As one who is surely not an expert on the topic of communicable disease, one found the gain-of-function research conversation to be fascinating and frightening.  The most worrisome part of the discussion raised concerns about censorship and reliance on self-described experts.

The USA has outsourced torture programs to foreign nations.  Reports suggest the same is FACTual about research labs; to avoid innuendo, Ukraine is reported to be one such foreign nation.  MSM has called such reports as Russian propaganda, rather than to investigate whether or not this is FACTual.  Lack of transparency in the USA seems to shine light on the lie that the USA must help the Ukraine to promote democracy, which seems rare in the USA.  The reasons the USA is vehement in protection of the Ukraine may be many, but probably not about democracy.  The Ukraine has other uses.
This raises concerns about censorship.  Censorship is supportive of hierarchy as is a portion of capitalism,  but undermines our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.

A NYS governor candidate is campaigning on firing errant District Attorneys.  One believes many of these positions are filled byway of elections.  Can a governor fire an elected bureaucrat?  The caliber of those running for public office could be a consideration when casting a vote.  This seems less about censorship and more about competence.

As the USA expands the war machine into Eastern Europe, women in the USA are awakening to the reality of less than full franchise in our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  The Creator gave to women the responsibility of birthing.  Trust women and The Creator.   
Political Parties are not authorized into this compact between Creator and women, any more than they are authorized into the compact between The Constitution and voters.  Use of women by political Parties to gather votes happens on “both sides of the isle”.  While Republicans use God to encourage votes, Democrats in 2020 used misogyny…..especially toward white women……to do the same.  Meanwhile, “both sides of the isle” have neglected the responsibility of war and peace which seems the responsibility of Congress, with the result of untold numbers of deaths of civilians due to military action inflicted by The Military-Industrial Complex to “protect American interests overseas”, which translates into protecting American oligarchs doing business beyond the reach of the US justice system.
It’s nothing but politics, and not well done.
The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.
