JUSTIFIED

Justified

C-Span hosted a discussion this morning on Washington Journal as to whether the US should continue to fund genocide by Israel toward Palestinians.  It is convenient that the issues of racism and anti-semitism can be raised on “both sides”. During the 2020 Presidential-electoral-campaign cycle, racism was used prominently as some people whitewashed skin color over character as motivating voter strategy.  And so the currently well informed Bernie Sanders who was held up as being not sufficiently woke by lemming-leader Jim Clyburn,  insinuated as one of higher character, the genocide-funding Joe Biden as displayed in Israel.

And by the way, supporters of the preferable Bernie Sanders were ignorantly labeled as racist for not following the lemmings over the cliff.  If one may be so human, justification feels good.

But to move past political team sport and color waving, character still matters.  Neither of our Presidential candidates deserve our support, boys and girls;

As preoccupation on the topic of race rather than character leads, perhaps the most self-interested and greedy among us can hide behind this culture of bait-and-switch.  But some communities simply play out the stereotype so readily, that why wouldn’t our oligarchs use this smoke screen to their own advantage?

And so We The People continue to shoot ourselves in the foot.

And so perhaps the suspicious characters ensconced in bureaucratic power should be scrutinized as closely as the highly-denigrated portions of We The People.  Just a thought.

As one who isn’t in support of annoying one’s neighbors, still tolerance is a 2-way street.  This seems like a situation for a mediator rather than law enforcement, hand cuffs, and guns.  —  Judge rules in favor of man who was ‘wrongfully arrested’ by Tompkins Co. Deputy

Georgia claimed the handcuffs made him bleed and the deputy admitted he did not check the tightness of the cuffs. He also admitted that he knew there was no noise ordinance in the town.

The judge ruled in favor of Georgia.

Tompkins County Sheriff Derek Osborne said he has a reputation for holding his office accountable.

The Southern Tier is the home of the “bad attitude” ability to arrest private citizens.  This simply feels a step too far toward authoritarianism, generally speaking.

Another smoke screen is the bureaucratic opine that “we are a Republic, not a democracy”.  This cynically misrepresents the governmental construct of a Republic with the democratic (small d) actions taken by individual citizens as we practice Free Speech and liberty.  Indeed one recalls hearing on a Bill Moyers Show that (paraphrase) governments don’t do democracy, people do democracy.

And so we can have each of the US capitalistic Constitutional Republic and the Chinese communistic Constitutional Republic, in place of democracy.  Let’s discuss.
