BUSINESS PRACTICE IN GOVERNMENT
News reporting concern for animals without including use of commercial actions that may undermine what is purported to be efforts friendly to pets, needs to be considered. Well-meaning rote without full information seems to be subterfuge by omission. This may seem acceptable as we run government like a business, and it may simply be another facet of bait-and-switch.

Puppy Mill Pipeline Bill.–end of wbng info–https://www.wbng.com/video/2022/01/27/animal-abandonment-ashley-pkg/ —
–end of wbng info–Locally the news is about avoiding puppy mills due to cruelty in the system, along with the dumping of family pets. This helps news reports to sound socially respectable without touching a deeply disturbing new business model happening locally. Corporations are reported to buy out privately-owned veterinarian offices that creates a quasi monopoly in order to raise and fix prices.
This seems to promote pet dumping, or at the very least leaves in a hostage position, pet families. Contacting local legislators seems hopeless. Campaign contributions may be a reason for disregard of normal humane concern for our pets. Commercial business practice interjected for profit into matters dealing with sentient beings doesn’t feel like good government.
A Free Press could dig deeper to question the core of the problem which predictably is greed. One suggestion to this serious reality could be to promote animal rescue facilities to offer veterinarian services. If the overage in cost for pet care is to go anywhere, it should go to support said rescue facilities, not to further enrich predatory corporations.
Humanity fares no better in the hostage situation to greed and corruption — https://countercurrents.org/2022/01/all-of-us-remain-hostages-to-the-military-industrial-complex/ –Do our “Defense Departments” really defend us? Absolutely not! Their very title is a lie. The military-industrial complex sells itself by claiming to defend civilians. It justifies vast and crippling budgets by this claim; but it is a fraud. For the military-industrial complex, the only goal is money and power. Civilians like us are just hostages. We are expendable. We are pawns in the power game, the money game.–end of countercurrents info–
Capitalism is a business model and when that replaces principles of a democratic (small d) Constitutional republic, one may predict fascism.

When the White House released a framework for BBB in October 2021, the Business Roundtable released a statement claiming it “would seriously undermine U.S. growth, competitiveness and jobs and make it harder for companies to invest in innovation and workers.” When the House passed BBB in November 2021, the Business Roundtable released a statement saying it was “disappointed that the House of Representatives voted in favor of one of the largest tax increases in history on American job creators” and that the legislation would “erode America’s competitive standing and favor foreign competitors over American businesses and workers.”–end of popular info–
BBB can’t seem to make headway; but military support for foreign nations seems a reliable project for Representatives of The People. https://theintercept.com/2022/01/25/ukraine-defense-bill-democrats/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=The%20Intercept%20Newsletter —
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told members on a caucus call Tuesday that she’s looking to skip marking up the bill and move it straight to the House floor, setting up the possibility of a vote as soon as early next week, two congressional sources told The Intercept. The sources spoke on the condition of anonymity because they’re not authorized to talk to the press. Pelosi’s office did not immediately reply to a request for comment.–end of theintercept info—
Indoctrination into capitalism seems litle better than indoctrination into communism. Maybe we should try honoring principles of a democratic (small d) Constitutional republic. REMINDER: Protecting Waters of the Earth Webinar at 7 pm CT USA, Wed, Feb 2, 2022 |
Many manufacturing and agricultural practices, especially animal
confinement, degrade water quality. Colonialism intensifies disputes over
withdrawal of water from the Blue Nile. Hydro-power from dams intensifies
climate change, undermines habitat, and poisons animal and human life. Over-
fishing by rich nations in waters of poor nations increases impoverishment
while stealing food from those most in need. Deep sea mining compromises
aquatic ecosystems and risks disturbing the world’s largest carbon sink. Yet,
water conflicts can evaporate if humanity reduces extraction and shares
resources to ensure all a good quality of life.–end of gp info–
