LIVING SATIRE
To be clear, this is sometimes called satire. It is a way to express truth rather than FACTS—

- the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues.

Giving earth’s species a fighting chance
Lithium mining threatens Arizona tribe’s sacred spring–The Hualapai are currently challenging a lithium mining project that threatens their land, water, and heritage sites.Tunisia’s youth are demanding climate actionDefending a rare Florida wetland from oil drilling–If you are a member of the Miccosukee Tribe, this is sacred land. But if you are a Texas oil company, this (like the rest of the planet) looks like a great place to drill.—-end of earthjustice topics—-Earthjustice has proven to be integral in support of local-community safe-environment advocates. NY’ers experienced the same need to fight to protect the local environment against fracking. Oil and lithium are both required to maintain the lifestyle we tolerate. That this should be at the cost of the environment doesn’t seem logical. Logic seems to require reassessing our expectations, because the cost of the environment will kill people.
Yet many people refuse to recognize the hyper exploitation of capitalism as unsustainable. We seriously need to reconsider lifestyle. Infinite progress using finite resources seems like insanity. Add to this the numbers of local communities that are more nearly living within their ecological means, are the same communities targeted for exploitation by capitalists, and one almost sees criminal activity and surely imperialism.

Public/private partnerships have been reported as a beneficial system to build projects. In a capitalistic system, the risk is taxpayer funding of private commercial projects. Heightening this concern is Citizens United in which big-money interest campaign donations buy politicians. Yet when the idea of democratic (small d) socialism is raised, capitalistic hierarchical Establishment cry communism. Because in a democratic (small d) Constitutional republic the government is ostensibly of, by and for The People, what better opportunity to explore a worker-owned and managed business model. Any challenge that this would place taxpayer money into the hands of the worker/owner must be measured against the model of capitalism where power and profit go to hierarchy often residing miles if not nations away from the project.
Everyone must be aware that capitalistic profit and power should be mitigated by business risk; but with Citizens United buying politicians, risk and liability is often filtered through to the public local communities.https://popularresistance.org/the-power-and-potential-of-democratic-public-ownership/ –Rather than ignore the world’s existing public enterprises and services, we should leverage their scope and scale by infusing them with democratic governance structures, innovative missions and mandates, and robust transparency and accountability mechanisms. In most cases, it would be absurd to think that the same approach that created a problem would also be the one best suited to solve it. Yet this is exactly what we are expected to believe regarding the existential ecological threats our world now faces. As predicted by many since its inception, capitalism and its core interconnected tenants — private ownership of the means of production, market allocation, and exponential economic growth — have brought us to the precipice of both environmental and social disaster. Yet, year after year we continue to be told that capitalism will save us.–end of popularresistance info–
Indoctrination has stifled imagination. To continue to do the same thing expecting different results has been called a definition of insanity.
On the topic of the Ukraine-Russia War, which discussion at this point is inevitable, one feels compelled to mention that the same hierarchical pretension that has been at work using natural resources for profit, have also been at work in spreading capitalism rather than democracy. That Russia seems also to have embraced capitalism, we seem to see oligarchs both East and West, reaching the epitome of attempt for power and profit, similar to the apex reached by the Democratic and Republican Parties in the USA. As is typical, it isn’t hierarchy that is placed at risk, it is local community members and the environment. Many people have called for peace, which is totally attainable; but probably not during the hierarchical struggle for supremacy. — https://portside.org/2022-04-16/feminist-resistance-against-war-sweden –As feminists in Sweden, we challenge the recent shift in Swedish security policy, a shift towards increased militarization. In the past, Sweden’s non-aligned position was associated with the possibility to act as a neutral part in international affairs and to advocate international nuclear disarmament.[2] In the present, calls are made for Swedish membership in NATO, a military organization that has made nuclear weapons a core feature of its security strategy. In general, the official Swedish response to the present situation in Ukraine has been heavily militarized. –end of portside info–
Speaking to feminist requirements, one won’t forget a 1-payer comprehensive public health care policy that would be less costly and more accessible to actual community members. Disease-care middlemen are costly to the system. We need to stop complying to disease-care political sycophants, and vote into public office, politicians who will install a 1-payer comprehensive public health care policy—-http://healthjusticemonitor.org/ —Summary: More fetuses and babies are dying from syphilis, a completely preventable outcome with adequate access to quality prenatal care. This is a another marker of failure of our systems for health care financing and public health.–end of hjm info–
