FAST TALK AND FUDGE

As I watch Katy Tur interview Byron Donald on MSNBC on 1/26/2023, one appreciates her attempts to clarify his rhetoric.  Especially strained is Mr. Donald’s statement that we must never cut taxes on the oligarchs, because they are the money makers (paraphrase).  If that statement held water, the USA would not have a large national debt.  Mr. Donald talks fast, possibly to avoid clarity or explanation.

Did he really say we shouldn’t tax those who are the producers?  He was talking so fast one may have interjected a different word for the same implication.  By the way, Mr. Donald, tell that to the first responders, teachers, and first-line medical-care providers.  We need to get real with the definition of value.  Mr. Donald seems lost in the weeds of capitalism.

Some people get more service from their garbage collector than their Representative, but legislators have recently voted for massive pay increases.  Is this helping to bring down the national debt, or is it just a wealth transfer from the 100% to the 1%?

My grocery store clerk provides more service, along with day-care workers, librarians, and food delivery services.  Some people disagree that those who “crack the whip” are valuable to bringing down the national debt, considering the national debt has increased even after the massive Republican/Trump tax cut.  What is Mr. Donald talking about?  He didn’t give Ms. Tur the opportunity to get in a word to question, as he spit out his rhetoric.

C-Span offers opportunity for the general public to call into their show to voice opinions.  This seems important.  They also host politicians.  The politicians should be reminded that we can see them.  Congressman Bill Johnson-R-Ohio expressed information criticizing Joe Biden for selling product out of the strategic energy reserve because the product went out onto the general worldwide market including our adversary China while demanding continuation of the Keystone pipeline that would transport crude from Canada to Texas to be refined and put out on the geneeral worldwide market including our adversary China.

C-Span caller — 7:40AM — The caller reminds Bill Johnson that the Keystone Pipeline is transit for Canadian product onto the worldwide market, not for consumption specifically for customers in the USA.

The double talk may be a heady response to a newly minted majority.  Perhaps they’ll return to reality soon.

C-Span caller  —  7:50AM  —  paraphrase  —  Questions Republican rhetoric that Joe Biden is responsible for the inflation.  Pandemic money given to the public under Trump, who wanted the name Trump stamped upon each check to American citizens, “like a social over lord” is mentioned.

(Another Trump era inflation ignition was the co-current tax cut for the wealthy along with the Trump tariff that rendered products from foreign nations to US consumers inordinately expensive.  When US jobs and manufacturing were shipped overseas, products were available generally through a restrictive supply chain under the control of foreign nations, so to impose a Trump tariff on said products required by Americans, is an assault upon US consumers)

Should Americans ask questions about corruption in Ukraine?  —  https://www.rt.com/russia/570506-zelenskys-second-front-ukraine-resignations/?utm_source=browser&utm_medium=push_notifications&utm_campaign=push_notifications       –The personnel changes were preceded by a series of corruption scandals involving senior officials. This led to a sharp escalation of conflict in Ukraine’s domestic politics and talk of major reform in the leadership of the Office of the President of Ukraine, the government, and certain law enforcement agencies.

This isn’t to suggest corruption isn’t rampant in Russia and the USA, but couldn’t Americans get better use of our tax dollars here at home?

If corruption is as rampant as it appears, why should the economic burden fall to the general public of the world?  —  https://www.rt.com/news/570507-eu-war-economy-defense/ —

“The European states are currently not in a position to provide the necessary armaments quickly enough, neither for our own defense, nor for Ukraine,” he lamented. To remedy the situation, Weber argued, the EU should “break new ground,” pointing out that complex allocation structures are not working the way they are supposed to.–end of rt info–

As one who is no more pro-Russian than pro-Ukrainian, because the turmoil in Eastern Europe seems to be millennial-long business as usual, the point one highlights is censorship  —  https://www.aol.com/sports/tennis-australia-issues-warning-novak-194755185.html    –Novak Djokovic received a warning from Tennis Australia on Thursday after his father Srdjan was seen on video taking part in a demonstration supporting Russian president Vladimir Putin, according to The Telegraph.

How can one see as anything other than predatory, a health care system with a motive of profits, which is obvious in capitalism?  Add to this a recent Joe Biden explanation that because he resides in Delaware, his inculcation into hierarchical capitalism (corporations) is complete.  (paraphrase)  Also endorsement into the position of President by a corporate sycophant is also troubling.  The end result is increasing health-care expenses with decreasing health-care results for consumers.  —  https://portside.org/2023-01-26/cancel-failed-experiment-physicians-tell-biden-hhs-end-medicare-privatization-pilot?utm_source=portside-general&utm_medium=email     —

‘Cancel This Failed Experiment’: Physicians Tell Biden HHS To End Medicare Privatization Pilot

The Medicare privatization program “presents a threat to the integrity of traditional Medicare, and an opportunity for corporations to take money from taxpayers while denying care to beneficiaries,” said Physicians for a National Health Program.

Rema Loeb has shared a timely reminder.  Please refer to her link 2nd down.

Coincidentally one is reading http://www.csun.edu/~rcummings/sacred.html  — Such cosmogonic activities as were done “in the beginning” (in illo tempore) are recapitulated periodically in ritual and myth to sustain and renew the world, hence, not only does space become sacred, but time as well. The festival, such as New Year’s Celebration, has a way of tapping into primordial time and harnessing the forces of creation into re-creation, dipping into chaos and re-emerging with new order.–end of mircea eliade info–

It can be imagined that the presumption of ownership may be a demarcation point that announces leaving the sacred for the profane.

****As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate—-

This is a reminder of how much we don’t know.  This brings one around to Howie Hawkins, who continues to impress with original thought.  We also could acknowledge Hawkins often speaks to censored information.
One such topic about which one would never have even considered, is whether the USA needs The Senate.  Apparently The Senate is little other than expensive window dressing, promoting hierarchical interests, and too often placed in positions of power by big-money via Citizens United.  But the public gets to fund this curiosity of pompous supremacy.  Who knew?
The Democratic Branch of the Republican/Democratic Duopoly are especially functional in voter suppression—–https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNbdkuU1edw          —#GreenSocialist Notes #76
Howie Hawkins brings up the concept of whether the USA needs the Senate.  Apparently according to some people, the Senate isn’t necessary.  This brings up the blockage from the Senate of many bills that would benefit We The People.  Combined with Citizens United that promotes big-money interest choice of Senators, in which laws are passed that benefit big-money interest rather than We The People, and that We The People support economically, the members of the Senate, this seems a good topic for discussion.
The US Constitution doesn’t seem to sanction elections run by political Parties, and to permit control of political debates by political Parties seems equally corrupt.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ7kn2-GEmM       —

Ross Perot in 1992 on NAFTA and the “Giant Sucking Sound”

Centralization is the lifeblood of the R&D duopoly.  It’s the way to enforce capitalism onto workers in 2022.———————–We can do better———-

That “we are a 2-Party system” is a fabrication of the Republican/Democratic duopoly and spread by MSM.  In FACT the majority of voters aren’t either registered Democratic or Republican.  The censorship about this info must be envied by bureaucrats of the Former USSR and their simplistic style of 1-Party elections.

Regardless of which character sits in the Oval Office, We The People have work to do to maintain principles of our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  Several items to challenge—*We need the integrity of ranked-choice voting so voters won’t feel compelled to “hold your nose and vote”*Censored debates must be stopped.  The Democratic/Republican duopoly pretends to legitimate debates in what is nothing other than another campaign show.  Independent debates run by uninterested sponsors such as The League of Women Voters, must be restored.  (Access www.debates.org to understand the extent of duopoly control).  The so-called Debate Commission is a corporation to promote the Democratic corporation and Republican corporation, not to inform We The People*Challenge and stop gerrymandering that is a trick especially of the Republican branch of the duopoly.*Stop voter suppression by political Parties, and especially confront and stop Party suppression, which is the over-arching approach to voter suppression.  Party suppression seems to have been the responsibility of the Democratic corporation*Promote by law ranked-choice voting, so we won’t be told again, by D&R duopoly, to “hold your nose and vote”
If these issues are handled, our next elections can be honorable.

WITHDRAWS SUPPORT FROM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE–end of lwv info–Murray Bookchin, who founded social ecology, a theory that strongly influenced early Green Socialist thought, strongly advocated the discussion and study group as the first step of any revolutionary movement. A group of individuals meets to expand their knowledge of radical thought and form a radical intellectual community; through the give and take of discussion, can eventually form ideas for next steps in organizing and political activity. According to Bookchin, study groups help create solidarity and a shared language — with a shared coherent vision — for building a mass, organizing, political movement!
