MONEY AND DEMOCRACY

Imperialism is the story of oligarchs.  These privileged exploiters hide behind government policy that is enabled by their campaign donations and lobbies.  They ‘splain their worth to the public as philanthropists; after robbing humanity and nature of the value of both.

One has heard that money can fix anything.  This ironic statement hides the FACT that greed, that may be the spirit of money, has given us human poverty and suffering and global warming,  Wealth can’t exist without poverty.

Remembering colonization, a point can be made that the US government runs on a parallel track of inspiration from the US Constitution and racketeering.  Is this model spread around the globe on the engine of NATO?  —

It then deals with the steps taken—unnoticed by many people—over the past 30 years or so towards Switzerland’s integration into NATO. For several of these steps, there was a clear opposition both in parliament and among the population, which was, however, either ignored by the Federal Council and the media or fought with massive propaganda. This anti-democratic and neutrality-dissolving aberration must be urgently stopped and corrected.–end of mronline info–

High water stress puts the lives, food, jobs and energy security of people in peril, as water is necessary for the essentials of human survival like agricultureelectricity production and the maintenance of human health. It is also important for promoting fair societies and meeting climate goals.–end of popularresistance info–

Coincidentally this event in the following link happened at a gulf course.  Gulf courses are traditionally where business deals are negotiated.  Gulf courses are where women were not allowed until only recently.  When women are excluded from the traditional arenas of business deals, this specifically undermines performance in business.  Aside from gulf courses, many country-club memberships are cost prohibitive for people who don’t excel in business; and hierarchical exclusion of others may promote this system.  The character of those so blessed with inclusion, may be a matter for discussion.

So many intermingled FACTS that can describe a type of dictatorship known as oligarchy.

Coincidentally gulf courses have also figured in the “business model” newly manifested in the PGA/LIV merger.  Several thoughts–

*Defense of this merger is about the access to ever greater wealth for the players

*A PGA rep suggested during a Congressional hearing questioning this monopoly, that he refuses to participate in the racism he has identified by said criticism

*Saudi Arabia is implicated in the 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers in NYC

*Saudi Arabia is also questioned about use of Arizona water—- https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2023/07/16/fondomonte-arizona-drought-saudi-farm-water/

*Insinuation of Saudi Arabia into US gulf business may be as much about water as about sports enthusiasm– https://www.twl-irrigation.com/how-much-water-does-a-golf-course-use/#:~:text=Depending%20on%20the%20location%20of,%247%2C000%20and%20%24108%2C000%20per%20year.

*The price of gas in the USA rises while MSM reports little about the business decision in Saudi Arabia to pull back on gas production in order to generate higher prices of gas

If the USA begins to feel like a Saudi Arabian colony, is this because we are?

With the death toll from the Maui wildfires at 111 and as many as 1,000 still missing, we speak with Hawaiian law professor Kapuaʻala Sproat about the conditions that made the fires more destructive and what’s yet to come for residents looking to rebuild their lives. Decades of neocolonialism in Hawaii have redirected precious water resources toward golf courses, resorts and other corporate ventures, turning many areas into tinderboxes and leaving little water to fight back against the flames. –end of democracynow info–

A definition of capitalism can be superseding of greed over human rights and natural rights.

One is nonplussed as to the competence and quality of Marianne Williamson as a Democratic Presidential candidate, and the FACT that the Democratic Party bosses will not permit open votes by the voters for the person who will run for the Presidency.  Just as Bernie Sanders was far superior to any Democratic-Party chosen candidate, but was blackballed by the Party bosses.  Marianne Williamson seems to have no actual chance to run freely and fairly.  This is a conundrum in a nation that snidely insists it will invade foreign nations to “spread democracy”.  Trump says the quiet parts out loud when he demands people don’t believe their own eyes.  The Democratic Party bosses aren’t as forthright but are just as sinister..

From lakotalaw  —  For the second week in a row, we have some good news to share with you on the environmental justice front! Last week, my father wrote to you about the Biden administration’s new national monument protecting Native homelands in the Southwest. Then, on Monday, the courts did their part. In Held v. State of Montana, a judge ruled in favor of 16 youths who alleged the state’s fossil fuel-friendly policies have contributed to the climate crisis and violated their right to a healthy environment.

For the first time in all of U.S. history, the government has been held accountable for violating constitutional rights by relying on fossil fuels. In her landmark 103-page order, Judge Kathy Seeley affirmed that Montana contributes to climate degradation and violates its own constitutional guarantee of a “clean and healthful environment” by ignoring environmental impacts when permitting energy projects. A provision of the Montana Environmental Policy Act even prevents the state from considering how its energy economy impacts climate change.

The intersection of Native and environmental justice was on full display during the court proceedings. Several of the suit’s plaintiffs are Native, and on the trial’s third day, enrolled members of the Crow and Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes provided powerful testimony highlighting the deleterious impact of climate change on Indigenous cultural heritage.

As most of the world continues to fail to take appropriate steps to prevent climate catastrophe, this first-of-its-kind ruling could open the door to similar litigation in other places. I’m joined by every member of the Lakota People’s Law Project staff in congratulating the Montana plaintiffs and supporting every future endeavor using legal means to protect Unci Maka, our Grandmother Earth — for my generation and those who will follow in our footsteps.

Wopila tanka — thank you for standing for environmental justice!

As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate——–

This is a reminder of how much we don’t know.  This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought.  We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.
One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate.  Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United.  But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy.  Who knew?
The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw          —#GreenSocialist Notes #76
Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate.  Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary.  This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People.  Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ7kn2-GEmM       —

Ross Perot in 1992 on NAFTA and the “Giant Sucking Sound”

Centralization is the lifeblood of the R&D duopoly.  It’s the way to enforce capitalism onto workers in 2022.———————–We can do better———-

That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.
