TOUGH NUT TO CRACK
A key component in a democracy is people and our actions.
Establishment uses the emotional impetus of democracy to justify capitalism as being one and the same. They are not.
Concepts of democracy have been subverted in the USA with he corruption of Citizens United and the collaboration in www.alec.org of big-money interests and their minions called lawmakers. Laws in the USA in 2023 support what can only be called authoritarian governance.
Can we imagine a more universal topic than health care as touches the lives of Americans? Yet Yet We The People voted into positions of power lawmakers beholden to the medical industry in our predatory system. A one-payer public healthcare system would be more economical to the nation and would also be more fair. Our lawmakers however have inflicted a predatory for-profit system upon the general public, while lawmakers have passed laws permitting a communal healthcare system for themselves.
Each Branch Democratic and Republic will cast blame for corruption on Soros or the Koch Brothers respectively. The 2-Party system has consumed democracy into it’s gullet of greed.
A question is the reason voters have continued to support this unusual and questionable system of political Parties rather than to follow the US Constitution.

Sabrina Corlette on the Affordable Care Act’s Preventive Services Provisions

We The People are those who act in democracy, not the government. To To demure to permission from government to democracic action is authoritarian behavior.
The lawmakers in Tennessee who have brought down the ire of Establishment upon their heads, probably need instruction in decorum, but not in democracy.
The Tennessee General Assembly is debating the expulsion of 3 of their members for lack of decorum, apparently. This appears as a caricature of racism, some may say.
But this event has again raised the topic of the merger of state and corporate in US governance. Let me say why. A Democratic politician was interviewed MSNBC yesterday who expressed his idea that what is needed is for corporate entities such as the entertainment industry that is prominent in Tennessee and sports teams, need to use their heft to eradicate racism (paraphrase).
This is similar to wokesters during the 2020 Presidential election, who raised voices for corporate to come to the aid of minority voters, ostensibly because “we spend enough money with them”. (The worship of the notion of money is endearing.)
Here’s a thought. People can act in democracy rather than going hat-in-hand to big-money campaign donors for permission to so act.
For instance, vote for a political candidate outside of the R&D duopoly.
Especially stop spending large sums of cash to support corporate campaign-donors, but if you do, don’t pretend to surprise that your lawmaker is owned by big-money interests, and don’t expect anything different.
As to the suggestion by the Democratic lawmaker interviewed on MSNB who said sports-team players need to demand change, that won’t happen because they are paid well to represent this system. Here’s a thought, We The People can stop supporting such venues.
The Democratic politician interviewed on MSNBC carefully spoke of institutional racism, but then implored institution to act in democracy. When institutions are about money, and in the USA they are, this is whistling past the graveyard.
A case in point is the Kaepernick kneeling story that is still relevant — https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tLP1TcwTs41SzI2YPTiyk5MLUgtystMzgYAVRUHgA&q=kaepernick&rlz=1CAHKDC_enUS760US760&oq=Kaepernik&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j46i10i433i512j0i10i512j46i10i175i199i512j0i10i433i512j46i10i199i465i512j0i10i512l3.7566j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 —
A few thoughts about that time and place–
*Kaepernick was a lone voice in the wilderness on the topic of sports racism
*Each time something came across my desk about Kaepernick, and while this story wasn’t popular, one sent out the info far and wide “in Solidarity”
*Most people didn’t care, to the extent that it was almost embarrassing to continue, but true to form, one did
*One at the same time, as a relentless feminist, continued to challenge the “B” word
*At the way, at the time, the “B” word was popular, even used by women…..????…..(women can be well-groomed enablers)
*Then along came Trump, who referred to Kaepernick as a “son of a “B”
*A groundswell of disdain arose from those offended by reference to the mother of Kaepernick…..(you can’t make this stuff up)
*The good news is a diminishing of he use of the “B” word, but most people still mindlessly support the sports industry…..oh, well…..
My point is that people do have the power, if only they cared. It’s called integrity.
By the way, there is a more imminent threat to humanity and the planet, and it’s called Climate Change. Denial simply doesn’t work against reality.

One wonders when We The People remember our power rather than the allure of capitalistic marketing.****
As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-
