One understands the expression of relief from Russell Brand about the response from Cornel West to the welcome of Brand. Brand doesn’t toe a left or right line view, but rather seems to speak his truth. Consequently anyone so motivated is often painted with the broad brush of conspiracy theory by Neo-liberals. I would have anticipated nothing less from Cornel West, who is nothing if not straightforward.
20 YEARS OF WEALTH TRANSFER
Apparently this is the 20th anniversary of the “War in Iraq”. Many callers to C-Span expressed belated regrets for this anomaly of a military action by the USA. Better late than never. Many people were vehement in condemnation of this ill-fated military self-indulgence in the time and place. We also remember the media frenzy over “freedom fries” and “supporting our President”. Too bad our Presidents don’t support We The People.

C–span this morning seemed to be a litany of episodes of predatory behavior from hierarchical Establishment with the liability placed upon We The People. This seems to be “running government like a business” which on a continuum is organized crime.
IS TRANSPARENCY DANGEROUS?
On the topic of whether the USA is a democracy, neither is it capitalistic. The republic will be what we make of it; and when the public is treated as irrelevant, democracy will not result.

A remembrance of Pat Schroeder on CBS Nightly report yesterday mentioned that she was appointed to a Commission but needed to share the seat with a male associate due to her status as 1/2 a person in that time and place. Some women remember those days. We may return to them. Meanwhile too often it feels like the women who endured those places and times are expected to “just get over it”. And so a road to a return to that time is paved.
