BAIT AND SWITCH NATION
Experts have ‘splained to We The People as reasons We The People should tolerate globalism that dismantled the American middle class while placing control of the supply chain into the hands of foreign nations, the pro-business practice of corporate ability to take advantage of foreign-nation quasi-slavery labor that was to render US products cheaper. US products are currently quite expensive to consumers.
Euphemism for bait-and-switch could have been promotion of TPP, for which policy Obama was hair-on-fire enthusiastic to fast track.
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/may/12/trans-pacific-partnership-explainer – Among those speaking out against the agreement are unions, workers’ rights groups and environmentalists, all of whom have traditionally been Obama supporters. Many in the president’s own party – including senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren – oppose the trade deal. Free speech advocates and financial reformers are also worried about the deal. Warren is specifically afraid that if it is passed, a future president could use the TPP to change regulations like Dodd-Frank that are meant to safeguard US investors.

Curiously some of the same Democrats who remonstrate about America’s original sin of slavery, are quite comfortable with the same for workers of foreign nations. Bernie Sanders was displaced as the Democratic Presidential candidate in order to install Obama’s V-P Biden as the Democratic President, who was in the pro-TPP Administration. TPP includes language tat buoys violation of human, civil and natural rights. Some people object to this new interpretation of democracy by capitalists.
Another instance of bait-and-switch was touched upon previously but seems vital as an entree of any discussion of the public/private partnership of bait-and-switch imposed on We The People by government/corporations. One submits the previously discussed example—–
Other language gymnastics are apparent. Mr. Holtz-Eskin stared into the C-Span camera this morning (link below) and boldly informed the American people that “inflation is coming down”, as he ‘splained to a caller who asked the reason for the anomaly of “inflation coming down” while costs for living are not.
One hears little to nothing about the costs of insurance, both home and auto, that have increased, by way of the liability transferred to the general public of global warming that is a component in the unprecedented profits by business that uses natural resources and human resources as though business are entitled to both.
Social Security was mentioned by several callers, and the misstatement that Social Security is an entitlement was corrected by callers who reminded that Social Security is an Earned Benefit paid for by the workers over 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 years of tax on income. Capitalistic hierarchy recently attempted the bait-and-switch, using state/business-owned MSM to spread the lie that Social Security is an entitlement. Anyone can investigate for themselves the financial industry/government approved training of financial representatives in any and all levels of education to find that financial representatives have been schooled that Social Security is an Earned Benefit and then said reps were marched out into the public to spread the good news. This surely motivated compliant workers to contribute seriously large portions of remuneration to the government for their future Earned Benefit. All levels of training such as LUTC, ChFC, CLU and CFP use the Social Security standard of Earned Benefit.
Legislatively-mandated continuing education use the standard of Earned Benefit for Social Security.
If Social Security Earned Benefits are now entitlements, this feels like a monumental bait-and-switch by the legislative/business partnership that has worked to transform “our system” from a democracy to capitalism.

https://www.ftc.gov/enforcement –
The FTC enforces federal consumer protection laws that prevent fraud, deception and unfair business practices. The Commission also enforces federal antitrust laws that prohibit anticompetitive mergers and other business practices that could lead to higher prices, fewer choices, or less innovation.
Whether combating telemarketing fraud, Internet scams or price-fixing schemes, the FTC’s mission is to protect consumers and promote competition.

One is surely not an expert on these topics, but urges awareness and discussion in order to enlighten all of government, corporations, and We The People about what could constitute unfair practices or fraud.
On a personal note, who among us hasn’t experienced questionable internet-connection service and price from their provider? Having recently contacted in writing my so-called Representatives on this topic of poor pricing, and service and getting no response, one supposes little will be done by so-called Representatives. (What up Molinaro, Schumer, Gillibrand, and Grippo?……not your job?)

Also discussed previously is the educational system that feels pro-capitalistic that is antithetical in democracy.
https://mronline.org/2023/07/24/right-wing-has-not-tried-to-suppress-teaching-the-history-of-anti-imperialist-movements-because-they-are-rarely-discussed-in-any-course/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=right-wing-has-not-tried-to-suppress-teaching-the-history-of-anti-imperialist-movements-because-they-are-rarely-discussed-in-any-course&mc_cid=5c23f6eb97&mc_eid=2833cdb99b – The right wing that has tried to block the teaching of critical race theory in schools would surely try to censor the teaching of the history of anti-imperialist movements in the U.S.—if it were actually taught. Most teachers may not know about it or partake in self-censorship out of fear of being branded “anti-American.”
But the anti-imperialist tradition is very much in line with the spirit of the nation’s founding in rebellion against one of the most brutal imperialist powers of its day: Great Britain, which the U.S. has since replaced.

Just a thought—
Closer consideration of the roots and nature of this great Asian belief system reveals that elements of the Buddha’s teachings possess a radical and dialectical potential, challenging oppressive systems and offering a path towards personal and collective liberation. In our time, many in the West have sought solace in Buddhism against the rampant and shallow consumerism which saturates late capitalist culture. As the Thai Buddhist and social activist Sulak Sivaraksa observes:
When an individual places self-interest above all and negates the relation view of “self”, the result is greed and selfishness. Neoliberalist rhetoric deludes people and international organizations into believing that profits from multinational corporations will be fairly distributed in society and that any improvement in material conditions is an absolute gain for society. The ideology of consumption deludes people into believing that constant acquisition of goods and power will lead to happiness.

As one who would be perfectly contented to retain the Senate if they adhered to Oaths of Office more than to Citizens United campaign donations, one is interested in a topic raised as to the reason we maintain the US Senate——–
