FRESH AIR OF CITIZEN POWER

In the Southern Tier of NYS, citizens who have been labeled as activists by the Broome County Sheriff, are standing for human, civil, and environmental rights as pertains to a clean environment.

This is an excellent moment to highlight the FACT that Representatives of The People are placed into positions of power directly by We The People, during elections.  The involved citizens in Broome County are advocating for the best Representative For The People to best protect the local community—-

https://www.lcvvictoryfund.org/trump-big-oil/——We need to make sure we’re louder than Big Oil. If everyone reading this email shared the video — we’d get way more reach than a lot of their ads. It doesn’t take a zillion-dollar slush fund to reach voters — but it does take you.——–end of lcv info–
The FACT is that the Democratic/Republican duopoly receive big-money donations from fossil fuel industry.  This is an excellent ad but its pretense is that Biden doesn’t promote fracking, which is not FACTual, according to his own words.  Biden was speaking, one believes, to Republicans and capitalistic Democrats in expressing his support for fracking, because he wants their vote.  When in office, to whom do you suppose Biden will pander?  Recall Obama.   In a different forum, for example as Biden addresses environmentalists, his story is less pro-fracking.  Recall Obama
Before the NYS fracking ban, Obama took the opportunity to visit ground zero of the fracking conversation—-https://blog.suny.edu/2013/08/president-barack-obama-visits-binghamton-university-and-the-university-at-buffalo/–One won’t find this in campaign ads, but one recalls the WBNG local TV news cover the SUNY conversation from Obama on the topic of education, in which Obama called a local professor who dared to ask a question about the environment, a “tree-hugging, beansprout eating college professor”.  Then Obama went back into character.  This must bring a chuckle to anyone who recalls that interchange.

A politician placed into public office by big-money campaign donors who have funded his campaign, will need to so straddle his message.
This campaign season is a study in politicians promoting their own interests regardless of the effect on We The People.  Yet, We The People are expected to vote for a politician shoe-horned into candidacy by big-money interests.
https://www.ecowatch.com/climate-crisis-un-disaster-forecast-2648188179.html?mc_cid=c98d1ec3c8&mc_eid=d4966762a5–A new report from the United Nations found that political leaders and industry leaders are failing to do the necessary work to stop the world from becoming an “uninhabitable hell” for millions of people as the climate crisis continues and natural disasters become more frequent, as Al-Jazeera reported.
–end of ecowatch info–https://www.undrr.org/publication/human-cost-disasters-overview-last-20-years-2000-2019–In the period 2000 to 2019, there were 7,348 major recorded disaster events claiming 1.23 million lives, affecting 4.2 billion people (many on more than one occasion) resulting in approximately US$2.97 trillion in global economic losses.
This is a sharp increase over the previous twenty years. Between 1980 and 1999, 4,212 disasters were linked to natural hazards worldwide claiming approximately 1.19 million lives and affecting 3.25 billion people resulting in approximately US$1.63 trillion in economic losses.–end of human cost info—-

Biden also supports a pay-to-play health insurance ownership scheme by the public, in place of a universal and comprehensive public health care policy.  Climate Change is undermining human health, aside from the FACT that a diseased environment also harms the health of people.  The big-money donors who buy politicians into office, can afford to do so by profiteering.  Profits are largely derived from exploitation of human resources (people) and natural resources (environment).  A reason such profits can happen is that profits accrue to industry and liability and risk are passed onto the public.
This manifests in local communities that must clean up after Climate Change disasters, and extraordinarily large costs for private-provided health care for the diseases that are exacerbated from pollution of our environment.
Politicians beholden to big-money interests due to campaign donations will promote the interests of said big-money.

Questions from Debate Committee hosts haven’t included the risk of fracking to humanity and nature.  This seems odd—–https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-fracking-radiation/researchers-find-elevated-radiation-near-u-s-fracking-sites-idUSKBN26Y29U–Areas within 20 kilometers (12 miles) downwind of 100 fracking wells tend to have radiation levels that are about 7% above normal background levels, according to the study, which examined thousands of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s radiation monitor readings nationwide from 2011 to 2017.The study showed readings can go much higher in areas closer to drill sites, or in areas with higher concentrations of drill sites.

One doesn’t expect community members who vote into public office supporters of fracking, to then complain about environmental harm by industrial process, upon those local communities.  Yet that will be the outcome, preparatory to the next election, in which the same style of politician owned by big-money interests, will opine about the need to elect him/her, in order to clean up the environment.  The conditioned voter who does as told by her/his political Party will then have several more years to whine about pollution they say targets their particular local community.
As to the Republican/Democratic duopoly, even the Republican Branch is aghast at the amount of money pouring into Democratic campaigns this election season.  But one would indeed be totally indoctrinated not to know that each Branch are adequately bought off by big-money interests—–https://www.dailyposter.com/p/upcoming-scotus-climate-case-involves?token=eyJ1c2VyX2lkIjoyMTU0NTE0LCJwb3N0X2lkIjoxMDgyMzc3OCwiXyI6Im82K0hLIiwiaWF0IjoxNjAyNjg4NTQwLCJleHAiOjE2MDI2OTIxNDAsImlzcyI6InB1Yi0zNzc3OCIsInN1YiI6InBvc3QtcmVhY3Rpb24ifQ.qBKilZkPjTvNiqV0sseidAA0MDwNUNLPzP0ffc4LgjQ–

Barrett told lawmakers she doesn’t have “firm views” on climate change. For decades, her father was a lawyer at Shell Oil, which now has a major climate case in front of the high court.

–end of sirota.substack info–
Coney-Barrett may not have “firm views”, but that big-money profiteering helped to finance her education and so advancement to the Supreme Court, doesn’t speak to equality.
One specifically speaks to the Pyramid Scheme that is our economy, and that actively transfers the wealth of the nation from the 100% to the 1%.
One has heard political strategists speak about meritocracy.  Meritocracy often goes hand-in-hand with privilege, networking, and nepotism.  In FACT, the gradual descent into feudalism was foreseen, and tax laws known as Estate Tax were implemented to forestall ascendancy of sub-par children of perhaps predatory Moms and Dads, from inheriting positions of power to which they are not suited.  US laws passed by politicians on the payroll of big-money interests via Citizens United and campaign contributions, have undermined the veracity of such equalizing economic laws.——–https://lpeproject.org/blog/the-academy-and-the-undoing-of-the-carceral-state/–For all of these reasons, we came together with a letter to our colleagues this summer—fellow scholars of the law, law and society, prisons, and policing—to express our commitment to recognizing and remediating our role in this centuries-old crisis.
The first is a commitment to confront anti-Black racism and white supremacy within law, policing, and the legal academy. This might sound simple, but it is the opposite of what scholars and teachers in institutions of higher learning have historically done; it will take active pedagogical reordering. The second is a commitment to disentangling ourselves from the prison industrial complex. This involves divesting ourselves and our labor from projects and events that uncritically support and legitimize police, border patrol, prisons, detention centers, and the surveillance of marginalized populations. And the third is a commitment to

https://mailchi.mp/cldc.org/challenging-corporate-corruption-equipping-our-movements-3246128?e=b42fa033ea—-Today, while prepping for our weekly CLDC member update, I was struck by a thematic connection running through all of the issues we wanted to share with you this week: the disconnect between the rights of nature and the U.S. “justice system.” In light of the heavy human toll that COVID-19 has had, and race-driven police violence have had on minorities and other at-risk communities in the U.S. this year, it can be tempting to put aside the fact that our dominant capitalist culture is also killing the planet. There’s only so much we can take after all. But the reality is that people all over are rising up to defend the Earth and our fellow inhabitants, too, and when they do, CLDC has their backs as well.

And many of the most non-Establishment voters are in the Green Party.
**************************************As a Green Party registered voter routinely, one re-registers every 4 years into the Democratic Party to be able to cast a vote in the Democratic Primary for Bernie Sanders.  One is positive one is not alone in doing so.Lost in the fog of political corruption over several decades, is the fact that the Presidential debates were once in the capable hands of the League of Women Voters—-https://www.lwv.org/newsroom/press-releases/league-refuses-help-perpetrate-fraud—-Most objectionable to the League, Neuman said, were conditions in the agreement that gave the campaigns unprecedented control over the proceedings. Neuman called “outrageous” the campaigns’ demands that they control the selection of questioners, the composition of the audience, hall access for the press and other issues.”The campaigns’ agreement is a closed-door masterpiece,” Neuman said. “Never in the history of the League of Women Voters have two candidates’ organizations come to us with such stringent, unyielding and self-serving demands.”Neuman said she and the League regretted that the American people have had no real opportunities to judge the presidential nominees outside of campaign-controlled environments.—-end of lwv info—In other words, (paraphrase) patriarchy says, “we’ll handle it from here, little ladies”—https://straty.com/controlling-outcomes-controlling-table-stakes/—After studying the election process in 1985, the bipartisan National Commission on Elections recommended “turning over the sponsorship of Presidential debates to the two major parties”. —end of straty info—https://www.debates.org/—The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was established in 1987 to ensure, for the benefit of the American electorate, that general election debates between or among the leading candidates for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States are a permanent part of the electoral process. CPD’s primary purpose is to sponsor and produce the quadrennial general election debates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates. The organization, which is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) corporation, sponsored all of the presidential debates in 1988199219962000200420082012, and 2016

In other words, politicians are now choosing their voters, rather than voters choosing their politicians.
Acting on the human frailty of ignorance combined with arrogance, and using as an example the Democratic Establishment, one recognizes what is called a Democratic Base that believes in their right to dictate to others, their voting choices.  —–https://www.haudenosauneeconfederacy.com/influence-on-democracy/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2pIDtvTydkU&t=638s
