of Africa Network organized a month of action on AFRICOM in October 2021. The purpose was to “raise the public’s awareness about the use of western military power to impose western control of African land, resources, and labor on behalf of the world’s corporate and financial elite, as well as the effort to build a popular movement for demilitarization and anti-imperialism on the African continent,” according to Black Alliance for Peace website. The alliance bills itself as a “human rights project against war, repression and imperialism.”

The mechanics of hierarchical ladder-climbing seem to have as a foundation, violence and aggression. This leads to war in many cases. Nations call out so-called war crimes against opposing nations in a process that seems to suppose that war can be anything other than a crime. A specific example of a journalist who has been caught in the oligarchical cross-fire seems to be Julian Assange. — https://countercurrents.org/2022/06/assange-was-stripped-and-placed-in-suicide-watch-isolation-cell-after-british-extradition-announcement/ ––In reality, it is a continuation of what outgoing United Nations Rapporteur Nils Melzer has branded as the state torture of Assange by the British and US authorities.
Pierre Ruetschi, head of the Swiss Press Club, pointed to the broader implications of the US attempt to prosecute a journalist for his publishing activities. Ruetschi warned that “democracy is being taken hostage. This attempt at criminalizing journalism is a serious threat.”–end of countercurrents info–
Devoid of a Free Press, we do not have a possibility of a functioning democracy.

These three cases illustrate perfectly the reality of “democracy” in the West.

Centralization lends control to oligarchs, and may be defined for ease of selling to the public, as globalism. Control is the point.—- https://mronline.org/2022/06/23/heads-i-win-tails-you-lose/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=heads-i-win-tails-you-lose —THE craftiness of imperialism is boundless. In several countries of the world at present there are neo-fascist governments, propped up by their respective big bourgeoisie (all aligned to globalized capital), and implementing neo-liberal policies with their characteristic ruthlessness; in many other countries, there are neo-fascist outfits attempting to get into power by promising to their big bourgeois patrons that they would do the same if in power. A neo-liberal-neo-fascist alliance in short has become quite pervasive.
Such a neo-liberal-neo-fascist alliance has become necessary because the crisis of neo-liberalism has made the usual breezy assurance no longer credible, that “everybody would eventually become better off through neo-liberal policies”, which had sustained such policies for so long: when the economy becomes stagnant, “trickle-down” scarcely carry any conviction. Harsher measures are needed therefore to keep the working people suppressed and these have to be camouflaged by fomenting inter-religious, inter-ethnic, and other similar conflicts. This is where neo-fascist outfits come in; they revel in fomenting such conflicts.

Corporate-owned-state-influenced media has been disturbingly silent about Climate Change and the fragile nuances of nature that foretell the future of humanity. The momentary relief about Monarch Butterflies is good news to the healthy-environment advocates who continue to work toward that end behind a wall of silence from hierarchical Establishment reporting. —https://www.treehugger.com/eastern-monarch-butterfly-population-hints-at-recovery-5443022?utm_campaign=treehugger&utm_medium=email&utm_source=cn_nl&utm_content=28160670&utm_term= —“The increase in monarch butterflies is good news and indicates that we should continue working to maintain and reinforce conservation measures by Mexico, the United States, and Canada,” said Jorge Rickards, general manager of WWF-Mexico, in a statement. “Monarchs are important pollinators, and their migratory journey helps promote greater diversity of flowering plants, which benefits other species in natural ecosystems and contributes to the production of food for human consumption.”2
One of the main reasons for the drop includes the loss of milkweed, which is the only plant that monarchs use for laying their eggs and the only food that monarch caterpillars eat. In addition, illegal logging in the habitat plays a part. Although the WWF points out that illegal logging has been less common in the areas of the reserve where butterflies live, it still has harmful effects on the monarch population.2

Inordinate preoccupation over “the war in Ukraine” appears to be due to commercial interests and profits as one considers that another threat to American interests is as subtle as the demise of honey bees. Reports suggest that life on Earth ends within several years if honey bees disappear. US priorities seem shallow and ill-advised.

Rep. Kat Cammack on Congressional News of the Day
Representative Kat Cammack (R-FL) talked about the bipartisan Senate legislative package on gun safety, the economy, and the January 6th Select Committee hearings.–end of c-span info–
Possibly the policies of Kat Cammack would not be of one’s own choosing. However she made a few good points this morning, as she spoke about violence in the USA. At about 8:30AM a caller (paraphrase) defined Ms. Cammack as (just by looking at her, he said) uninformed on the topic of violence. Indeed she appears to be of the much-vilified group of women……especially white women……..abused by the Democratic campaign strategists of 2020 to pick up votes. However, Ms. Cammack went on to describe her personal background that was sufficiently informed on the topic of violence. In FACT, who is to say said types aren’t specifically and continually targeted by others for the application of violence? In FACT, this is probably precisely the case. The 2020 Democratic-campaign-strategists vilification is a case in point.
One needn’t be a gun-toting, brass-knuckles wearing thug to be targeted for violence. In FACT, the opposite is more nearly the case. Because while thugs throw weight around using stereotypical staging, they may be the least courageous among us. And so delicate-appearing women often must do the heavy lifting of shoring up personal courage in response to the stereotypes among us, considering the topsy-turvey would in which we live.
I’m glad Ms. Cammack was able to set her record straight.
****As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-
This is a reminder of how much we don’t know. This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought. We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.
One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate. Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United. But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy. Who knew?
The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw —#GreenSocialist Notes #76
Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate. Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary. This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People. Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.
