On the topic of the growing realization of cancer in firefighters, it is worth mentioning that a decade ago during the NYS anti-fracking conversation, the FACT that new types of local fires were happening that included chemicals unfamiliar to the typical firefighter, and many firefighters who were volunteers were expected to deal with this corporate anomaly. Media didn’t pick up on this NYS anti-fracking discussion, probably in compliance with big-money influence. Politicians were blissfully ignorant and uninvolved. If anything a seeming hierarchical-Establishment coalition seemed to include firefighters and law enforcement on the side of big business. This never seemed wise to local-community safe-practices advocates. But the draw of inclusion in the patriarchal club has always been strong, even for those who are in the line of fire.

Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate. Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary. This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People. Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
