BLINKEN ‘SPLAINS RUSSIA…’NUFF SAID…

Revolting is the idea of Blinken ‘splaining the views of Russia; especially since the USA and “Western concerns” have been instrumental in actions within the Ukraine when the USA has described Ukrainian government as the most corrupt in the world.  Equally revolting has been the habit of corporate-owned-state-run MSM talking heads with little understanding of recent history, equate Russia with fascism when Russia was instrumental though brutal in challenging Hitler and Nazis during WWII.  To understand other people is essential to be intellectually honest.  This isn’t about the level of governmental corruption peculiar to any one government; but more about the corruption of oligarchy.

Intellectual honesty would question the role of the USA in the Ukraine, and particularly those who became wealthy by personal involvement in the corruption that is bemoaned as especially Ukrainian, which I doubt, as compared to the corruption in Western nations pursuing capitalistic hierarchical Establishment ends.
https://www.aol.com/news/brutal-ww-ii-siege-leningrad-100008480.html       –WASHINGTON — Speaking from the Latvian capital of Riga on Monday, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken condemned Russia’s war in Ukraine, citing in particular the siege of Mariupol, a port city on the Sea of Azov.To make his point, Blinken appealed to the personal history of Russian President Vladimir Putin, whose public image is tied closely to another siege — that of his native Leningrad by invading German forces during World War II.
That siege is central to understanding the outlook on the world Putin shares with many Russians. Described by historian Anna Reid as “the deadliest blockade of a city in human history,” the siege lasted 872 days and took as many as 1.5 million lives.
“We’ve seen scenes like this before in Europe,” Blinken said. “Every Russian has lived or learned about the horrific siege of Leningrad during World War II.”Those lessons are deeply personal for Putin. He was born in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg) eight years after the siege was lifted in 1944, but the fate of Leningrad more thoroughly defines him than any event in Russian history. He even lost an older brother, Viktor Putin, in the siege.—end of aol info–

An example in the person of a politician may be NYS’s Senator Schumer, who has been loud and persistent in grandstanding about a 5G network build out and broadband.  At the same time, anyone living in rural Upstate NY will be painfully aware of a deteriorating energy infrastructure as the electrical grid goes down during any puff of wind that goes through.  Puffs of wind are increasing due to Climate Change.  Yet politicians pretend to working for the public by the distraction of promotion of 5G and broadband, as they ignore a deteriorating electrical grid required for better than 3rd-world living conditions.
9:12AM–R. Keller R-Pa–paraphrase–It is shameful that Biden has chosen green energy over the American people(double talk that green energy will not be beneficial to the majority of American people that could provide local energy grids that would be less susceptible to outages due to terrorism, weather, accident or war, wouldn’t as completely cause Climate Change, and would provide living-wage local jobs that would be ongoing)
Condemnation by politicians that we aren’t expanding fossil fuel infrastructure in response to the Russian-Ukrainian military actions ignore that buying from in-place foreign infrastructure will limit further build out of new US infrastructure when the infrastructure the USA needs to be busy with is a renewable and sustainable grid.  This should be local and provide energy from the sun.  If we continue to build out fossil fuel infrastructure, laziness will lead to use of such.

Bob Deans on Russia-Ukraine Crisis and U.S. Energy Policy

Natural Resources Defense Council strategic engagement director Bob Deans talked about President Biden’s decision to ban Russian oil imports into the U.S., the potential impact on gas prices, and Biden administration energy policies.–end of c-span info–During the above segment and one believes it was the guest mentioned that FACTually, industry sells half of American fossil fuel production overseas.  This totally shoots down the notion that we must “drill baby drill”, to quote a local fracking advocate from the Southern Tier of about 15 years ago, in order to bring down prices for the consumer.  In FACT reports say fossil fuel industry profiteering is increasing. Do the math.
The answer seems wrong to inflict the same Ukrainian type of local-community harm by the oligarchs on US local community byway of price gouging and exploitation of nature that kills local community people and seriously undermines quality of life.  The oligarch actions are different byway of nation, the control and exploitation are the same.

From Blackagendareport—https://www.blackagendareport.com/russia-ukraine-and-race-problem  –Cold War racism was both a domestic and global weapon of war designed to strip anti-imperialist resistance of its humanity. Western elites dehumanized Black Americans fighting Jim Crow as potential “Reds” with just as much fervor as they dehumanized the people of the Soviet Union and other nations engaged in building socialism abroad. From lakotalaw–The moment has come to rally together for our children. The United States Supreme Court has announced that, this autumn, it will hear the case of Brackeen v. Haaland — which could redefine the constitutionality of the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) and threaten tribal sovereignty. Because legal arguments will soon be due, we’re already in high gear. Our attorneys are now preparing an amicus brief for the justices, and it’s up to all of us to raise awareness about the importance of protecting this law and keeping Native kids in Native care. I ask you today, with all my heart, please stand with us in this fight. Please give what you can today to help us protect ICWA and our rights to self-determination. With Russia’s recent attack on Ukraine — and all the other challenges we face together as a society — it is more critical than ever that we do everything we can to protect future generations and uphold the sovereignty of oppressed communities. Protecting our youth and keeping them in Native care — or kinship care, as we call it — is a huge deal for all of us in Indian Country, especially with the ongoing discovery of mass graves at boarding schools. In fact, safeguarding our children is what motivated me to co-found the Lakota People’s Law Project. Over the years, with help from friends like you and conscientious reporters like Laura Sullivan at NPR (who won a Peabody Award for her coverage of South Dakota’s foster care crisis), we have made massive inroads. Today, Lakota Law has a Native-run kinship care home at Standing Rock, and I’m helping to oversee the creation of similar facilities and lobby for a tribally-run Child Welfare Department here at the Cheyenne River Nation.Importantly, too, this Supreme Court case isn’t just about our young ones. As we detailed in our blog a few months back (if you haven’t yet, please read that!), it’s also potentially an attack on tribal mineral rights and, ultimately, our sovereignty. It’s no coincidence that the white family who initiated the case in Texas after adopting Native children is backed, pro bono, by Big Oil lawyers — including a hideous firm called Gibson-Dunn — who normally have no interest in these matters. If ICWA falls, it could become the first domino in a series of Native rights rollbacks. The colonists want our children because our youth are our future. The chair of our board of advisors, Senator James Abourezk, was the principal author of ICWA back in the late 1970s, and our president and chief counsel, Danny Sheehan, consulted with the Department of Justice to draft the enforcement guidelines that are the subject of this Supreme Court case. That’s why we’ll work night and day to stop this legal attack. In the coming weeks, we’ll help the Supreme Court justices understand the legal arguments behind this critical law. We’ll also continue to ensure the case gets maximum media coverage. This must be a full team effort. So, stay with us over the year to come, and please do everything you can to help us amplify this issue.Wopila tanka — thank you for helping us protect our children and our culture.
