RIGGED
RIGGED
People are beginning to notice….
In capitalism we need to question the destiny of government spending. Ultimately recently the destiny has been a transfer of wealth from the 100%to the 1%. In FACT, conversation has been held to both give money to private corporations to build, for example, highway systems, and then charge the public tolls for using the system.

We tend to talk about infrastructure in terms of spending amounts. But infrastructure in a monopoly-dominated economy is not just about money, it’s about who governs.

Whenever a politician or business leader claims there is ‘no money’ to pay for climate damage and innovation, for more and better jobs, for a fair post-Covid recovery, for more overseas aid, they know where to look.”–end of commondreams info–
Each member of the Democratic/Republican duopoly played a part in sanctioning the system of finances as we know it. To pass the laws that support our system is their job. But the electorate voted these politicians into public office.
Nothing in the US Constitution seems to support the USA as the police force for the world —- https://www.laprogressive.com/military-actions-in-159-countries/ –Biden admitted as much when, in June, he sent a letter to Congress listing all of the countries where U.S. troops are waging war against groups opposed by the United States. And according to the journal, Conflict Management and Peace Science, the United States has 173,000 military troops engaged in conflicts in 159 other nations! Hell, it’s hard to find a country where U.S. troops are not engaged in some form of military action, be it in the Middle East, Asia, Africa, or South America.Let me say it again: there are 159 countries experiencing some form of U.S. military action. Maybe you remember that once upon a time in America there was a real debate underway as to whether America should be the “policeman of the World.” Mind you, the debate was seldom over whether we had the right to police the world, as opposed to whether we should police the world. Well, my friends, that debate has long been over. Because America is, without doubt, the world’s police force. And it does not play this role to insure a peaceful world. No, it plays it to ensure a profitable world for capitalist Corporate America, which jumps at every chance to profit from the production of the weapons of war.And so, what do I think we should do? Well, I think we should hold a series of internet streamed “America’s Wars and War Crimes Tribunals.” In this way at least the American people would be made fully aware of the far-flung military actions and war crimes committed in the course of those actions by successive U.S. presidents.–end of la info–
As Americans consider the reason we cannot have free college, childcare, 1-payer public health care policies, and justice in the USA, while we are funding The Military Industrial Complex, remember the funding protects “American interests overseas” which translates into protection of multi-national corporations and American oligarchs. The collateral damage is generally “people of color” who are women and children. With a straight face, US politicians use racism and sexism as reasons to support the Democratic/Republican duopoly that is wielding this style of imperialism. The entirety drips in hypocrisy. Yet we must remember the US electorate vote into public office the Republican/Democratic duopoly.
One takes no pleasure in saying the USA has become an organized-crime haven, as suggested by the corruption of “running government like a business” that is organized crime — cij.org/investigations/pandora-papers/global-investigation-tax-havens-offshore/?emci=fb9a105f-e525-ec11-981f-501ac510a405&emdi=a3ff0f19-f125-ec11-981f-501ac510a405&ceid=42183 –Millions of leaked documents and the biggest journalism partnership in history have uncovered financial secrets of 35 current and former world leaders, more than 330 politicians and public officials in 91 countries and territories, and a global lineup of fugitives, con artists and murderers. The secret documents expose offshore dealings of the King of Jordan, the presidents of Ukraine, Kenya and Ecuador, the prime minister of the Czech Republic and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. The files also detail financial activities of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s “unofficial minister of propaganda” and more than 130 billionaires from Russia, the United States, Turkey and other nations. The leaked records reveal that many of the power players who could help bring an end to the offshore system instead benefit from it – stashing assets in covert companies and trusts while their governments do little to slow a global stream of illicit money that enriches criminals and impoverishes nations.

By the way, a 1-payer comprehensive public health care system would be more affordable to the nation than the ACA/Obamacare due to removing the middlemen and to be frank, re-routing the corporate profits that now go to politicians via Citizens United, to the medical professionals providing healthcare to the public.
But one recalls the electorate voted into public office, bought-and-paid-for politicians.

As one who remembers and heard the real-time words and actions of MLK, Jr., it is with dismay that one has watched the Democratic Party that is in 2021 supportive of capitalism as they wrap themselves in the message of MLK, Jr. that is total white-washing of this civil rights leader. The lesser campaign strategists have gone so far as to portray Bernie Sanders, who parallels messages of MLK, Jr., as somehow contrary to him. And so it goes .. https://portside.org/2021-10-04/creating-powerful-broad-based-moral-movement –In fact, King never led a single-issue march. The 1963 March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom, for instance, made clear that economic and workers’ rights were integral to the fight for civil rights. Their demands included a massive training and placement program for jobs that paid a living wage and an increase in the federal minimum wage to $2 an hour (equivalent to about $18 in today’s dollars).Poor and low-income Americans of all races are doubly harmed by a campaign finance system that gives the wealthy excessive power to rig the rules in their favor. Since 2009, just twelve mega-donors have accounted for nearly $1 out every $13 in campaign donations.–end of portside info–
My interest in the governing style of Native Americans continue to be validated — Received from lakotalaw — Breaking news! Today, for the first time in more than 50 years, members of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe have elected a woman to lead their tribal nation. And — I’m happy to report to you — not just any woman. Janet Alkire is the real deal. As the tribe’s former executive director and an Air Force veteran, she has unparalleled political experience and discipline. In addition, last year, Chairwoman-elect Alkire worked closely with her tribe and Lakota Law as one of our ace callers in the joint campaign to get out the Native and environmental vote in the 2020 election. I even worked for her at one time myself as a tribal attorney. When I was fresh out of law school, I was hired by Standing Rock Nation, and Janet was my immediate supervisor. My mom also worked in Janet’s office, and so my personal connection to her runs deep. This is an exciting moment for her and, potentially, for all of us who consider civil and tribal rights important. I am hopeful that Standing Rock will make important strides forward in the coming years, and Lakota Law stands by to help — in the media, with organizing, and in interfacing with state and U.S. government officials.Janet is not the first woman to lead Standing Rock Nation. That was Josephine Gates Kelly, who, in 1946, became the first woman to head any recognized tribe within U.S. borders. We expect Janet to be a groundbreaking leader nonetheless. Perhaps most importantly, we know her to be a strong advocate for child welfare concerns. We hope that the Native-run foster home and teen center you’ve helped us put in place at Standing Rock will thrive under her leadership. Your continued support can help us explore other important initiatives with Janet, as well. For instance, replacing fossil fuels with wind, solar, and a renewable economy that provides jobs at Standing Rock becomes a realistic possibility. I can’t thank you enough for standing with Lakota Law and Standing Rock these past few years. I’m happy to tell you that today is a day filled with hope for our future.Wopila tanka — thank you for staying with us!
