CLIMATE CHANGE OR WAR?

THESE ARE NOT OUR ONLY CHOICES.
We have more serious topics to consider than interests of individual nations and the ideology of each.  The public of the world need to challenge using local communities for the exploitation for the elite.  So far local communities aren’t doing so well, but seem to follow the lead from their tormentors.

https://portside.org/2022-03-13/climate-wake-call-chemical-industry  –In 2017, the Trump administration sided with industry lobbyists and rescinded safety rules governing thousands of chemical plants across America. Five years later — after multiple chemical plant explosions in the Houston area — government investigators are telling lawmakers that a lack of federal regulation is heightening the risk of chemical disasters during climate change-related extreme weather events at thousands of facilities nationwide.–end of portside info–

The point of war seems to be terrorism toward local communities, regardless of whether perpetrated by “friends of the West” or “competitors to interests of the West”.  The USA uses the phrase collateral damage when it imposes this terrorism.  Other nations may be less concerned for putting lipstick on it.

We hear much of imposing sanctions on Russia.  What is meant is imposing sanctions on local community members whether in Russia or the USA.  Meanwhile it appears from quarterly statements that oligarchs continue to do just fine regardless of sanctions.  Sanctions in Afghanistan are reported to kill people.  Is this acceptable because hierarchy says so?

Most military actions come down to money.  Any notion that gas prices are rising due to market risk is senseless when one considers the profits by the fossil fuel industry.  Crisis profiteering isn’t new—https://portside.org/2022-03-13/oil-companies-are-making-fortune-soaring-prices    –As gas prices climbed to over $4 per gallon in the United States and oil traded at highs of $130 per barrel this week amid war in Europe, a new report from the U.K.-based think tank Common Wealth finds that the top five oil and gas producers in the U.S. are getting a wildly good deal from the U.S. government: While they rake in massive profits, their tax burden remains shockingly low.–end of portside info–
As one who has been castigated in the past for saying a topic was complicated, I’ll once more express this FACT.  And again I’ll say that we can define progress in terms of greed, privilege and exploitation or in terms of peace, good health and equality.  The ideology of “The West” seems to be in favor of capitalism which is hierarchical and surely results in untold wealth in the form of finances, usually for a few more than for everyone.  This capitalism has given us Climate Change.  Too many of us speak to either or side of this coin.  We should probably speak to both of wealth accumulation and environmental excellence, but hierarchically speaking, these don’t go together.  An ideology that promoted interests of local communities and the general worldwide public would put these two topics together.  In other words the playing field would be smoothed rather than maintaining the highs and lows that generate wealth for the few….AKA capitalism or communism.
This seems to happen in the Ukraine/Russian tension.  “Western interests” have undeniably been at work in the Ukraine, including none other than the children of the leader of the USA.  Russia sees this as a threat;  who can honestly say there is no threat?  And so we have the following view from the pagan community about the tension—–https://wildhunt.org/2022/03/religious-and-civilizational-aspects-of-the-war-in-ukraine-a-discussion-with-adrian-ivakhiv.html       –The first to answer this call is Adrian Ivakhiv, professor of environmental and cultural studies at the University of Vermont. Ivakhiv, whose roots stem from western Ukraine, has, through his academic career, developed a solid background in cultural theory, philosophy, and religion, and has made numerous contacts with Pagans and other members of minority religions in Ukraine. We spoke with him in early March.–end of wildhunt info–
This is an interesting perspective.  Another was offered on C-Span this morning—9:40AM–paraphrase–caller—The USA (and The West, one suggests) need more conversation about the view from Russia.  The West needs more understanding of others.(This caller spoke of many instances from Russian history that is the foundation of Russia’s view that is legitimate with their lived history)
One notices thewildhunt info is from a Western European.  Western Europeans were the colonizers of the Americas, and may have a differently perspective from Eastern Europeans.  Russia and the Ukraine are more nearly Eastern European.  Someone should draw from that view, to gain legitimate insight.
And this circles back to the tension between economic supremacy and progress as opposed to death by Climate Change.  The tension between these 2 ideologies may need to be addressed to understand the tension between the Ukraine and Russia.  The same corporate-owned-state-run MSM talking head who brought up the topic of Frederick the Great in association with Russia may not be the person to hear.  In FACT, researching who was Frederick the Great one learned he was a Prussian leader who invaded Russia, which action was typical historically.  Russia was invaded often in the past.  Prussia is also associated with Poland.  So messing with these past wounds is dangerous if not stupid.
We really need to be more curious about others before we write their scripts.
C-Span–8:00AM–Tia Mitchell–guest–Congress will discuss more sanctions on Russia.  (This will be harmful to the Russian public, similar to the harm inflicted by Russia on the Ukrainian public.  It must be seen as such.  The military won’t be harmed anymore than the so-called sacrifices expected from the American public has impinged on oligarchical funding for The Pentagon.  In other words the military mechanism that protects oligarchical interests regardless of nation is the mechanism that harms the public.  We should say so in starker terms than speaking of “sacrifices by the public”.
A war will surely deflect from the equally deadly topic of Climate Change.  The mechanism of indoctrination is frequently the corporate-owned-state-run media.
Maybe the electorate could vote into power, more enlightened representatives.

That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
Along with Climate Change, many people oppose the imperialism of the USA under control of the Republican/Democratic duopoly.  Use of the wealth of our nation should be to enhance quality of life for We The People rather than for imperialism.  Some people vote accordingly.I———————–That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.
