Most of their apparent bulk actually consists of dense layers of feathers — a necessity in the frigid environments they inhabit. A large appearance can also fool potential predators, making them think twice before attacking.

Views from Indigenous communities that include Native Americans and Natural Way proponents buoys hope that humanity and nature can remain connected as seems to be intended from The Creator in whatever way one sees He/She/Cause-and-Effect. Contributions from Native Americans haven’t flagged over so many years of repression.

Our nation is buoyed by violence whether physically or rhetorically. What’s up with apologies for supporting peace? — https://mronline.org/2022/10/28/worthless-house-progressives-retract-mild-peace-advocacy-under-pressure-from-warmongers/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=worthless-house-progressives-retract-mild-peace-advocacy-under-pressure-from-warmongers&mc_cid=634a56a95f&mc_eid=2833cdb99b —If you actually read the original letter signed by House progressives including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Rashida Tlaib, Jamaal Bowman and Ro Khanna, you will quickly see that it’s as innocuous and anodyne as any statement could possibly be while still containing words. It opens with effusive praise for Biden’s interventionism in Ukraine and condemns the Russian government unequivocally throughout, offering only the humble suggestion that he “pair the military and economic support the United States has provided to Ukraine with a proactive diplomatic push, redoubling efforts to seek a realistic framework for a ceasefire.” Its authors make it abundantly clear that they support making sure such diplomacy is agreeable to Ukraine at every step of the way.

9:25AM–caller–paraphrase–voters may not know the function of the office for which they vote into power a candidate.
This is a spectacularly important observation. How would the public know functions of many offices for which they vote in an election? Here’s a thought……local news media could present this information as news. Currently in Upstate NY and around the local news reports in particular, the public is bombarded with paid political ads that frankly are an embarrassment to the public. But they are possibly lucrative to the news media outlets. FACTually, information isn’t involved. Somewhere in one’s memory was the notion that airwaves needed to function to the benefit of the public. This is not currently the case and seems to be used as a vehicle for public indoctrination devoid of information relevant to governance that should be of, by and for The People.
And so elections currently feel like a formality preparatory to installation of a dictatorship.

C-Span hosted a call-in hour at 7:00AM on the topic of the Paul Pelosi attack. The “where is Nancy” attack recalls the “where is Nancy” 1/6 insurrection. Some MAGA callers spoke of the possibility that this Paul Pelosi attack was perpetrated by (in the words of many of these callers) an illegal Canadian who was homeless and possibly has mental incapacity. This may or may not be FACTual, but what is the point as regards distinction by action from the 1/6 insurrectionists? Callers, point well taken; take it to heart.

And back to evidence of intelligence. Climate Change is probably the most immediate National Security risk faced by the USA — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4eA0zMPOgk –Streamed live 21 hours ago In this episode of Fire Drill Fridays, Jane Fonda is on the ground in Port Arthur, Texas, a frontline in the continued fight against environmental racism and the climate crisis. Jane and John Beard, Jr., Founder and CEO of Port Arthur Community Action Network, will get an on-the-ground look at oil wells, refineries, and petrochemical plants that are inundating the community with industrial pollution. They’ll discuss what’s at stake, and the continued legacy of strong resistance, including the current fight to stop new and expanding crude export infrastructure. It is critical that we support and fight alongside frontline communities like Port Arthur in our campaign for real climate justice, be sure to tune in to learn how.

From www.hawkinsmattera.org — Despite efforts by the New York State Democratic Party and their functionaries to silence us, we have broken through to the media with this campaign’s message of Inclusive Democracy, a Green New Deal, and an Economic Bill of Rights. We ask that you share this important news coverage to your community, families and allies:
- Capital Tonight Video: Green Party wages daunting write-in campaign to win back ballot access in New York
- Albany Times Union Op-Ed: Kathy Hochul, Lee Zeldin and nobody else
“Walk into any supermarket and you’ll find a variety of breakfast cereals to match nearly any taste. Shop online and you can select, say, shoes to meet your idiosyncratic preferences.
This is what we’ve come to expect in this age of choice. Almost everywhere there are alternatives to the same-old boring whatever. Nearly everywhere, we have options to satisfy every niche, variety that feels infinite and empowering.
Everywhere, except at the ballot box…” - The New York Times: For First Time Since 1946, New Yorkers Have Just 2 Choices for Governor
“…this year, for the first time in over 75 years, the state ballot appears destined to offer only two choices: Gov. Kathy Hochul, a Democrat, and Representative Lee Zeldin, a Republican.
The paucity of options is largely due to former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, who championed changes in election law two years ago that made it far more difficult for third parties to get on the ballot. The changes to ballot access law tripled the number of voter signatures required for groups to get on the November ballot and forced political parties to qualify every two years instead of four.” - Focus on Albany Video: A conversation with Howie Hawkins about the campaign for Governor
The Times nails the issue: Cuomo, Hochul, and their Legislature Lackeys have brought democracy in New York to a 75-year low. And the bar was already disgracefully low.
But we can beat this and make our elections more fair and equitable than ever — with your help. We ask that you donate to this campaign today so we can continue fighting through Election Day.
And, speaking of Election Day, we ask that you take a moment to look at how you will need to write in our names for Governor and Lt. Governor, and to share this information with voters:
