One began to see this discussion as a pro-capitalist hierarchical Establishment argument for the cause of retaining the Trickle-Down status quo that has worked well for those striving to “run government like a business”.
As one a bit long in the tooth, much water has flowed under this bridge. One begins to own an active BS radar.
One will give an example. Probably 25 years ago, one volunteered and served as a NYS Mediator with Accord in Broome County, NY. This was a very satisfying experience for at least 10 years, in which one believes much good was accomplished.
But all good things come to an end. About the time fracking salesmen came to town, a prominent mediator who was married to a self-described power broker (he was a lawyer with a prominent local firm) expressed an idea. The mediator was contemplating hanging out her private shingle, and was promoting the idea of a collaboration between this happy couple in which mediators could smooth the way for anti-frackers and pro-frackers to come to an understanding.
This brought up the mediator-training restriction on mediating certain criminal process, such as, for example, murder, rape, and domestic violence….perhaps even child-sex trafficking.
After all, use of fossil fuels, and therefore the mining of such, is scientifically reported as being instrumental in promoting Climate Change. Climate Change is killing our planet, and therefore humanity.
This relates to the discussion from capitalistic hierarchical Establishment about their enthusiasm for uplifting under-served people. This coincides with the Hillary Clinton rhetoric to “raise people out of poverty” using capitalism.
Capitalism is distinctly hierarchical, with wealth flowing to the wealthy, and so toward those controlling the capital. But the story sounds soothing….shame on her.
This system is held in place for the benefit of the D&R duopoly, who are paid by Establishment hierarchy, using Citizens United/www.ALEC.org.
If these soap-oil-salesmen were serious about helping the under-served, which are most of us in the USA, they would revamp our system into the local-community-friendly system of worker-owned business.
This would cut out the greed of the middleman.
Business owners have many reasons to be proud—and many reasons to consider employee ownership. When we bring on a client, we listen closely to their goals. Not only do we ensure a fair price can be negotiated for their business, we strategize the process to meet each individual needs.
There are three main types of broad-based employee ownership, all of which have been around for many decades: Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), worker cooperatives and Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs).
Each employee ownership model has key characteristics. We can help you decide what will work best for your company https://project-equity.org/learn/types-of-employee-ownership/worker-cooperatives/– Coops are a popular choice because of the many benefits, the lower setup cost and the full range of democratic values.

Some people see the current business model of capitalism, at this point, as quasi slavery.

Ross Perot in 1992 on NAFTA and the “Giant Sucking Sound”Centralization is the lifeblood of the R&D duopoly. It’s the way to enforce capitalism onto workers in 2022.———————–We can do better———-That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM. In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican. The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.
Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic. Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped. The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show. Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored. (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control). The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression. Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.
