DEFINE MENTAL HEALTH

DEFINE MENTAL HEALTH

Coincidentally both C-Span guests brought up the under-reported story about Aaron Bushnell.  Both women who were guests on C-Span this morning touched upon this American-Representative story that has been absorbed into the black hole of American/international oligarchical horror.

Curiously the international/American oligarchs have fashioned themselves as the individuals with the answers.  This brings to mind a comparison between the mores of post-Reagan governance and the time before.  The conversation about the modern-day incarceration culture in the US brought up a comparison with pre-Reagan governance of what a caller named insane asylums and was then tempered to the politically-correct institution.

For those cognizant of Establishment requirement to deal with poor mental health of segments of the public, one also recalls that abhorrent conditions were too often inflicted upon inmates.  It goes without saying that said conditions were inflicted by hierarchy that may have been subtly affected by poor mental health near which said Establishment were forced to live.

In other words, We The People needed to be as sympathetic to the staff as to the inmates.  Then insane asylums became unfashionable as prisons became the holding pens.  Could we expect anything different to happen in this system, when We The People have ignored again, poor mental health.

One old ’70’s Feminist remembers only too well the fear in the eyes and voices of the women who were before her, on the very real topic of institutional recrimination from husbands where their wives became less docile than a younger woman can be.  This was a serious abuse of the insane asylum.

That is a reason some old ’70’s Feminists have long uttered warnings that the reproductive rights of women were at risk.  Reproductive rights freedom for women is a human right, but undermines hierarchical control.

Most old ’70’s Feminists are not pleased that young women who didn’t grow up in such an age, are now shocked….SHOCKED….at loss of human rights.

So far, incarceration hasn’t figured heavily in response to female ownership of human rights; that can change back to MAGA times.  Some

If one sounds hyperbolic, oh well….be as it may.

But the point attempted is that as in earlier times, it may be the least among us pulling the strings.  Meanwhile, genuinely noble individuals such as Aaron Bushnell are given short shrift by Establishment reminiscent of the mythology of Establishment attitude toward Jesus Christ.

This in a nation attempting governance as Christian nationalism; whatever that is.  But then when the inmates are running the asylum, as they politically incorrect once said……

Aaron Bushnell set himself on fire outside an Israeli embassy. It is our loss he is no longer with us | Moira Donegan

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/feb/28/aaron-bushnell-self-immolation-gaza-israel  – The horror of it is beyond my capacity to describe. On Sunday afternoon, a US air force airman named Aaron Bushnell doused himself in gasoline outside the Israeli embassy in Washington DC and lit himself on fire. His phone was propped on the ground nearby, livestreaming to Twitch. “I will no longer be complicit in genocide,” Bushnell said. “I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest. But compared to what people have been experiencing in Palestine at the hands of their colonizers, it’s not extreme at all. This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal.” Then he set fire to his body and screamed, “Free Palestine.” Bushnell died at a nearby hospital some nine hours later. He was 25.

And by the way, as caught on a 9:00PM MSNBC with Bernie Sanders, he said (paraphrase) he ran for President several years ago with the opportunity of speaking with so many Americans across the nation and realizes the public in the USA far exceeds in caliber, our leaders,

And as went the hierarchy within the pre-Reagan insane asylums and perhaps currently the enforcement in our prison system post-Reagan, so seems to have gone the preeminent judicial branch called the Supreme Court.

This is a reason some people have called for anarchy.  Not being one so calling; still a vehement and loud voice is as required today as any time in history. One consideration is advocacy for diversity in leadership and non-MAGA mindset of the ’50’s and ’60’s. Just one consideration……
