FAIRNESS MAY WORK
The following principles in the Oneida Nation link feels similar to those from 100-years ago in the Southern Tier of NYS, in which employers provided a support system for workers. The provided really livable local neighborhoods; until Establishment ran national highways through said neighborhoods. The result has not been enviable.

Most people don’t object to the good fortune, including economic, of other people, unless said gain is obtained by means of greed, privilege, and exploitation. Perhaps the Oneida Nation can get it right, based upon the history and culture of which they are known.
https://mailchi.mp/oneida-nation/oneida-indian-nation-report-june-2022?e=164b4d6ef1 —The Oneida Indian Nation has announced the first phase of its affordable housing program for employees with the Villages at Stoney Creek. The first-in-the-region employee housing development continues the Nation’s commitment to the economic success of Upstate New York through the growth and diversification of its enterprises and the expansion of one of the region’s largest workforces.

A concept raised by lakotalaw as to so-called consultation, as compared to free, prior, and informed consent for local communities, pertains to all of us.—–
From lakotalaw — Today, we give you the fourth video from our “Water Wars” series, co-produced with Standing Rock, the Great Plains Water Alliance, and the Oceti Sakowin, highlighting why we resist the Dakota Access pipeline (DAPL). When the oil company forced DAPL through our homelands, it claimed that we, the Native People on the frontlines, had been consulted. But that term has come to mean less than nothing to us. What’s required under international law and what should be standard operating procedure with projects like DAPL is something much more substantial than “consultation” — and that’s our Free, Prior, and Informed Consent.
No matter what they think over at the oil company headquarters, this isn’t the wild wild west anymore. There are rules. This pipeline is operating illegally, without a federal permit. Here in the modern era, I think most of us will also agree that no means no, and gaining consent from those affected before taking action is critical. The concept of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (or FPIC) is, in fact, codified in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. And Under President Obama, the United States promised to recognize the right we hold as the Nation’s first inhabitants to have a definitive say in what happens to our homelands.
“Consultation” is a sham. Sending us emails notifying us that a pipeline is about to be drilled under our sole source of fresh drinking water is inadequate, and expecting us to stand aside and let that happen is just plain foolish. I’m grateful that, as our partner in this movement, you’re resisting with us. Please continue to stand with the Oceti Sakowin, and together, let’s defeat DAPL once and for all.
Wopila tanka — Thank you for supporting Indigenous justice!

NY’ers are aware of the governmental/commercial partnership that makes decisions in secret, begins projects, and when local communities object, inform said communities that “Well, it’s too late to stop the project now”. In response, civic attention has increased out of necessity. Due to local-community awareness, in NYS law enforcement has dubbed these conscientious citizens as “activists” and urged legislative “crack-down” in order, presumably, to maintain control and order. Perhaps the role of law enforcement along with motivation, could be a topic of discussion.

The anomaly of governance based upon capitalism is far from the ideals in the US Constitution that were borrowed from the Haudenosaunee of the Northeast.

Perhaps questions are arising about the veracity of the US Senate; and are Senators worth the expense to taxpayers? —
From Ralph Nader –https://mailchi.mp/nader/the-senate-graveyard-for-democracy-9azj90reep?e=cfd1bea9b5 —
Fed up with Senate obstructionism, a group of House lawmakers, I am told, are finally going public, challenging the Senate leadership to rise to the occasion and consider legislation demanded by the American people. A top priority for Mr. Larson and his fellow Democrats is strengthening voting rights to bolster the fort of democracy from increasing Trumpian assaults.

As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-
This is a reminder of how much we don’t know. This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought. We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.
One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate. Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United. But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy. Who knew?
The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw —#GreenSocialist Notes #76
Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate. Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary. This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People. Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.
