THE ECONOMY, STUPID?

Biden ‘splains “core inflation” to America, in which the inflation rate is 0%, considering the price of somethings went up while the price of other things went down.  For example, cheaper are diamonds, yachts, foreign boarding schools, and high-end vehicles.  Unfortunately food, gasoline, day care, housing, health care  and family vehicles are priced out of availability for the average consumer.   (This isn’t necessarily a quote but more nearly a paraphrase dripping with sarcasm…and yes the use of sarcasm implies derision) read more

WHAT WE COULD HAVE LEARNED FROM THE TEAPOT DOME SCANDAL

A definition of insanity is to continue to do the same thing while expecting different results.  C-Span  hosted a discussion about electoral reform, while basing the discussion on reliance to corporate political Party duopoly control, rather than on control by We The People. read more

TRAINED VICTIMS

The fascinating reality of abuse is that after the perpetrator has indoctrinated the target into acceptance, the abuser no longer needs to commit abuse while the target carries on the persona alone.  Another perspective is that we can each be our own worst enemy.  And that may be the reason the characters displaying as leaders gain power.  Fascinating is the FACT of a 2020 Presidential campaign in which candidates elected into power had not touched upon the topic of rights of a woman to control her own body.  Allegations brought by women about harassment, in FACT, were ignored.  So in 2022 we shouldn’t be surprised at the lip service from said leaders, with absolutely no action to protect intrinsic rights of women. read more

DEMOCRACY AND FOOD

Climate Change will impact young people more than others.  Irritation is heard about the planet that is handed to them that includes Climate Change.  At the same time popular culture indoctrinates about availability of anything desired at one’s fingertips.  This is confusing.  Add to this dependence and trust in an apparent cause of Climate Change, which seems to be technology, as the means by which humanity will continue untrammeled self-indulgence, and a few questions arise about thought processes. read more

AS ABOVE SO BELOW

AS ABOVE SO BELOW

As above so below.  So far we haven’t tried it but we could attempt an experiment in improving lifestyle pertaining to infrastructure which may uplift attention to humanity that may incidentally address the insanity that is expressed in the violence and aggression on our streets. Not only is gun safety an issue that needs attention, but so is vehicular safety.  One notion sees the promotion of both guns and vehicles by commercial interests as filling a deficiency in the characters of some people who have not received the validation that could otherwise do so by society based upon principles of humanity rather than hierarchy.   read more

DEFINE LIBERTY

Ongoing emails from an organization that says it is working for voting rights calls into question the anomaly of reasoning that voters must approach big-money interests and commercial interests in order to secure the voting rights that seem fundamental to our democratic (small d) Constitutional republic.  This begs the question as to whether said voting-rights organizations are simply ignorant on the topic of civil rights, or are they a front group for fascism. read more

IF YOU DON’T USE IT YOU LOSE IT

Consider the progress in terms of good health, peace, and equality over just 100 years.  It is almost impossible to imagine that I was born only 30 years after the ratification of Suffrage for Women.  That NOW is only about 50 years old is even as fascinating.  That the right for a woman to control her own body in 2022 is on the line is disturbing; but compared to the journey, just a bump in the road.  It is a reminder that freedom and autonomy is each a journey, not a destination.  The ERA could be an important goal for young women going forward.  The success of the past, emerging from the deepest rights violations, reminds that the successes can be even sweeter.  Loss of gains made were quite predictable to those not heady with hubris of the freedom and autonomy handed to them on silver platters. read more

2022 AS A WORK OF ART

The print by Carl Larsson caught attention because it is the same as one in my stairwell.  Depiction of home seems the inspiration; and how can one be a fulfilled person without this foundation?  Life is art and is the substance and purview of each. read more
