DO NOT READ UNLESS READY FOR AN OPEN DISCUSSION

Reading a book recently about a days-long meeting with scientists, psychoanalysts, and the Dalai Lama, one learned that the human brain is more active during sleep than when awake.  Watching my dog dream, one supposes the same is true of some animals.  One seems to recall that only 1 animal doesn’t dream, and it seems that was an armadillo, anteater, or some such easy sleeper.  Don’t quote on that bit of trivia.

https://aeon.co/essays/we-live-in-a-wake-centric-world-losing-touch-with-our-dreams?utm_source=Aeon+Newsletter&utm_medium=email&&utm_campaign=launchnlbanner    —-The mind seems to grow fidgety and uncomfortable cooped up in a body 24/7. Mentally, dreaming is like taking off a pair of tight shoes at the end of the day: the liberated mind is no longer constrained by somatic sensory and motor processes. Reminiscent of common notions about the soul leaving the body in sleep, dreaming unfetters the mind from the world of matter; and, having vacated the body, consciousness is free to pandiculate, ponder and play. The dreaming mind stretches, yawns and reawakens in a strangely familiar place where it can time travel, dialogue with demons, get trapped in a mundane loop of doing dinner dishes or soar with angels. With Jacob’s ladder in place, the sky is literally the limit.

Having practiced meditation for about 32 years, the idea that during dreaming the “soul leaves the body in sleep” brings to mind the meditative state in which mundane cloistering to the body can be unlocked in order to access previously unimaginable concepts and personal views.  One wonders whether one’s dogs can do the same.  One tends to doubt that the complexity of the human being can be applied to animals, without denigrating the intrinsic superiority of perception of other sentient beings.  The Creator in whatever form one accepts and She/He/Cause-and-Effect has given gifts unknowable between beings; and as examples are the color perception of bees, hearing excellence of dogs, and intelligence of porpoises while living their lives without thumbs.
One has been criticized for expressing the thought that life is complex, but inability to see complexity is also troubling.
As has been typical for about a week now, we have heard endless views about choice and abortion.  One especially smug view is that abortion isn’t necessary except for sex, with contempt poured upon women for participating.
One view of sexuality includes reminding that “we are not animals, and shouldn’t use sexuality as do animals”.  The implication is that sexuality is precisely and exclusively meant for pro-creation.
One isn’t a scientist, but was raised on a small farm.  In FACT, animals seem to be uniquely biologically engineered to use sex quite specifically for pro-creation.  Human beings are not engineered to such focus and limitation.  So that humans don’t use sex as do animals is the point.
A  preponderance of politicians seem to have traded concepts of a democratic (small d) Constitutional republic, which surely is complicated, for a straight-forward money-making machine style of system in what they accept as capitalistic hierarchical Establishment.  A personal view is that within this hierarchy, the complexity of being human is permitted to the upper echelon while subjugation of everyone else to this end is legislated.
Another personal view is that capitalistic hierarchical Establishment is particularly patriarchal.  This is a reason that while a crack-down seems happening on the matter of choice, war is enthusiastically sanctioned.  Patriarchy can’t do choice.  They can do war.
C-Span surely received their share of opinions about abortion.  But one different and crucial view on a different topic came from the WSJ.https://www.c-span.org/video/?520048-3/washington-journal-gerald-seib-discusses-news-day-career-columnist   — MAY 9, 2022 | PART OF WASHINGTON JOURNAL 05/09/2022

Gerald Seib on News of the Day and His Career as a Columnist

Wall Street JournalExecutive Washington Editor Gerald Seib talked about news of the day and his career as a journalist ahead of his retirement.–end of c-span info–8:10AM–guest–paraphrase—–(speaking of journalism)  –Sometimes what are called leaks are just really good reporting.
In an authoritarian (patriarchal) system, censorship happens.
On the topic of choice, Democrats are now using rhetoric to encourage voters to come out to vote for Democrats, after voters have voted into public office Democrats, in order to maintain choice, voting rights and a 1-payer comprehensive public health care policy.  Democrats have been in control, and have guaranteed none of these constituent demands.  So what do Democrats say the voters should vote for them for, again??
Democrats used misogyny……..especially toward white women…….during the 2020 Democratic Primary.  White women were heavily implicated in women’s-rights efforts 50 years ago, were ignored in this role, and now that choice is in question, Democrats are opining that this will hurt women……especially brown and black women.
And for all derision poured upon the heads of non-Democratic or non-Republican voters in 2020, who were told “you’re wasting your vote”, how’s it going for Democratic/Republican voters who didn’t “waste your vote”?
After voting one’s conscience and then enduring the D&R duopoly derision, one is no worse off than R&D-duopoly hostage voters.
And if logic and equality followed—–https://www.facebook.com/1839162415/posts/10216427553281596/?d=n   –“They need to make child support like a student loan – where it cannot be erased ever and if the losers don’t pay, the debt continues to grow with interest. –end of facebook info–
A point can be made that promotion of regulation of women’s bodies by government feels pornographic  —   https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/p/may-7-2022?token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjoxMTA4OTQzLCJwb3N0X2lkIjo1Mzk2MjcxMSwiXyI6IlRlbGxxIiwiaWF0IjoxNjUyMTEyMTMxLCJleHAiOjE2NTIxMTU3MzEsImlzcyI6InB1Yi0yMDUzMyIsInN1YiI6InBvc3QtcmVhY3Rpb24ifQ.ukFmW4azqzTTohTRndv6p6Lz9veYi6PZHRdQl40cgME&s=r               –I told this story here two years ago, but I want to repeat it tonight, as the reality of women’s lives is being erased in favor of an image of women as mothers….–end of heathercoxrichardson info–
If not pornographic, it is surely obscene that Establishment clings to capitalism as “our system” while forcing a type of thralldom for women.
In contrast, what could be called democratic (small d) socialism could be a system in which ideas mouthed by many religious people in the USA without being acted upon, could provide results closer to what so-called pro-life people demand, without the aggressive stance toward women.  This FACT sadly brings up the obvious misogyny that seems to play the primary role.
To idealize motherhood, as reminded in the thoughts of Heather Cox Richardson, brings up the ideas of war and industry, that could help to de-glorify a holiday that in modern times, is reported in terms of cash spent to honor women, without any actual respect for women.
This interesting view of Roe vs. Wade is a reason that some “old-school feminists” have over the intervening years, warned youngsters that women’s rights were not ensured.  The ’70’s was about physical insinuation by  women in society with surely little acceptance by Establishment.  Had ’70’s Establishment had an epiphany?  No…….Since that time a simmering pissy-ness has seemed the manifestation of patriarchal Establishment—–https://portside.org/2022-05-08/justice-alitos-invisible-women           –Women were largely absent from Roe v. Wade too. While Roe exists in the culture as some kind of feminist screed about the right to abortion, it was anything but that. If people set preconceptions aside and actually read Justice Harry Blackmun’s opinion, they would see that Roe was really a decision about the right of doctors to exercise their judgment about a patient’s best interest without risking prosecution and prison.–end of portside info–As has been suggested, we are going back to an era where undignified access to choice was available, which means the right to an abortion as health care, and to the time when ladies took a day or 2 from work “for a good clean-out”….giggle, giggle…….called a D&C, “required by their gyn”.  In other words, perhaps not a back-ally abortion, but accomplished in secretive procedure prescribed by a MD, and putting at risk the “professional” and forcing women into the status of immaturity.
But that’s just my view; what do you think?

The reality for too many women is stark—–http://healthjusticemonitor.org/                 —Summary: Friends around the world watch in disbelief as the US is mired in democratic crisis, hoping we re-normalize soon. The frailties of our political system are on display, challenging its core strengths. This battle is paralleled in the health system, with similar dynamics and perhaps linked futures.–end of  info–

These ideas are serious and shouldn’t be censored.  Capitalism has reached a level of hierarchical control where ideas outside of its purview are nearly if not absolutely de-legitimized if not illegal.

Open discussion should be invited to everyone who will express a legitimate opinion.

That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
